Do we have to use our bank cards to go on iTunes?
I don't want to use my Apple ID to buy things and I want to update my old iPhone (ver: 4.3.5) but I want to transfer my apps before they disappear in the sync. Can I just use a gift code alone or something without using debit/credit cards or anything else from the bank? I'm new so help me!
Yes you can just use a gift code alone without using a debit/credit card.

I am having a lot of trouble with trying to use my debit card on purchase of itune apps or music. Whenever i put my card information in it tells me that this card is invalid. But there is no way that my card is invalid because i just got it last week. So the only thing i haven't done yet is call my bank to check and see if all my bank statements match but if they do then have no idea what to do to get this to work with my computer, ipad mini, or ipod HELP! PLEASE!
I am having this same problem and I have even contacted my bank. The address they have is EXACTLY the way I am typing it. It does match. I do not understand.

Debit card? Are you sure?
USA iTunes Store does not appear to accept debit cards - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html "The iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBookstore services (“Services”) accept these forms of payment: credit cards issued by U.S. banks, payments through your PayPal account, iTunes Cards, iTunes Store Gift Certificates, Content Codes, and Allowance Account balances." -
Do you have to used a credit card, or can you use an iTunes gift card?
I've always used iTunes gift cards for my purchase. Can I use an iTunes gift card, or do I have to use a credit card to purchase a Match subscription?
Hi,
You can use Gift cards BUT you must have a valid credit card on your account.

You need to add a valid payment method to the account. An iTunes gift card can be added.

If I have a 20.oo gift card balance on my iTunes and want to buy some gems for my treasure diving game does it come off my gift card balance first or off of my visa
I have a credit card on file in my I tunes account, but I have been using gift cards for years. iTunes has never hit my credit card if I had enough money on my account with the gift cards.
The money should be taken from your account, if you have sufficient funds in the account. If your purchase goes over the amount that you have in the account, the entire purchase will be put on your credit card, even if you are only pennies over the account balance. -

I can't use my bank card to get apps off app store
Any ideas why I can sign into App Store but it will not accept my bank card details
If your bank card is a debit card then it won't work. The app store wants credit cards.
if you don't have or can't use a credit card then you can use your debit to buy an iTunes gift card and use that. -
HHow do I make changes to my account, I don't want to enter any of my bank card pin or details or gift card, how do I change this? I've already tried to edit in my settings but it doesn't give me an option what so ever
Greetings Chlolouise78,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If I understand right, you've created an Apple ID but you're not able to change or remove your payment information for the iTunes Store.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in this article if you want to remove your payment information:
Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support
If you do not have the ability to select 'None' as your payment type, see this article for help:
Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information? - Apple Support
All the best,

Can I use my debit card to purchase from iTunes? I don't have a credit card
From my iPod touch
Whether you can use a debit card depends upon what country that you are in, have you tried adding it to your account to see if it's accepted ? If not then are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you can use them as your payment method - they are not available in all countries and they are country-specific, they can only be redeemed and used in their country of issue.
