Once you have jailbroken your phone and installed that software, you have voided your Apple warranty. Also, in registering for this forum, you agreed to a number of Terms of Service, and one of them is not to discuss this type of information. Since you have indicated (and I certainly did not read the entire post, just highlighted the parts about Cydia and installing) you have done all of this, you have forfeited your chance to get any help here on this forum. Hi! Do you not know that W7 gives you the option to create a system repair disc; that you can use to boot your PC when you encounter a problem?? Do you not know that Toshiba gives you the option to create recovery discs or restore from a hidden partition?? Do you not know that W7 gives you the option to back up your data and create a back up image of your OS?? How much more do you need to have, to keep your computer running?? I have only had a computer for 5 or 6 years and I know these things. I love sharing what I have learned and passing it forward, but there are times when I shake my head and wonder if some of you really should have a computer. In order to allow it to be used on a different carrier, the phone was hacked or jailbroken. An unauthorized modification was made to the phone. That modification has damaged the phone. You can not get support for it here or from Apple. -
What's up with these things in CS5?
Since upgrading to Photoshop CS5, I'm coming across a number of things that don't work like they worked.....I'll even go as far as to say "as well as they worked," in previous versions, and I'm wondering if these are bugs, functionality changes, errors, or something else that I'm somehow missing....like a preference that I could turn on or off. I'll list them below. Any feedback from Adobe or otherwise greatly appreciated.
1. When using the type tool, it used to show up with a box around it, then when it was hovering over existing text, the box would go away, and it would just be the type tool up and down line with its little serif things...that way I could tell when I was going to click into an existing type layer or whether clicking was going to generate a new layer. Now however, the bounding box never appears, so I don't know if I'm going to be clicking to select an existing layer or create a new layer? Bug or by design?
2. When I have a vector layer selected, and that vector path preview thing is showing around the object to show me that my vector object is indeed selected, then I select one of the layer effects on that layer to edit, I used to be able to hit Apple+H to hide the vector path outline thing while the layer effects window was open....now when I hit Apple+H, the "View" menu icon flashes but nothing happens. Bug?
3. This is a really weird specific one that I will be amazed if I am not the only weirdo encountering....in other words, I'll be amazed if someone else has come across this same thing. I like to create layer actions for all kinds of things. One of the things is creating a layer action to duplicate the current layer. In previous versions of Photoshop, I could click a little box next to the "Duplicate Current Layer" command in the actions panel, and that would force a little dialogue to come up whenever that action got triggered....the dialogue being the layer name dialogue....before the action would complete. This was handy because when I called up that action, it would duplicate the current layer while providing me with a handy dialogue at the same time to name that new layer. This is no longer an option in CS5 because that little dialogue no longer shows up next to the "Duplicate Current Layer" command. WTF!?
4. I'm sure this is a by design feature, and maybe I'm the only one that finds this incredibly annoying... I used to be able to be working in full screen mode, then open another file, and have that new file not open in full screen mode. This was handy if say I was working in full screen mode, and opened another file because there was something in that file that I wanted to drag into the file I was already working in.. Nope! Now if I'm working in full screen mode, everything else that I open then opens in full screen mode... Do I just have a bassackwards way of working, or does this throw anyone else off as well? Maybe I'm just weird, but I really enjoyed being able to work with a bunch of documents in different screen modes... Could this one be a preference that I can turn off somewhere?
5. Again, this may be something where I'm the only person in the world that used this feature. If I had say the direct-selection arrow tool selected, and I wanted to select a different layer, I used to be able to do this handy shortcut/combination of keys to select that new layer...I would hold down Control Option Command, and click, and the layer I clicked on would be auto-selected. Brilliant! Now, doing that key combination and clicking brings up a weird color-picker thing that I don't understand, and that I probably have to read some documentation to figure out what it even is. This one seems to be by design, but annoying when a keyboard shortcut that is practically stored as a grove in my brain now does something else. I literally need to change the physical form of my brain before I will stop trying to make that shorcut work! It just doesn't work. As many times as I might try it and hope that the Photoshop Elves have changed it back to what it used to do, it's fate seems to be sealed in a new direction... Unless...?
These things frustrate me every time I use Photoshop, and I really hate to be frustrated by Photoshop!!! I wish we could just be friends like we used to when a new release was amazing, like "Wow, this new version of Photoshop has LAYERS! Amazing!" or, "Wow, Photoshop now has a thing called History! Incredible!" Those were the days! Now I sometimes feel like things just change from one release to the next...like Photoshop hit a peak at a certain point, and...I know it sounds harsh...but now they just keep finding reasons to create new versions that are no longer about creating a better application, but more about making money. Can't we all just go back to CS4!!?? Ah OK, I'll stop ranting...

Elliottad 3) Try recording command-alt-J instead of command-J, that should provide the »Toggle dialog on/off«-field in the Actions Panel.
ad 4) I think that has been changed since CS4 at least.
I also preferred the old behaviour, but I doubt it will be re-introduced anytime soon.
ad 5) I seldom use those combinations, but with the Direct Selection Tool doesn’t command-clicking suffice? -
I am paralyzed from shoulders down. Therefore, I cannot work and only make a certain amount of money through Social Security. I really, really want to buy my mom a new iPad because she wants one so badly. She is on disability as well and doesn't make a lot either. Majority of our money goes to the bills in my house or movies every week to entertain me because I get bored a lot, naturally. Why are these things so expensive? Is there a way to get a new one fairly cheap? Or even layaway are some kind of payment plan option where you receive the item up front and make reasonable payments every month? Anywhere? Anyone know?

popularity makes iPads more expensive than other devices. I love my Playbook at nearly 1/3 the cost and it comes with dual speakers!

becareful, if you have mobility issues, iPads are not good for drop tests. The slippery aluminum skin increases the likelyhood of a slip. Mine has a big dent after a month (hit a office chair leg on the way down). -

There are a few issues some users may have experienced after that, and if
so, some ideas on what may apply to your situation may be available (still)
at MacFixIt.com for a limited time.
If you upgraded from 10.4.7 to 10.4.8 and repaired disk permissions before
and after the update, and only the game was affected, it may be something
with the game itself and incompatibility with the OS. I could guess all day
and maybe never get close.
If you do system maintenance, repair permissions, run automated fixes in
the system via some tool like OnyX (clear caches, run background stuff)
these things can't hurt and may help the newer update settle in. Even
booting into SafeBoot, and then repairing disk permissions, then restarting
can help.

Before release 6.10, SAP supported different codes for representing characters of different fonts, for example ASCII, EBCDIC as single-byte code pages or double-bytecode pages:
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) encodes every character with one byte. This means that a maximum of 256 characters can be displayed (strictly speaking, standard ASCII only encodes one character using 7 bit and can therefore only represent 128 characters. The extension to 8 bit is introduced with ISO-8859). Examples of common code pages are ISO-8859-1 for Western European, or ISO-8859-5 for Cyrillic fonts.
EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange) also encodes each character using one byte, and can therefore also represent 256 characters. For example,EBCDIC 0697/0500 is an IBM format that has been used on the AS400 platform for Western European fonts.
Double byte code pages require between 1 and 2 bytes per character. This enables the representation of 65,536 characters, of which only 10,000 to 15,000 characters are normally used. For example, the code page SJIS is used for Japanese and BIG5 for traditional Chinese fonts.
Using these character sets, all languages can be handled individually in one ABAP-based SAP system. Difficulties arise if texts from different incompatible character sets are mixed in one central system. The exchange of data between systems with incompatible character sets can also lead to problems.
The solution to this problem is the use of a character set that includes all characters at once. This is realized by Unicode Unicode (ISO/IEC 10646) . A variety of Unicode character representations is possible for the Unicode character set, for example UTF, in which a character can occupy between one and four bytes.
From release 6.10, the SAP NetWeaver Application Server supports both Unicode and non-Unicode systems. Non-Unicode systems are conventional ABAP systems, in which one character is usually represented by one byte. Unicode systems are ABAP systems that are based on a Unicode character set and which have a corresponding underlying operating system, including a database.
Before release 6.10, many ABAP programming methods were based on the fact that one character corresponds to one byte. Before a system is converted to Unicode, ABAP programs must therefore be modified at all points where an explicit or implicit assumption is made about the internal length of a character.
ABAP supports this conversion using new syntax rules and new language constructs, whereby emphasis was placed on retaining as much of the existing source code as possible. As a preparation for the conversion to Unicode - but also independently of whether a system will actually be converted to Unicode - the checkbox Unicode checks active can be selected in the program properties. The transaction UCCHECK supports the activation of this check for existing programs. If this property is set, the program is identified as a Unicode program. In a Unicode program, an additional stricter syntax check is performed than in non-Unicode programs. In some cases, statements must also be enhanced by using new additions. A syntactically correct Unicode program will normally run with the same semantics and the same results in Unicode and non-Unicode systems. (Exceptions to this rule are low-level programs that query and evaluate the number of bytes per character). Programs that are required to run in both systems should therefore also be tested on both platforms.
In a Unicode system, only Unicode programs can be executed. Before converting to a Unicode system, the profile parameter abap/unicode_check should be set to "ON" so that only the execution of Unicode programs is permitted. Non-Unicode programs can only be executed in non-Unicode systems. All language constructs that have been introduced for Unicode programs can, however, also be used in non-Unicode programs.
It has been established that existing programs that have been programmed with no errors mostly fulfill the new Unicode rules and therefore require very little modification. Conversely, most programs that require significant changes are due to an error-prone and therefore questionable programming style. Even if you are not planning a conversion to a Unicode system, Unicode programs are preferable because they are more easily maintained and less prone to errors. Just as outdated and dangerous language constructs are declared obsolete and are no longer permitted for use in ABAP Objects, the rules for Unicode programs also offer increased security when programming, for example when working with character fields and mixed structures. This applies particularly for the storage of external data (for example using the file interface), which has been completely reviewed for use in Unicode programs. When creating a new program, SAP therefore recommends that you always identify the program as a Unicode program, and older programs can be converted to Unicode in stages.

I have garage band ver 10.0.2 and am trying to add effects to an audio track but i have no info button or track info under the track tab. How do i get these things to show up on my program?
In GarageBand 10.0.2 you can no longer add all kinds of effects freely; this GarageBand '11 feature has been discontinued. Pick one of the predefined patches that already has the effects you want.
However, you can add effects from the predefined audio units.
You'll see the predefined effects on the track, when you open the Smart Controls. To add audio units, click the button and enlarge the the smart controls pane by dragging the dividing line to the Track Area upwards. -

Can someone please just help me figure out how to update this stupid phone(iPhone 4)without losing anything? thatnksNever mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal. -
