Do you have activate a upgrade phone, if you do not want to use it?
I have upgraded my line, but I want to keep the phone I currently have. I was going to sell the upgrade phone I bought a Glaxay S3. The question, is do I have to actiavte on my line, or does it have a clean ESN in the box? Can anyone activate it, or do I have to activate and then deactivate the phone first? Any help would be appreacated. Thanks alot.

Did you transfer the telephone number from the old phone to the new phone? If you did, I don't see how you could still have cellular service, even if you turned it off in settings.

how do I get my passcode (not password) in my iphone5s sent to me via email. It's the one that is asked whenever you have to unlock the phone. I got used to having my thumb mark open it that I forgot it after my phone got recharged after it drained out. Apparently, the fingerprint won't do after the phone was drained and recharged again. The passcode has to be typed in. I don't usually allow my phone to drain out except this one time on a long trip. Hence I forgot my passcode and I prefer it being sent to me via my registered email. I know that if you enter it several times, the phone gets locked out over certain periods from 1 minute to 60 minutes so I don't want to take that risk. Any suggestions?
First, this is a user-to-user technical support forum, not a way to communicate with Apple.
That aside, no one can email your passcode to you because no one (not even Apple) knows it. The passcode exists in only one place - on the phone. You will have to restore the phone using the computer that you regularly sync it to. This will reinstall iOS, remove the passcode, and restore your most recent backup.

Doing a "full cycle" - charging to 100%, running until the phone auto-shuts down, and recharging to 100% recalibrates the battery meter. It does nothing for lithium ion battery longevity. -

When I now try to update the software via my phone it is saying I need 2.5GB of storage to download software but the additional storage is showing on iCloud.
To download the software on your iPhone, which is not related to your iCloud storage capacity. This has to do with the amount of free storage space on your iPhone.
You need to free up some storage space on your iPhone. If you have any movies or TV shows avaialble on your iPhone, the fastest way to free up some storage space is by deleting a movie or two and the same for TV shows, and/or remove some music, and/or some apps that you rarely if every use. After iOS 6 is installed, you can re-transfer the movies or TV shows, or music and apps. -

You have the iPhone 3GS, not the 3G. The last update to support the iPhone 3G is 4.2.1.
iOS 4.3.3 includes bug fixes etc. There is nothing really special about this update that wasn't introduced in iOS 4.3. iOS 5 is the one to wait for - it will be released in the Autumn/Fall and includes over '200' new features/improvements.
The additional text tines and ringtones were an iPhone 4-only feature. -

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.

itunes accounts are not the same as icloud accounts. It's okay to use the same ID for the itunes account on different devices owned by different users. That way you share purchased items. But for icloud, each user should have their own account if they want their own data, otherwise data is shared among all users.

Sailsbury1, when this prompt comes up I would expect to see a "yes", "no" and a checkbox at the bottom saying something to the effect of "don't ask me this again". If you do not check the box it will simply ask you every time you start up the device. When this prompt comes up, does it show you this checkbox? Does it show you more if you turn the device on its end (i.e. Can you see the checkbox then) ?

Add the music from your flash drive to your itunes media libary, then sync your phone to itunes.

When working in the basement for an extended period I get SOS message and have to turn my phone off and on before I can use it is this normal
