AT&T is only necessary if you have the 3G version of the iPad. The wifi only version is blissfully unaware of anything called AT&T! Even then, you still wouldn't have to use AT&T to use the 3G iPad, although there's no point in getting the 3G version and not using 3G, is there?
Not only do you not have to be a previous AT&T customer to get the 3G service, but it wouldn't make any difference if you were. You still have to sign up for one of the new iPad 3G plans from AT&T to get 3G service working on your pad. AT&T pointedly refused to allow the iPad to use the 3G service of the iPhone. So having the 3G iPhone doesn't do you any good either. There's no free piggy backing allowed.
Setting up 3G service is very easily done right on your iPad. It's done on a month by month basis (no contracts) so you can choose to skip a month or several months of service, should you like. It's either $30 for unlimited or $15 for a limited data usage version per month.
If your dad's going to get the 3G iPad, make sure there's AT&T service in his area or he won't be able to use the iPad's 3G. The 3G iPad's 3G service will work only through AT&T.

Sorry, but it is not possible to restrict use of specific apps other that the few restrictions provided in the Restrictions settings, not unless the app itself provides some sort of lock. If you don't want your child playing certain games, the only answer is to not load them on the iPad he uses.

i have apps to be updated but when i try to update them a message pops out saying "You have updates for other accounts, please sigh in with the other id". Can some one help me how can i still update the same with the new apple id ive created. As i dont have the access to the earlier id anymore.
You cannot. The apps are assigned to that Apple ID and there is nothing you can do to change that. You could choose to download them again with the new Apple ID, any paid apps will need to be purchased again.

I upgraded my new iPad (iPad 3) to IOS 6 and everything went well except Siri won’t launch apps. When asked say “launch Facebook” Siri responds with “it doesn’t look like you have an app named Facebook” and I get the same results when trying to launch any app. Siri works for everything else it just won’t launch apps. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have this same problem... Seems like nobody else does. Siri won't launch any apps for me, including native apps.

When I click "Puchases", the resulting display has a section headed "You Have 3 Apps to Accept" (see the attached screenshot)
I already have those apps installed, not via the App Store but from several releases of the OS over the years.
When I click "Accept", the standard dialog appears asking me to enter my AppleID & password.
I do, and the "Accept" button dims, and a busy cursor appears. After a *long* wait, the "busy" cursor disapears and the "Accept" button turns dark grey again.
Nothing else.
Clicking it again brings up the signin dialog again, and the whole process repeats. Over & over again.
Shut the computer down and reboot, open the App store, and nothing has changed -- the same "You have 3 Apps to Accept" message.
Help!When I bought this iMac it came equiped with 10.6. (Snow Leopard). I also had a MBP with 10.6 installed for which I had purchused and installed the boxed iLife DVDs as when I bought the MBP was prior to iLife being included.
When I started the new iMac the Setup Assistant asked if I wanted to transfer my apps/data/settings from another machine so I did from the MBP via FireWire. Maybe the Setup assistant overwote the iLife apps preinstalled?
BTW, this message from the App Store about accepting them is brand new -- I don't recall ever seeing it prior to now but I propbably haven't cliccked "Purchases" since maybe upgrading to 10.8.6.
OK, here's the real kickers:
(1) The Software Update function of the App Store continues to correctly offer me and perform updates to these components.
(2) On my MBP, which was recently updated to 10.8.5 too, the App Store doesn't display any dialog about "accepting" the iLife applications -- it just lists them as "Installed" (which they are).
So, how do I fix whever is wrong with the App Store or the iLife installation? -

The only app currently available for Blackberry is the HP ePrint Service.
However the app is not intended for the consumer user,
It will allow you to print to public printers locations or for large contracted organizations. it will not allow you to print to a printer on your home networkl.
In order to print to your own printer, the only possibility currently provided by HP is by emailing to any printer which support ePrint.

With Panorama/TabCandy, when you have some "App Tabs" isolated into a group then open a normal tabs included into antoher group. Clicking on an "App Tab" on the navigation bar makes the normal tabs disappear from this bar.
Panorama/TabCandy is in an early stage of development and has many open bug reports. One area that is being discussed is how App Tabs should be integrated into TabCandy, not surprisingly there are varying opinions.

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

They are not taking up storage space. Apple knows you installed them at one time (="purchased", whether you paid money or not), and merely keeps a list so that if you wish to reinstall any of them on this or a future device, you can. This is useful if maybe you deleted them due to space constraints, and now have a device with more memory and wish to reinstall.
It's also useful for taking a trip down Memory Lane looking at all the useless apps you installed once then immediately deleted once you realized they were total garbage ... -
i have just updated to the latest ios 5 and have lost apps and their data, can i reverse the new update to get back what i had on my ipad?
There is no need to do that, I had the same problem pal! Just do this and all should be fine!
Delete one of the app's and re-install it, then for some reason everythign is restored to as it was!

If you've already redeemed the card then it's balance should be on your account, you shouldn't need to-enter it - I've never had to re-enter any of mine.

If the icon exists on your screen, just do a long press on that icon and when the small X appears on top of the app, press it and it will delete it. As long as this is not an Apple app, since those cannot be deleted.

Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
