Do we have Tool to re-point Dynamic Parameters in multiple crystal Reports

Hi Experts,
Do we have any tool to re-point Dynamic Parameters of Multiple reports in a single shot.source of crystal reports is SAP ECC tables.
Thanks,
BharathU

Hello,
Not sure what this has to do with Database connectivity but the answer is no.
If you have access to a .NET or Java Developer you can write your own using the SDK.

  • How to use Dynamic cascading parameter in crystal Report XI ?

    Hi,
I want to use Dynamic cascading parameter in crystal Report XI which is to be viewed through the infoview without using the Business View.Is it possible?
I could implemented Dynamic cascading parameter using the CR XI developer without using Business View, but cannot view the report when uploaded it to BOXI, through infoview.
    Please suggest..
    Thanks in advance..
    Rajneesh

In the crystal reports field explorer>right click on parameter field>create new-->name the parameter field and select the type as dynamic. Now in the value field click the row and add the database field also add another field below that by clicking on the next row so..on. The order should be like this parent field first and then child field next...... Also click on the last column to add parmater for each level.

  • How to query repository to determine Dynamic parameters used by a report

    Using BOXI 3.1 SP3
    Windows 2008
    .NET
    SQL 2008 Database
I would like to query the repository to figure out which report is using which a dynamic parameter and then to figure out the name of that dynamic paremeter.
The issue is the when I publish a report with Dynamic Paremeters from CR2008 to BOXI, BOXI will automatically create all the underlying connections and also rename the parameters if there is a duplicate.  I have a situation where there were over 100 +reports published and thru repository explorer in CR2008, it's impossible to tell which parameter belongs to which report.
I would like to find in the repository the name of the dynamic parameters being used by the report.
If I query CI_INFOOBJECTS, it does have the prompts and the original name (SI_NAME).  I don't know if it's possible thru Query Builder to query and find this result, or whether I need to write some .NET code.  The only hint in CI_INFOOBJECTS that a report has dynamic parameter is thru SI_GROUP_ID = eor://HOECRS02.NA.XOM.COM:6400/AVDGc3Df_G5Ej9HoJqO3V2g
All dynamic parameters have SI_GROUP_ID populated.....but not sure how to use this unique value AVDGc3Df_G5Ej9HoJqO3V2g  which appears to be a SI_CUID but not sure what to query next to get more information.
If anyone has a query built already or some code to point me in the right directiion, that would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to determine what your wattage draw is is to purchase a killawatt meter. They are relatively inexpensive (20-30 bucks).

  • Dynamic url link for Crystal Reports Enterprise?

    Hi all,
We recently upgraded to SBOP 4.0 SP2 and are looking at migrating our existing Crystal Reports from Crystal Reports 2011 to Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0.
Up to this point we have been utilizing the BW Publisher and role menus in BW.
Our long term goal is to migrate users from the BW GUI to the BI LaunchPad but this will be a gradual process.
Until we make the final switch to the LaunchPad we need to maintain the links in the role menus. I found the Document Link option for Crystal Reports so I have a URL to point to the report that we can put in the role menu, but the system value is not dynamic. Is there a way to make this dynamic like we can do with web template URLs?
For example, when using a web template URL we can use the <bsp_server> parameter in the URL to determine the SAP system. Is there an equivalent that can be used in the Document Link for the Crystal Report to determine the respective SBOP system?
    Thanks.
    -Brian

  • Need solution for dynamic pick lists in Crystal Reports

Does anyone have a good solution for creating a dynamic pick list for a Crystal Report that is based off of a BW Query without having to use a BW user input variable? In many cases it is not practical to use a BW variable to generate a dynamic pick list due to the high number of possible member values and the highly dynamic nature of the particular characteristic (customers, materials, etc.).  In my understanding the LOV Server is not an option when dealing with SAP BW.  Anyone else running into this issue with Crystal and SAP BW?

    Hi Mike,
we once solved this by creating LOVs in BusinessView Manager. I am not sure if you can use the BW Publisher in this scenario as we did not use it. We published the reports directly to the BOE server for some reasons.
Creating a LOV in BusinessView manager is really easy. You can create cascading prompts, shedule refreshing of the lists, ...
By using the cascading prompt feature you can make prompts like this:
First enter the customer number (or pick it from a list) and then the second list, which holds the materials only has shows the ones which had been purchased by that customer. I think this is what you are looking for.
You should give it a try!

  • Passing dynamic parameters to an IR Report

    Hello,
We have installed Hyperion BI+ 9.3.1. We are in the process of evaluating the development of IR reports which would
have a requirement to have parameters passed dynamically. For example, we'd be interested in passing a date as a parameter which then would be used by the query inside IR to filter/bring back data from the database pertinent to the date being passed.
The need for this is because once developed we want to execute the IR on a weekly basis whereby the date keeps moving forward to be then used to extract relevent data.
Any thoughts on how this can be done? Also, on a related note are there any backend command line utilities or interfaces that can be used to pass the parameter dynamically to the IR report?
    Thanks in advance
    Rajesh

    Doug,
Thanks for the response. The delivery of the report output would be via Workspace (iHTML). I mentioned date parameter as an example. The report or reports may need to accept other paramaters as well - like department id or product. While the number of parameters and the nature of the parameters would be known ahead of time the value would need to be derived dynamically (by say reading a database table containing transactional data)
As for the command line utility, I am thinking more along the lines of say Oracle Reports which enables you to invoke a run-time command (rwcli60 for example) and pass the necessary arguments to the report.
I have seen the sample java programs that are shipped with the product (and we have used one of them called AddBqy) but haven't seen one that enables passing dynamic parameters.
I will look into the SmartCut option as recommended by you.
Any more insights/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

  • Dynamic Parameters with multiple values

  • How To Dynamically Load Images in Crystal Reports?

    Post Author: philips
    CA Forum: General
What I want is to have image files saved on a local drive and the images to be loaded into a picute/image frame based on a certain condition - same way it's (easily) done with VB.Net or ASP.Net image objects.
    Can you help?

Not in Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008. You'll have to upgrade to CR 2008 (12.x). Then use kbase [1320507|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] as a guide on how to do this.

  • Can I have a SQL statement in a Custom Function in Crystal Reports 2008

I'd like to create a custom Crystal Reports function which does a database lookup. Is this possible? In the pseudo code below "v_le_afe_xref" is a dataource in the report.  A syntax check fails on the select.
Function legal_entity_co (old_co AS number) AS number
    SELECT v_le_afe_xref.NEW_BURKS FROM v_le_afe_xref WHERE old_co = v_le_afe_xref.OLD_BURKS
    END FUNCTION
    Thanks.

    Hi David,
Not sure where you are trying to use the function but CR doesn't support Functions directly, this changes so try Service PAck 3 to see if it's been added. Try using a SQLExpression, and do not include a SELECT in the SQL or using a Command Object.
You may be able to define it on the server and then call it from CR using a Command also.
    Thank you

  • Will Dynamic Parameters remain connect if source system rebuild.

    Hi Experts,
Will dynamic parameters remain connected if the source SAP system is formatted and rebuild.
    Our Scenario
Now we pointed our Crystal Reports to SAP Ecc Tables.
    SAP Systems : A
    Client : 10;
    IP : 192.xxx.xx.xx
Now the SAP Source system is formatting and going to rebuild with Production COPY.
but the system information (IP,SYS NO, Client No) will remain same .
My Question is : Do we need to re-point Dynamic parameters in the Crystal reports again? or connection remain.
    Thanks,
    BharathU

    Hi Frischer,
If the copy is the exact same, meaning the query id, as well as the properties of the query are exactly the same, then it would work, as far as I know.
Even the prompts have id's and measures and dimensions too. If those are not the same, then I believe that you would need to remapp.
I hope this is a very helpful answer to you.
    Kind regards,
    John

  • Crystal Report Dynamic Parameter for SAP B1 version 8.8

Hi, does anyone have problem with the dynamic parameter prompt for Crystal Report in SAP B1 version 8.8?
    For example:
    1. For static parameter that allows multiple value --> In SAP B1 v8.8, there is a check-box and a "..." button next to it. When you click the "..." button, a new window appear with a list of values to choose.
    2. For static parameter that does not allow multiple value --> In SAP B1 v8.8, there is one field with a drop-down menu.
    3. For dynamic parameter that allows multiple value and does not allow range values --> In SAP B1 v8.8, just one field for us to key in the value. Shouldn't this be the same as No. 1?
    4. For dynamic parameter that does not allow multiple value  and does not allow range values --> In SAP B1 v8.8, same as No.3 above. Shouldn't this be the same as No. 2?
How do I get no. 3 dynamic parameter that allows multiple value and does not allow range values  to have a check-box and a "..." button next to it to allow us to select multiple values?

    Hi Shwu Hua Gan,
    Thank you for your reply.
Please forgive me as I don't really understand what you are saying here. To be honest, I'm very new to Crystal Report and my understanding of CR is just the very basics. I'm actually not from a technical background which makes it more difficult.
    In your reply:
Ie, you create a parameter in Crystal report, and by using the token eg:Mytest@select * from OCRD, it gives you the benefits of selecting the list from the database.
How do you do this by using the token? All I did is just select the parameter type (dynamic) and then select the table. When I preview the report in SAP B1 8.8, it doesn't prompt me like how I expect it to be. It is a blank field that I have to key in the value myself and then only the report will generate. Sometimes I don't remember what value to key in, so I have to do a formatted search for the blank field. After the report is generated, I can reselect the value (multiple values) from the CR viewer panel toolbar and refresh the report.

  • How to display dynamic header title in the report?

I have a req to display dynamic header title in the report.
When a id is entered in the prompt text, it will display the user data based on that user_id.
so similarly....the header title should vary each time when you select different user_id.
    How can we implement this?

Zack..I have several projects listed under several project id's...
so when a user selects project id 00164 then it should display something like "Project document for Jon Doe"
again when the user selects project id as 00192 then it should display something like "project document for Zimmerman"
    Did you get it??

  • Dynamic Parameter only showing 1000 records when Crystal report is run.

I have created a crystal report using ODBC access to a table that has 3000 records.  I created a dynamic parameter to pull a list of all the Customer ID's in a customer table and the parameter will only show the 1st 1000 records.  In addition I cannot type in the customer ID that I would like.  Version of Crystal - Crystal 11.

Oh, darn. So sorry. Looks like I hyperlinked the wrong URL (You'd think I got that down by now...). Anyhow here is the correct link:
1218588 - How to increase the number of values in a dynamic parameter list in Crystal Reports?
And in case the link does not work, or I goofed again, here is a copy of the resolution:
    Resolution
    CAUTION
The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry.
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list of values, set the registry key: MaxRowsetRecords, to a value greater than 1,000.
Open the Microsoft Registry Editor, and navigate to the path corresponding to the version of Crystal Reports used:
    Crystal Reports XI:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    Crystal Reports XI R2:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    Crystal Reports 2008:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    Crystal Reports 2011:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    Crystal Reports 2013:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010:
    -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    NOTES:
    -  Add the key: LOV, if it is not present.
    -  For 64 bit version of Microsoft Windows, the registry path will be slightly different, it will start with:
          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\...
But the rest of the registry path is the same.
    Add the String value: MaxRowsetRecords
Set the value of: MaxRowsetRecords to the maximum number of values to display in the List of Values.
For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a dynamic cascading parameter.
    IMPRTANT NOTES:
    - The higher the number of values is, the longer it will take the see the dynamic parameter prompt screen. In brief, it impact the performance.
    - The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
After making changes to the registry, close and reopen Crystal Reports, or restart the Crystal Reports services for the BusinessObjects platforms.

  • Crystal Report Dynamic connection issue ORA-04043 Database Vendor Code 4043

    HI All,
Ii am getting dynamic connection issue with Crystal Report 2008 and Business View Manager, i have Oracle database,
    i have done following steps
1 Creating Dynamic Connection (including two connection XDC & YDC)
    2. Creating Data Foundation (Common object available in both connection ie. stored procedure)
    3. Creating Business View (with selected number of elements in business element, like firsta name, lastname)
I have verified database connectivity from Business view manager, both the connection are working fine bringing different number of rows from two different schemas (different schema but same objects in two schemas)
    4. Database connectivity to different database schemas
    5. Connectivity from Crystal Report (done the connectivity from the repository to business view )
    6. Report Connectivity with first schema shows records
7 Report Connectivity with second schemas shows error
as follows Failed to retrive data from the database & on clicking of detail i get following error
    Crystal Reports
Database Connector Error: 'ORA-04043: object HR.EXCEPTION_REPORT_SUB1_PROC [Database Vendor Code: 4043 ]'
Q first of all i need to know if dynamic connection using business view manager and crystal report technically possible or not, if yes then please let me know the solution, since we did verified with SQL database and ite work with two different database.
Q if not possible then are there any options to resolve dynamic deployment of crystal report over multiple schemas with crystal report 2008
Any help or suggestion will be appriciated, hope some one might have got similar issue

  • How to enable show SQL Query in Crystal report tool

    Hi,
How can we enable the show SQL Query under Database tab in crystal report...
We have a requirement to modify the SQL query in Crystal reports.
    Thanks,
    Gana

    Gana,
CR has an "Add Command" feature that will allow you to use hand-coded SQL as your data source.
Look at Defining an SQL Command in CR's online help (F1).
If a command was used in the original report creation, it's a simple matter to go in and edit that SQL.
If the report was not originally built w/ a Command you may find it difficult to switch over. In most cases it easier to start over from scratch, creating a new, blank report, that uses the command.
