Do we necessarily need to clear the BW queues in preprocessing steps of SAP

Hello Experts,
A quick question.
I am doing EHP upgrade on BW system
Do we necessarily need to clear the BW queues in preprocessing steps of SAPehpi?
OR the same can be done just before downtime?
A fast response is much appreciated.
Best Regards
Sachin Bhatt

Hello Markus,
Thanks for the info.
We finished EHP4 implementation successfully last saturday.
However to my surprise didnt receive any message by EHPI to clear delta queues.
We cleared it just before down time.
Anyways thanks for the answer.
We wil take a close look when implementing next time during the phase mentioned.

  • How do i clear the qRFC queue in a R/3 sandbox

    Hi All,
I just built a R/3 4.7B sandbox and we are going to perform an upgrade on it. But before we do that we need to clear the qRFC queue. Can anyone please let me know as to how i go about in clearing the qRFC queue.
    Thanks
    Anil

Open the infopackage that loads deltas from this infosource.Use option delta and run the infopackage.Do a monitor on this infopackage and check that it has gone GREEN and pulled records.
then go to tcode rsa7 in the source system and highlight the datasource, then click on the 'detail'(lens) button.
In next screen choose radio button delta update and check that it lists 0 records(shows as 0 from 0 records).
Will also probably show 0 LUW's in the delta queue screen beside the datasource tech name.
This confirms that queue is cleared.
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

    No you don't.
Mac's auto-defragment by writing 2GB+ sized files and smaller to one space on the drive, so you really don't need to worry about it.
If your going to parititon your drive or need a large space of free space, then Carbon Copy Cloning the entire OS x parittion to a external drive, option booting off of it and then erasing and reverse cloning is the approved  method of defragmenting and freeing up disk space, rahter than using defragmentaiton software that can cause issues and make the machine inoperatible.

If you need steps to *cough* clean your Mac of caches and whatnot less your kid/wife/mother/girlfriend/boss, see's it then the steps are as follows.
1: Clean/clear your browser caches first, delete your history etc. from within the program itself, delete any files on the machine by dragging to Trash and emtpy Trash (secure erase not needed if you follow the steps later)
2: Download CCleaner for the Mac and run that
3: Download OnyX for the Mac and run all the cleaning and maintainece, reboot at the end.
4: For scrubbing hard drives of traces (deleted files), use Apple's Disk Utility > Erase Free Space option: Zero (or 7x if you need military/foresic level type deletion, but it takes overnight to complete)
Make sure your browser plug-ins are current, Flash, Silverlight especially.

And your Mac needs more codecs, search for Perian, VLC and Flip4Mac, install those.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Clearing the eprint queue after error

We sent two print jobs to eprint and got an email error message that the printer was not connected. We discovered the IP address was missing and traced that to the cable being disconnected accidentally. That is all cleared now and in the process of troubleshooting we updated firmware, etc and restarted/reset computer, printer and router.
We now have an IP address and test print pages worked fine. However, we have not seen the two jobs in the eprint queue come through. We tried sending another one and got an email with the error message that eprint is busy printing other jobs.
Do we need to clear the queue or do something else?

Alright. Let's try this next. Before doing these steps, make sure you have all of the "Pending" jobs cleared out of the print queue.
First, disconnect the power cord from the back of your router.
Next disconnect the power cord from either the back of the printer or the wall, without powering it off first.
Wait about 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to your router.
Wait about another 30 seconds and plug the printer back in. It should boot back up automatically, but if it doesn't go ahead and press the power button.
Once everything is back up and running, try to send another ePrint.
If this doesn't work for you, reply back in this thread with model of printer you have so that I can give you the next set of steps.

  • [Guide] How To Clear the Play Queue

QuestionHow do I clear the play queue?
AnswerPlease note this is an unofficial workaround and not an official solution.
    1 - Click New Playlist.
2 - Add only one song to the Playlist.
3 - Whenever you want to clear the Play Queue double click it.
Once Play Queue is flushed, only the short song you used will be in the Queue. The reason is that the last song played in the Queue always stays until something new is loaded into it other than manually added material.

The MarkupBean uses its own broadcaster (MarkupBroadcaster).
The setBroadcast(boolean b) is available only in the VueEventBroadcaster.
We may work on better solution to fix the issue.
Probably the issue is not related to the number of notifications!. Try this workaround to confirm...!
Workaround (I do not recommend to do this):
    - Save the current markup broadcaster : oldBroadcaster = getMarkupBean().getMarkupBroadcaster()'
    - Set an empty broadcaster (getMarkupBean().setMarkupBroadcaster(new MarkupBroadcaster())). All the listeners are copied into the new broadcaster
    - getMarkupBean().getMarkupBroadcaster().removeAllMarkupEventListeners(); // Remove the copied listeners
    - Put back the old broadcaster (markup listeners).

  • Clearing the print queue

While printing, the paper supply ran out but when I reloaded, it tells me the printer is out of paper. I've turned off the printer, tried to delete the current job but am still unable to print.
    Thank you.

Hi - Have you rebooted the computer yet?  I'd try that first.  That should clear the print queue in case the previous document is still stuck int he print queue.  If that doesn't take care of it, does the printer attempt to pickup paper or do you get any response from the printer when you send a file to print?
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I clear the print queue?

How can I clear the print queue on an iPad 2?

Double-click the Home button to bring up the "recent Apps" tray. Find the Print Center icon in the tray and touch it to switch to it. You can cancel print jobs from there.

  • Clear the smtp queue in postfix

I've been trying to find a way to clear the smtp queue from postfix in Lion Mail Server.  Got hit by a bad account penetration sending spam and want to clear it to see what is new.  TIA

Sorry for the delay in getting back.  Thanks.  That's exactly what I was looking for.  Another one of those tidbits to tuck away.

  • How do you clear the download queue?

I've reached the 3,333 track limit on my device (Android phone) and keep getting the message every time I go switch off offline mode, because I have tracks queued to download but obviously can't.How can I clear the download queue, to stop the message (and download different tracks after I undownload some others)?

I've ran into that buying a movie. You cannot cancel it. It has to finish downloading then delete it. I tried emailing apple, they told me to do it that way. I also heard they can clear your queue(apple), but that didn't happen to me. Sorry, I looked everywhere as well. I would buy a movie on my iPad to watch on atv and I had to do it that way. I just purchase from tv now and download later on MacBook or iPad if I want it.

  • I would like to be able to start typing a URL directly (with no need to clear the field first) after opening a new tab with my homepage...

I've just installed the newest desktop version of the Firefox browser because my Opera doesn't feel very well these days. I'm trying to become friends with Firefox, and that's why I've changed the new tab settings in order to have my offline homepage loaded every time I open a new tab. There is an inconvenience — when I press Ctrl+T, the cursor appears at the end of the URL. It means that when I start typing, the letters show in the address bar after the URL of my homepage, so what I need is to clear the field first.
Is there a way to get rid of this? (If it helpes, I'm currently using Windows 7.)
I would appreciate if I could just press Ctrl+T, type a URL, and press Enter when I want to go to a website different from my homepage. Thank you for your replies!

Then you can use (Ctrl+L and) Ctrl+A to select all the text in the location bar or Shift+Home/End.

I just bought a new mac book pro and need to clear my old mac of it's contents to give it away---  I do not have my startup disk anymore.  How can i completely delete my old mac's memory?

    Erasing your drive:
Dragging the files to the Trash removes the references to them from the Directory. As has always been the tradition, the data blocks that held the actual data are not over-written, they are merely added to the free list for later re-use. Their original contents are still present.
Disk Utility "Erase" or "Partition" of a drive (which finishes in under a minute) also does not over-write the data blocks, but merely creates a new, empty directory.
To clear the data that may still be present (admittedly in a disorganized mess of unlinked blocks) you need to overwrite the data. Use the erase tab, then choose "Security Erase" Options, and overwrite once with Zeroes. This process can take several hours as it is -- if you insist on multiple passes, it can take days to complete, with little additional protection. Multiple passes is unnecessary unless your drive held Military Secrets.
When you have erased, be sure to install some version of Mac OS X -- a Mac with no obvious Operating software may be dead, and  is much more likely to quickly become landfill.

  • Need to clear the terminal

Hey, me and my friend are writting a program which I will eventually put into a nice GUI but for the beginning develpmental stages I running it in command line. I am using BlueJ to program, I am not sure it matters, but the point I am getting to is, I have spend nearly a week pulling my hair our trying to something I thought would be as simple as some of the other languages. I just want to clear the screen of the terminal and I have searched the web near and far and tried everything i could find and I still came out with nothing. So if someone could tell me how to clear the screen and put the cursor back in the upper-left hand corner I would be incredible grateful.

I dunno that i neccesarially need to be able to do it because like DrClap said it is more important to make the GUI look nice but it was more of a this should be easy... why isn't and how can I do it. I appreciate the help though but I am using windows Xp so the I can't get the ASCI thing to work and the brute force thing puts the cursor in the bottom left hand corner instead of the top... Is there a command to make the cursor go back to the top?
