Do we require to install ADF on weblogic for ADF applications
Hi All,
For deploying and running ADF applications do we require to install ADF on weblogic? Can only weblogic installation domain be used to deploy and run ADF applications or we have to install ADF on top of weblogic installation for deplying and running ADF applications?
Please guide!!
Roshni,
You may have to install Application Development Runtime.
The detailed instructions are available here.. http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.html

Hareware requirements to install 9iAS on AIX for 900 users
Hi All,
what is the discoverer server capability on AIX box? In other words, How much load 9iAS i.e apache server and application server can bear on AIX box?
I need this information ASAP since we are going to install 9i AS on AIX and the concurrent users could be between 250 to 900.This is a dedicated box so, i would like to know hardware requirements for the above mentioned no. of users.
Any help highly appriciated.
ManuHas anyone tried 9i AS any release on 5L? Specifically AIX 5.2?
When will AIX 5.2 for 9i AS be certified?

How to configure SSL in standalone weblogic server for ADF apps
Hello,
I'm new to weblogic, Could anyone provide documentation/blog references to configuring SSL in weblogic for adf application. Currently adf application deploys on http I need it to deploy as https.
Appreciate your response
Thanks and RegardsExpand Environment > Click on Server > Click on Keystores Tab
Under Keystores you have some options like DemoIdentity & Demo Trust.
If u want to use the default keystores, you dont have to modify these configuations.
Just enable SSL and specify the listen port.
Expand Environment > Click on Server > General
SSL Listen Port Enabled
SSL Listen Port:
If u want to use your own keystore Select Custom Identity and Custom Trust besides Keystores Drop Down and specify the require values.
If u need any clarification let me knw.
HTH,
Faisal

Issue while installing FatWire on weblogic server
I was trying to install CS with Weblogic as the Application server.
During the installation of CS, I faced an issue while integrating with LDAP. In log it showed "Could not connect to the application server.Error in creating LDIF file.
I had given the valid credentials.
Have anyone faced this issue previously, if so please guide me thorugh.
And also, Is it mandatory to use LDAP ?
Thanks,
Rahul NairIt sounds like the application server was turned off whilst you were running the LDAP configuration tool. The tool needs the application server to be running.
It's not mandatory to have LDAP integration with CS, from what I have seen most existing customers don't use it. There are also some performance benefits to avoiding LDAP integration.
If you do want LDAP integration then you don't need to configure it immediately after install. The LDAP configuration tool can be run separately, e.g. after you are happy the fresh install is working as expected.

ADF on WebLogic 12c 12.1.2 requires a database
hi
Some recent forum messages suggest that ADF on WebLogic 12c 12.1.2 requires a database :
at https://forums.oracle.com/message/11104301#11104301
"BrianFry wrote:
... The JRF domain template is the one that contains ADF libraries, so to configure standalone WLS with ADF, you need to use the JRF template. As you've discovered, the JRF template has a dependency in 12.1.2 on the Coherence template, so you get that one too. In 12.1.2, the WLS infrastructure with JRF and Coherence also requires a database connection and to have RCU installed. You should run RCU prior to running the config wizard. ..."
and also at https://forums.oracle.com/message/11105901#11105901
The blog post "Setting up a standalone WebLogic 12c install for ADF Without a Database" by Duncan Mills
at https://blogs.oracle.com/groundside/entry/setting_up_a_standalone_weblogic
explicitly says "... I stress this is not a supported configuration for production usage ...".
The same blog post also includes some explanation :
"... Now this connection has a real purpose, the Oracle Platform security infrastructure for 12c needs to store it's information within a proper database so as to correctly (and supportably) manage itself across multiple servers in a cluster. ..."
Has this requirement (the required database) been documented somewhere?
How many database connections are expected to be used by this "feature" (per managed-server, per user-session, per ...)?
What about this requirement if you don't have a WebLogic Server cluster (but maybe some managed-servers behind a load-balancer)?
many thanks

I am getting classnotFounException when deploy application on stand alone Weblogic.
1. I Install WLS 10.3.5
2. I Install ADF library using jdeveloperstudio1112 installer.
3. Create domain and configure use jrf 11.1.1 librarys using wizard
4. Using wizard i define servers, machines and add librarys to servers..
When i test i can deploy application well in admin server but in other server i create i am getting
classnotFoundException oracle.adf.share.weblogic.listeners.ADFApplicationLifecycleListener
I check on forum and find many topics about this...
I try this answers:
http://remcodeblok.blogspot.com/2009/03/howto-run-adf-with-node-manager.html
Standalone WLS deployment failure - incorrect weblogic-application.xml
but nothing seems to fix the error....
I am wonder if i am doing something wrong.. i have instaled weblogic 10.3.1 many times and didnt get errors like this..
HelpWell, both threads are for older versions, the problems described there are solved by now.
All I had to do is the second solution from the first thread (change nodemanger properties).
Then start the node manager, then the admin server. The first time you need to start the managed server via the admin console. After shutting down everything and starting again all servers are OK.
Have you checked that the Ast libraries targeted to your managed server?

Install EM in weblogic 10.3.4
Hello.
Is possible install EM in weblogic when it have adf runtime installed (installed adf runtime from jdeveloper)?
Regards, MarceloHi Marcelo
If you want to install Enterprise Manager (EM), first you need to install a full blow SOA/BPM Software on top of your existing Weblogic Server installation. EM is part of Oracles SOA Fusion Middleware and this EM admin console is mainly used to adminster all the soa fusion middleware stuff like soa, bpm, bi, etc etc and they mostly refer to soa servers.
By default, for adf applications all you need is just pure Weblogic Server and there is no need of any SOA/BPM Software. But if you really need EM, then you need this SOA/BPM. Now remember that SOA/BPM license are different and you had to pay for this software in addition to your weblogic license.
Once you install SOA/BPM on top of Weblogic Server. You use Config Wizard, create a Domain, and at this point, you select one more project facet named something like "Oracle Enterprise Manager ....". And you can access this EM using http://adminhost:adminport/em. And use same admin privileges of console.
Just curious, why you need EM for adf applications running on your weblogic server.
Thanks

Weblogic production cluster: how to configure it for ADF, ADF Faces, BC?
Given a production ready cluster of Weblogic 10.2. What should I do to convert it an ADF ready weblogic server ? How to make it as usable for ADF as the integrated weblogic in jdeveloper?
any official guide from Oracle ?
thanks,
fabioFor WLS 11g (aka 10.3.x) you must install the Application Development Runtime (get it from here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/middleware/htdocs/fmw_11_download.html) and extend your existing domains.
Check the Installation Guides first: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/install.htm

What is the minimum client requirement for ADF Application?
Dear All,
What is the minimum client hardware and software requirement for ADF Application?
Operation System, Web Browser etc...
Thank you,Presumably you mean for delivering ADF applications across the web to client PCs. As far as I know there's no hardware requirements. However you can find the browser certification matrix in the following link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html
Alternatively by "client" you mean a developer PC's hardware/software requirements to run the JDev IDE, the following link gives more information: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/install.1111/e13666/ojdig.htm#BDCDAGAH

Using EJB with Hibernate on Weblogic Server ADF platform
Hi all,
We use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and WLS 10.3
I tried to use Hibernate on my project according to this link well, EJB with Hibernate On Weblogic
I wanto use Hibernate tool because toplink and eclipselink can not achieve the issue about generating update* ddl on schema, they can just only re-create the tables -not real update.
Firstly i got the related jars from internet: http://www.2hotfile.com/di-LSBU.png

Please help me and excuse my poor English. Thanks in advanceThanks again for your consideration.
I double checked CLASSPATH. And seen starting wls with classpath which i defined, but no change about ecxeption.
you can see wls starting classpath through the link: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=BQNE

@REM WARNING: This file is created by the Configuration Wizard.
@REM Any changes to this script may be lost when adding extensions to this configuration.
@REM *************************************************************************
@REM This script is used to setup the needed environment to be able to start Weblogic Server in this domain.
@REM
@REM This script initializes the following variables before calling commEnv to set other variables:
@REM
@REM WL_HOME - The BEA home directory of your WebLogic installation.
@REM JAVA_VM - The desired Java VM to use. You can set this environment variable before calling
@REM this script to switch between Sun or BEA or just have the default be set.
@REM JAVA_HOME - Location of the version of Java used to start WebLogic
@REM Server. Depends directly on which JAVA_VM value is set by default or by the environment.
@REM USER_MEM_ARGS - The variable to override the standard memory arguments
@REM passed to java.
@REM PRODUCTION_MODE - The variable that determines whether Weblogic Server is started in production mode.
@REM DOMAIN_PRODUCTION_MODE
@REM - The variable that determines whether the workshop related settings like the debugger,
@REM testconsole or iterativedev should be enabled. ONLY settable using the
@REM command-line parameter named production
@REM NOTE: Specifying the production command-line param will force
@REM the server to start in production mode.
@REM
@REM Other variables used in this script include:
@REM SERVER_NAME - Name of the weblogic server.
@REM JAVA_OPTIONS - Java command-line options for running the server. (These
@REM will be tagged on to the end of the JAVA_VM and
@REM MEM_ARGS)
@REM
@REM For additional information, refer to "Managing Server Startup and Shutdown for Oracle WebLogic Server"

@REM This script is used to start WebLogic Server for this domain.
@REM
@REM To create your own start script for your domain, you can initialize the
@REM environment by calling @USERDOMAINHOME\setDomainEnv.
@REM
@REM setDomainEnv initializes or calls commEnv to initialize the following variables:
@REM
@REM BEA_HOME - The BEA home directory of your WebLogic installation.
@REM JAVA_HOME - Location of the version of Java used to start WebLogic
@REM Server.
@REM JAVA_VENDOR - Vendor of the JVM (i.e. BEA, HP, IBM, Sun, etc.)
@REM PATH - JDK and WebLogic directories are added to system path.
@REM WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH
@REM - Classpath needed to start WebLogic Server.
@REM PATCH_CLASSPATH - Classpath used for patches
@REM PATCH_LIBPATH - Library path used for patches
@REM PATCH_PATH - Path used for patches
@REM WEBLOGIC_EXTENSION_DIRS - Extension dirs for WebLogic classpath patch
@REM JAVA_VM - The java arg specifying the VM to run. (i.e.
@REM - server, -hotspot, etc.)
@REM USER_MEM_ARGS - The variable to override the standard memory arguments
@REM passed to java.
@REM PRODUCTION_MODE - The variable that determines whether Weblogic Server is started in production mode.
@REM DERBY_HOME - Derby home directory.
@REM DERBY_CLASSPATH
@REM - Classpath needed to start Derby.
@REM
@REM Other variables used in this script include:
@REM SERVER_NAME - Name of the weblogic server.
@REM JAVA_OPTIONS - Java command-line options for running the server. (These
@REM will be tagged on to the end of the JAVA_VM and
@REM MEM_ARGS)
@REM CLASS_CACHE - Enable class caching of system classpath.

Do we require to install microsoft excel in sharepoint 2013 server?. if require to use sharepoint 2013 excel services.
In our organisation, development team is asking to install office 2013 in SharePoint 2013 server to use different services, where as architecture team not allowing for the same. I need to provide proper justification for installing office 2013 in SharePoint
2013 server. Please provide me the correct solution for the same.No, you do not need to install Office on the SharePoint server to utilize the Excel Services. Office should not be installed on the SharePoint server.
Do they need Office Web Apps? Are they looking to have the capability to edit documents in the browser maybe? Or have document preview on search? Office Web Apps would be required for this, but this is a different product than Office.
