Do you get notified if you add a new idevice?

Hi all,
I've just bought an ipad for my girlfriend. She already has an apple account for her iphone and I know her passwd (I created her account).
I would like to configure the ipad with her account in order to install all the programs I know she needs but I don't want to spoil the surprise (she'll receive it for xmas).
So the question is: if I activate the ipad with her apple account, will she receive any kind of notification on her email (the yahoo email associated with the apple account)?

Well, if you re-attach your background music under the first clip, the starting point will be at the start of that clip so I think it will still be in sync. If not it's simply a matter of nudging the music track a bit along the timeline. Comparing the audio waveforms of the two tracks should help with this. When its right you can delete the track in the background music position. Now you can add what you like before the first clip without affecting sync.

I have just started using J2SE and I need to add a new class definition. This is to be imported at the start of the program,
ie. import cs1.Keyboard;
The thing im not sure of is, how do I make the compiler know where the Keyboard class is? Which directory do I have to put it in?

Put Keyboard.class in a directory named cs1 and add the parent of cs1 to your CLASSPATH when you compile and run:

Can you add a new managed bean when customizing taskflows?

Hi,
I see post on how to customize taskflows and most of the customization involves rendering changes such as showing/hiding parts of the page..
But I was thinking is it possible to create your own managed bean in Customization Role of JDeveloper?
I notice that when I right click some package, the New option is disabled by default? Does this mean that customization is limited to changing
only the UI/JSFF file? The documentation does not mention about this or it maybe that I could not find it.
What I would like is that, the new managed bean I define in my Customization Role will drive the UI.
Anybody has done customization at this level? Would like to know your thoughts please.
Is this possible or should I point my thinking in the other directions?

This is a Webcenter Portal Application by the way and I am looking into customizing an existing taskflow thru MDS means.

You cannot add a new managed bean via customization. Instead, these may be deployed as ADF Library jars within a shared library or as part of the Portal war.
Once a managed bean has been added as above, then it can be referenced within a taskflow customization. For e.g. you can add a new button with the action set to a method in the managed bean.

Are your bookmarks disappearing when you add a new one in Safari?

When I add a new bookmark many of the old ones just disappear!
I have recovered my archived bookmarks from Time Machine but the minute I go to add a new bookmark, many disappear again!

Quit Safari. Disable Safari synchronization in iCloud, if applicable.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar. Copy the following line into the text box that opens, then press return:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the Finder window open. Relaunch Safari. Select File ▹ Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Test. If Safari now performs normally, you can delete the old bookmarks file. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put back the file you moved, replacing the newer one with the same name. Close the Finder window and post again.

How do you add a group in contacts either on iPod touch or ipad

If your contacts are synced to iCloud you can login to www.icloud.com with a browser. On that website you have the opportunity to create groups, assign contacts to groups etc. Note that the iPad browser won't let you do that; you have to use another computer.
Once you've done that, the Groups red ribbon magically appears in your Contacts on the iPad.
It's a pity there's no way to do that on the iPad itself (that I've found) but at least you don't need a 3rd party app to do it. Another obvious oversight is that there doesn't seem to be any direct way of emailing a whole group from the iPad.
The Apple website talks up the ability to use Groups on the iPad but my guess is that a lot of users will be wondering how on earth to do it.

You cannot add a new user to your desktop. Each user account is independent. You add them with the Accounts system preferences. You need to do this from an administrator account.
Open the Accounts system preferences. Cliick the lock in the lower left and enter your admin password to the prompt. Now you can use the plus just above the lock to create another account.

How do you add a new address

This is crazy I can't find any way to add a new address to my address book in Mail. I want to type in a new address. I do not want to add an address from a received or sent Email. I checked Mail Help and it said to go to File > Card and enter the info. With the Address book open I go to File and it doesn't have any choice for Card. So how do I do this. In Outlook Express you simply click on new and enter the new address. I can't believe Apple has made this so obtuse.

You ask I want to type in a new address. I do not want to add an address from a received or sent Email.
OK, to do this open Address Book the application, not from Mail, but from the Dock if it is there, or from the folder Applications.
Now do you see the + sign?
In Mail when you click on the window menu > Addresses opens up, but that is not Address Book, just the addresses from it.

It would help to know what type of Buddy they are (AIM, Jabber or Yahoo) ?
It would also help to know which version of iChat you are using (Some (most) versions don't do Yahoo)?
Then we need to know what Screen Name or ID you have ?
This will tell us what sort of Buddy List you are trying to Add the person to.
AIM Buddies (Included @mac.com and @me.com names) can be set to Invisible in some version of iChat in in some other apps if they are not using iChat.
Also look in iChat menu > Preferences > Accounts > Security tab for your AIM accounts
There are variation as to who is allowed and who isn't allow to See you as On line.
This can be complicated by the settings at the Buddies end.
Jabber Buddy lists
When you add a Buddy here it sends an "Authorisation Request" fro them to be a Buddy.
They have to either Agree or Decline.
iChat sends this Request just once and if th Buddy does ot answer it they appear in the Off Line Section of your Buddy list (although they can text you and appear in Dark Text suggesting they are On line)
Jabber (Includes Google Talk and Facebook) cannot be set to Invisible.
It is best that you add the Buddy at an agreed time or use a third party app such as Psi that keeps sending Authorisation Requests until the person Accepts or Declines.
