Do you have to deal with a CA to get digital certificates?
Hi,
I'm investigating the use of digital certificates for communication
between our WLS internally. I would like to be able to generate my own
certificates and keys for our testing purposes. I'm under the impression
that the only way to do this is to deal with a Verisign or somethin like
that and to buy a license. Am I correct? Or is there another way to do
this?

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

I upgraded my new iPad (iPad 3) to IOS 6 and everything went well except Siri won’t launch apps. When asked say “launch Facebook” Siri responds with “it doesn’t look like you have an app named Facebook” and I get the same results when trying to launch any app. Siri works for everything else it just won’t launch apps. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have this same problem... Seems like nobody else does. Siri won't launch any apps for me, including native apps.

when i search via mozilla i now have to go via mystart incredimail, which i thought i had uninstalled long ago, do you have any association with incredimail and is is now part of mozilla firefox 4 ?Hmmm, Norton extensions are broken again in Firefox 4.0.1. It seems that Norton didn't allow for Firefox 4.0 security updates when they updated their Firefox extension for Firefox 4.0. Norton says they'll have a fix in two weeks. A Norton user posted a fix in this forum thread.

Using the "if you have never synched with itunes" instructions, will I lose all data on the phone? That is the most important information, how to recover the data. The phone is fungible.
Thanks @ KiltedTim, but losing "only" any data is really not acceptable and, in this case, the phone had not been backed up, but thanks for taking the time. Also, yes, fungible means what I think it means. An iphone is a completely substitutible commodity, unlike my data, so instructions that inform me as to how to fix a phone I could replace for a small sum of money while failing to address the more important issue of the data are almost useless - they potentially save me the $99 it would cost me to replace the phone if I were so inclined to trust another apple product. Not worth the hour it took to find them or the 35 minutes on the phone to confirm my suspicions about the data.

Apparently some of your "good" add-ons do not work right with FF4. If you have a problem with YAHOO MAIL, start FF4 in Safe Mode (Restart with add-ons disabled from the Help menu). Then try your Yahoo again. If everything works, then the problem is with one of your add-ons. You can selectively work out which add-on is the problem. For a lot of these user problems, this should help... worth a try anyway.

Complelely independently, you have a Contacts app with a contacts list. It sounds like your contacts list has 3 names on it. You need to add a few names. -

1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

Our iMac was under warranty when it began freezing and or crashing. I have spent several hours on the phone with a supervisor and had the machine in 2x. We have also had a repair done in our home. The problems persist. We feel apple owes us a new computer. Help!!!
Do you have a written record of your attempts to get it repaired? When you took the machine "in" for repairs, did you take it to an Apple Store or to an Apple Authorized Reseller or Repair Facility, and do you have copies of invoices or statements showing what repairs were made? If the answers are yes, you need to be persistent in attempting to get a new computer. Ask to talk to the supervisor's supervisor to "escalate" the complaint to a higher level. Get copies of all your repair information and send a letter to the Apple Customer Service people in California and ask them for help.
If your iMac was under warranty when the problems started and the problems have not been resolved, your position should be that the problems should still be fixed or the computer replaced even though the warranty may have expired in the interim. Do you live in the US? If yes, your home state has a Consumer Protection agency. File a complaint with them and ask for their assistance in mediating and/or resolving the matter. -
Since when did you have to pay with a credit/debit card to pre-order a phone?
I went today with my husband to pre-order him an iphone 4S for Christmas and the guy would not take my cash. He had to have either a debit or credit card. He had no explanation as to why. I asked him several times and he didn't have an answer. Some customer service... Why wouldn't they take the cash? I'm hot over this. I've been a Verizonwireless customer for 15 years... I've never experienced this before. If my service wasn't so good, I'd consider leaving Verizon. What is the reason for this? Why isn't cash good enough?
Not a happy camper in Seattle.....Probably because you were ordering a back-ordered phone. If you use a card with a phone that they cannot deliver immediately, that could cause complications if something happens and they need to cancel your order. It is much easier to refund money to a card than to find you and refund the cash (which the store may not have on hand, because most people make purchases, especially large ones, on cards).
If you need to pay cash, call ahead to confirm the store's policy and purchase a phone that is in stock at the time. -
Do you have a problem with the buttons?
Buttons with multiple options for tools such as the eraser, are hard to activate unless you are very accurate with the pointer.
I think the "hotspot" should be larger so tools flow before you when pressed, and not having to make multiple stabs at the tools.
Any tips to make the buttons work better? I'm new to windows 7I don't if you have used photoshop before, but when you left click and hold on the buttons (tools) in the toolbox, it takes a split second for the menu of the hidden tools to appear.
You might try right clicking on the buttons (tools) in the toolbox and the menu will appear without lag.
