Do we transport 0LOGSYS (Source System) Info Object?

We are transporting the info objects first time to the quality. when we selected the necessarry objects for the required info objects in transport Organization it also picked 0LOGSYS info object.
My question is do we transport 0LOGSYS info Object?
And also it has created a Task number which is a type of repair (Yello color if you see in the main screen of SE09).
why it has created a repair task?
Can anybody please explain this?

Yes, you can transport 0LOGSYS InfoObject.
If the current system is not the original system of the object, the object will be assigned to a task of the type repair.
Repair in Change & Transport System
The modifications of SAP standard objects.
Repository objects that are changed in a system other than their original system are entered in repairs. Objects can be transferred from their original system by transports.

Virtual Transport Path to move BI source system dependant objects.

Currently, our BI Test system (which contains all Transported Objects from BI Dev) is connected to ECC client 100. We want to change BI connection to different Client i.e ECC 115 (this client contain better test Data). We have removed BI connection from Client 100 and connected to Client 115. But our entire Source System Dependent Objects in BI still point to ECC Client 100. To change these Objects to point to the correct Client 115, we are executing the following steps:
1 Remove Source System ECC Client 100 from BI2
2 Connect New Source System ECC Client 115 to BI2
3 Ensure that New Source System Connection to Client 115 have been set up
4 Create a virtual transport path within BI2 for re-import into BI2 queue for the ? Transport Package
5 Open BI2 to assign user authorization in order to be able to create a transport in BI2
6 Copy Source System dependent rules & create Transport
7 Change the Source System Assignments on the target client
8 In SE09 - check that only the required source system has been copied
9 Move the transport in through the import queue
We are stuck at step 4. Basis team says it is not possible to create a transport path from BI2 system to the Virtual System (in the same BI system) and move it. But I am pretty sure that this can be done as I did this earlier in my previous project. This is something related to Basis so I cant help them.
Do you have any idea, how this can be done?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

I do not understand few things :
- why did you remove the source system ?
- what do you mean by BI2 ? It is the same QA system as before....So why do you need to create a virtaul path for transport ?
The steps you should have followed is to use BDLS transaction to rename ECC100 to ECC115
The source dependant objects would have been renamed automatically.
By the way, you now can start over from your dev and collect the source system dependant objects
Transport the request in QA, paying attention to change the transcodification table to target ECC115 and not ECC100...

How to transport source system dependent objects

Hi everybody,
I've read several questions about how to transport source dependent objects between systems and I still don't get whole picture
say I have BWDEV attached to R3DEV and
BWQA attached to R3QA
and I want to transport transfer rules from BWDEV to BWQA
1) should I create, by hand, the source system R3QA in BWQA and replicate its datasources in the first place?
2) or it has to be transported from BWDEV and "some how" converted in BWQA
3) where does the source system name mapping has to be done: in BWDEV, BWQA or in both
4) in order to do the mapping of names in BWQA I need to create the corresponding R3QA, otherwise I don't have the entry under TargSrceSy when executing tc RSLGMP
I really apreciate an step by step process for the above scenario

Hi Juan,
Let me try to shed some light. Before you can transport dependent objects in the BW side, you have to make sure that the necessary dependencies in the R/3 side have already been transported. For example, if you have a datasource in R/3, you have to transport that from dev to QA first (before you transport anything in BW). Then, in the BW QA box you have to replicate the datasource before you can transport any BW objects in the BW QA. Then before transporting anything to BW QA and after replicating the datasource in the BW QA you have to go to RSA1->Tools Menu->Assignment of Source System to Source System ID menu item and make sure that R3DEV is mapped to R3QA. It is only after all the said checks have been done that you can transport objects in the BWQA.
Here are my answers to your questions:
Q1: This depends on your datasource. Some datasources can be transported. Some can be created in the QA box itself. But in both cases, you have to make sure that DataSource exists in R3QA and then replicate it in the BWQA.
Q2: The conversion follows the setup in "Assignment of Source System to Source System ID" in RSA1.
Q3: The "Assignment of Source System to Source System ID" in RSA1 has to be done in the BWQA.
Q4: Yes, you have to setup the R3QA Source System in the BWQA.

How to change original source system of objects at one time

Hi, experts !
I installed extra devlopment server using system copy of orignal
delveopment system.
We have planed that new objects applied to orginal server after developing
finished on extra devlopement server.
The problem is we can not modify or add old objects for specific
package because orignal source system is different
and I know this is SAP policy.
Of course original source server can be changeed on t-code SE03 or
function module TRINT_TADIR_MODIFY
but it should be applied to every objects. This is big job to BC admin.
Is there any solution to possible it at one time?

You can transport all relevant packages from the old to the new development box including a change of the original system using a special transport request of type "relocation of complete package". Check with your system administrators.

Steps to correct transport that had missing info object

Experts,
I had tranpsorted Material Master data after enhancement and realized that I missed to add custom info object in transport (BW). This transport come with Error 8 in QA. Now, I have transported missing object to QA with new transport request. Mw trasport in R/3 and data source replication were good. Currently, Transfer structure and 0Material are inactive. I would like to know steps to correct my tranport best possible way. Can I do repair or reimport my first transport? Please advice. Thanks.

Transport Error: Source system does not exist. Message no. RSAR203

after transporting from BI_DEVELOP to BI_TEST I get an error whil importing Datasources:
Source system ERP_DEVELOP_SOURCESYSTEM does not exist - Message no. RSAR203
Which is upon the first sight correct, because I got the followings systems, RFC's and BI Sourcesystem:
ERP_DEVELOP -> BI_DEVELOP with RFC & Sourcesystem ERP_DEVELOP_SOURCESYSTEM pointing to ERP_DEVELOP
ERP_TEST -> BI_TEST with RFC & Sourcesystem ERP_TEST_SOURCESYSETM pointing to ERP_TEST
Can I map in the transport ( and how) in a way that the transports do not fail ?
ERP_DEVELOP_SOURCESYSTEM to ERP_TEST_SOURCESYSETM
or
Do I need to setup in BI_TEST a Sourcesystem ERP_DEVELOP_SOURCESYSTEM pointing to ERP_TEST ?

Hi Martin,
You have to maintain the transport connection between your ERP_DEVELOP and ERP_TEST
your transport path should be as below
BI_DEVELOP -
> BI_TEST
ERP_DEVELOP -
> ERP_TEST
1)Make sure you have FRC connection between BI_DEVELOP and ERP_DEVELOP, BI_TEST and ERP_TEST
2)check you have transport connection between BI_DEVELOP and BI_TEST,ERP_DEVELOP and ERP_TEST
Now you transports should not fail

Transport issue - Source system does not exist

Hi at all!
I've got a problem after transport from BW QA-system (EBW) to BW PRD-system (PBW). All transports got the same error message, that the Source System DEV500 doesn't exist. But DEV500 is the development R/3 system. How could it be? Because we didn't connect the DEV500 to PBW. We connected PRDCLNT100 (Productive R/3) to PBW. Where is the failure?

Is the above one is your landscape? If so , you must had created the Transport requests in DEV BIW and imported them into QA BIW. And for that you had maintained the source system conversions in QA ABIW .
Now you want to import into PROD BIW. And remember that the orgin(source) of the trnasport requests is DEV BIW. So you need to maintain the Conversions in PROD BIW for conversion from DEV R/3 to PROD R/3.

Text data source and Info object?

Hi I have created Texts data source in R/3 and our onsite folks have asked me to create relavant info objects in BW as well.I need to validate against the data source created in R/ 3for use short med or long text all should support mulilang.Can any body please explain how can I proceed with this ?

It is the other way. Once u tick in the master data tab -what kind of text u want-short,long,medium-then that will appear in your transformation.And u can map any char field from ur data source for these based on the length.
So u can check the datasource definition in rsa2 and determine the length of text field in which ur text data will data.
Based on that select in teh info object, then u will get that to map in transformation.

Transport: Multiple Source Systems in QA

Hi gurus,
I have developed in BW Dev Transfer Rules starting from one R/3 Dev Source System.
Now I need to transport BW Dev settings into BW QA system, where I have 4 R/3 QA Source Systems.
In RSA1 --> Transport Connection --> Conversion (F8) I can introduce only one record to map Dev Source System with QA Source System.
How can I define that the single Dev Source System must be translated into several QA Source System ?
Is it possible ?

Import 4 times by having Different conversion Each time.
And another thing:
Have you tried to create 4 Conversions at a time with same Source of source system and importing with these 4 conversions at a time. Even I too feel that it would not work. But you should try atleast once.

Transport managment, source system changed in import

i faced with the need to change the source system in transport management. I mean, dev source system to assign a different test system source. now is the following:
InfoPackage ZPAK_4MSK400H4M9FGMEKV9ZGDSN4M, source system LGDCLNT300 changed by source system LGTCLNT010 in import (tr STMS).
I'm looking for opportunities to change the target source systems LGPCLNT010.
Where can I find a setting to change the source system during the import?

Transport of Source System assignment for a Virtual Cube

Built a transport with the datasources, transfer rules, cubes etc..
After transport to my Q system - in the Q system I am not seeing any source system assignment for my remote cube
OBviously it exists in Dev
Everythign else is fine - datasource, infosource trasnfer rules but nothing underneath the infocube where the source system normally is
transport before and after in the transport conenctor picks up nothing to be transported
Logical system mapping table in Q is fine (naturally - because the datasouces got there) - replicate all done
Any ideas?

Transport complete source system?

We are duplicating one of our source systems (PRT). We already have a duplicate of our BI prod system (QBI). Can I transport the complete source system (PRT) from our prod (PBI) system to the duplicate (QBI)?
Note that the duplicates (Qxx) has the same logical system name as the prod systems (Pxx).

Assigning data source below info-object

HI,
I have to use one text data source below one info-object. But this data source is already used by another Master info-object.
So that when we create transfer rule for this data -source and in "select direct info-object" when we give info-object name.
After this when we activate transfer rule. It gives error like "it is assign to another info-object".
So that how can we use this data-source to another info-object? is it possible or not?

You can do either of the two -
1. Migrate the existing transfer rule (from datasource to master data object) to transformation & datasource to 7.x datasource. Then you can load it to any number of targets.
2. No change to the existing flow. Create export datasoruce on the infoobject (right click --> additional options) and create transformation/transfer rule to the new infoobject (from the export datasource) and load texts.

U will get the value of the source system from which the data is loading in p_r_request->get_logsys( ) inside the transformation.
