Do we communication channels in idoc adapter

do we create communication channels in idoc adapter
Edited by: katru vijay on Jul 24, 2010 10:54 AM

Hi Ashwin,
I stop and start the channel but it is still in red. The communication channel is working fine.
Resarting the box will clear this but we cannot restart each time this isuue occurs.
Ca you suggest any parameter with which we can limit the number of days to 1.
Thanks.

  • Communication Channels for IDOC scenario

    Hi!
I have a conceptual question regarding the communication channels within IDoc scenario.
    Case 1:
    - File_to_RFC scenario
Here I defined a File communication channel from business system A.
1a) For which system (business system A or B) do I need to define a IDoc communication channel?
1b) What is the RFC destination and Port I need here?
    Case 2:
    - IDOC_to_IDOC scenario
2a) Do I need in this scenario only one communication channel for business system A?
2b) What is the RFC destination and Port I need here?
    Thank you very much!

in this case no IDoc CC is involved. All you need is a File sender adapter and RFC receiver adapter

in this case you will need a IDoc receiver adapter only.
    The basic settings:
    In XI
    SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3
IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.
    In R3
    SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI
WE21 - define the port with the above dest.
    WE20 - Partner profile type outbound/Inbound

  • Multiple communication channels for file adapter based on user name

I am using this Idoc-to-File scenario, using FTP for sending the files to file server. Target directory is determined by user id which is unique for a field called ASC.  Field ASC is a part of incoming Idoc. There are 40 ASC; that means I have 40 user ids/password. Is there way of creating a file communication channel where user id/password can be supplied dynamically. Or there is an alternative to creating 40 different channels, one for each ASC.
    Thanks,
    Dehra

    Hi,
you need to create 40 channels if you have users
as dynamically you can only create:
    File Name
    Directory
    File Type
    File Encoding
Temporary Name Scheme for Target File Name
    with FTP adapter

  • Sender communication channel with file adapter

    Hi All,
Here i am facing some error with the communication channel in which i have used FILE adapter. Here i am using PI 7.0. Here i have configured the communication channel. but i didn't checked the "operating system commands". and i checked the " adapter specific message attributes". i dont know whether i have to check these adapter specific message attributes or not. When i have gone to runtime work bench there i saw in adapter monitoring. there it is not showing any error. but in communication channel monitoring it is showing that it is having  -
"processing  errors" but i am not getting where will be the error.. Any new ideas will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramana

    Hi Bhavesh and Aaron,
Here i viewed the XMl format of the sender file in the mapping. there i found the difference between the file i am trying to pick up by the adapter and the XML instance of the sender interface in mapping. The difference is there in the message type of the <ns0> tag the file i am trying to send is having one message type and name space, where as the XMl instance is having the other message type and same name space.
i think that will the problem in processing my file. i am not sure about it.please any of you confirm that if it is th processing error i am facing or not.
                Thanks for your efforts.

    Ramana.

  • Need help in troubleshooting communication channel using soap adapter

    Hello friends
    I have a simple scenario.
I have created 2 communication channels, one for searching a record and another for updating it with a new value
Both uses SOAP as sender and RFC as receiver with a Standard BAPI.
Everything was working ok, but without any changes, all of a suddent I am not being able to update the values and when I checked RWB, I see for Update SOAP Adapter Channel, the messages say
    Request received for a channel
but in a second it says 'Call Failed'.
    I haven't made any changes.
I even tried restarting XI and ERP servers but still getting the same error.
Any suggestions or feedback will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Issue while archiving the processed file in sender communication channel using SFTP adapter

    Hi All,
In one of my scenario (File to IDOC), we are using SFTP sender communicationchannel.
we are facing an issue while archiving the processed file. Some times PI processed the file successfully but unable to archive it and in the next poll PI process & archives the same file successfully which will creates duplicate orders in ECC.
Please let us know how to resolve this issue.

  • Communication channel - Sender File Adapter - File Encoding

    Hello colleagues,
I'm using a sender file adapter to send flat files to the IE for further mapping and transformation @runtime. The flat files which are received by the file adapter are based on two different codepages:
       -> MS-DOS Codepage 437
       -> Windows Codepage 1252.
Do you know by chance which kind of file encoding I have to set in the configuration of the respective sending file adapter for these two code pages?
For the windows codepage 1252 I'm using the file encoding ISO-8859-1, which works quite fine. However, for the input files based on codepage MS-DOS 437, I do not know which kind of file encoding  to use. If anyone could help me with that issue, I would be very glad.
    Best regards
    Stefan

  • IDOC adapter is not shown in communication channel

    hi gurus,
at present i am using PI and in the communication channel list (adapters types) no idoc adapter is displayed ,can anyone help me to solve this problem.
and also when i create any scenario related to idoc those messages where not displayed in communication channel.

    Hi Allen,
U r checking for an IDoc channels in Communication channel monitoring.IDoc adapter is reside in ABAP stack. So that u cant see the Idoc communication channels from monitoring of CC's. If Idoc messages is at sender side no need of CC.
If you want to view the source and target messages of Idoc's u can see those from SXMB_MONI.Choose u r processed message,Dbl click,For Idoc as sender u can view the message from payloads of Inbound message,For Idos as Receiver u can view the message from Payloads of Request message Mapping.
    Hope it will helps..

  • Communication channel parameters for XI receiver adapter

    Hi
I am implementing a ABAP server proxy - to do this, I am creating a XI adapter type - Receiver communication channel so that messages from XI go to ---> the R3 system wherein the proxy is implemented.
I have seen a weblog with a sample defn of communication channel of this adapter type , but the illustration there is not clear enough.
Based on documentation for this in help.sap.com, I have the following questions :
    1. Do we have to setup a HTTP type destination in the XI box pointing to the R3 system ( on which ABAP proxy is implemented ) . I guess this is the case, since XI needs to find the connection to the R3 box to pass the proxy message to it .
    2. If we do have to setup a HTTP type destination in XI pointing to R3, what is the path prefix and service number field values that need to be given...
I tried putting in /sap/xi/engine as path prefix and 8000 as service with the logon credentials for the R3 system and I get a status code error of 500 ( <b>Pipeline specified in URL attribute not existing</b> ) when I test the SM59 connection in XI...
Any pointers on what am I missing here ??

    Hi Karthik,
    >>1. Do we have to setup a HTTP type destination in the XI box pointing to the R3 system ( on which ABAP proxy is implemented ) . I guess this is the case, since XI needs to find the connection to the R3 box to pass the proxy message to it .
Based on 'addressing type' field in XI adapter you can either specify HTTP destination in communication channel or provide all the required details in the communication channel itself.
    >>2. If we do have to setup a HTTP type destination in XI pointing to R3, what is the path prefix and service number field values that need to be given...
I tried putting in /sap/xi/engine as path prefix and 8000 as service with the logon credentials for the R3 system and I get a status code error of 500 ( Pipeline specified in URL attribute not existing ) when I test the SM59 connection in XI...
    use the URL /sap/xi/engine?type=receiver
Also make sure that your R/3 is set up as a local integration engine for proxy communication..
    Check this..

  • Can't select Adapter Type during creating communication channel.

    Hi, all
I want to create a configuration scenario in Integration Builder (Configuration).
After assign a business system, try to create a sender communication channel, but the Adapter Type filed has no values to select, and depicted as "Undefined".
    What configuration I have missed?

You need to import SAP BASIS Software Component Version into Integration Repository based on your SP Level & XI or PI.
You need to download it from service market place.
    https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=SEARCH&HIDE=&SEARCH_SPAT=X&SEARCH_BPAT=X&SEARCH_CD=X&SEARCH_P=X&SEARCH_PV=X&SEARCH_C=X&SEARCH_CV=X&SEARCH_TA=&SEARCH_V=&HIDE_EXPERT_SEARCH=X&SEARCH_MAX_RESULT=20
In Search Term Enter "SAP BASIS <version> ".
Now click on XI CONTENT SAP_BASIS 7.00 ( if using PI ) -
    > Database independent -
    > SAPBASIS<SP Level>.ZIP Just save this file on your machine and unzip it.
Now put this in the import directory: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
In IR, TOOLS ---> Import design objects and import it.

  • RE:SENDER IDOC ADAPTER

    Hi ,
why don't we crate a communication channel for idoc on sender side, but when we go for receiver side we create communication channel .
please let me know how an idoc converted in to idoc-xml while transfer to integartion engine from sender side.( with out idoc adapter on sender side)

    hi prateek,
<i>The communication at sender also passes through the Idoc adapter.</i>
with our configuring idoc adapter on sender side, how can an idoc passes through idoc adapter, is this because idoc  adapter resides in abap stack.
can u briefly describe how can an idoc convert in to idoc-xml before comming to integration engine.
if idoc adapter is on abap stack then
in case of <b>file to idoc</b>
why we  go for idoc adapter . (con't the process same as reciver side) .
please give brief explain to each of my questions.

  • How many Communication Channels do we need?

    Hi Friends,
I am doing a simple IDOC-XI scenario. I have created two software components for the sender and receiver systems. Do i have to create a single communication channel or two?. Coz the Idoc from the sender system comes as an inbound into the XI Server(Communication Channel 1) and from here the idoc goes to the receiver system (Communication Channel 2). Correct me if iam wrong. In case we need to create a single communication channel(Adapter type XI, Radio button Sender is not enabled here?? ) what should be the RFC Destination?. Is it the sender system or the XI Stystem or the receiver system??.
    Prompt replies would be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tamilarasan.

    Hi Tamilarasan,
    - you can only create IDOC receiver channels
    - if you have two R3 systems you have to create
two communication channels (one if the receiveer is the first R3 and the second one if the receiver will be the second R3)
    so if you have:
    a) firstR3 -> XI -> secondR3 scenario
you have to create only one communication channel for idocs
    if you have:
    firstR3 -> XI -> secondR3
    firstR3 <- XI <- secondR3
    then you'll need two channnels:)

  • Why Sender side IDOC adapter doesnt have SenderAgreement and Sender CC

Why Sender side IDOC adapter doesnt have SenderAgreement and Sender CC . But in receiver side it is having.
    what i know is
    1) Idoc adapter is in ABAP Stack.
    2)XI having Idoc Metadata.
3)Once Communication Idoc generated , no control on it.
4)SAP using  TRFC to identify XI , XI cant.
Pls explain , in comparition with receiverside. Dont post links.

    Hi vijayreddy.veluri
    these questions are very general.
    Please refer to the
    [rules of engagement|/thread/117188 [original link is broken];
    before creating threads.
Sender agreements are not required as there is no requirement to bind sender information to a sender communication channel.

  • Register communication channel for monitoring

    Hi Experts,
Need a quick help. Please let me know how to add a communication channel to the list of channels under communication channel monitoring in adapter engine in RWB?
    Thanks,
    Dhawal

    Hi Dhawal,
Adpaters are situated on two Stacks.
    1) Java stack (File, RFC,JDBC) etc)
    2) ABAP stack (IDoc, XI etc)
In RWB--> Communication channel monitoring. You can see only Java stack adapters. But before displaying it in RWB you need to create the JAVA stack adapters in Directory and activate them.
