Do you have to leave the apple watch app open

I am awaiting my apple watch ordered late so have no idea when i will get it other than June. I had a pebble i liked it did the job till i had screen issues and returned it and preordered the 42mm space gray sport. One of the things i did not like about the pebble was having to leave the pebble app open on my phone for it to do most stuff can you close the apple watch app on the phone and still get 100% of the features from the watch.  I have also seen people post photos of their iPhone battery usage showing the apple watch app using a lot of battery from the phone i know it may be from playing with a new toy but could be the app running in the background or a bug.

As far as battery life goes, I have heard reports of the watch causing a darining, but have no clue how to fix it.
Regarding the app, not at all, the app is simply for pairing, settings on for the watch, rearranging the home screen, and downloading apps. It does not have to be on all the time to stay connected.

  • How do I get rid of the apple watch app that appeared on my phone when I updated my software?

The apple watch app is now on my phone and I'd like to remove it. I don't intend to get an apple watch and don't want the app

You cannot remove this app. It is a core app like the Clock, Health, Weather, etc.
You can move it to the last Home screen or put it in a folder so you don't have to deal with it.
    Cheers,

You can tell Apple at the link below.

  • Can I remove the apple watch app from my iphone?

With all the apps that Apple requires to be downloaded, it leaves little room for the apps I want or pictures or music.  Is there a way to delete this app or other apps I don't want/use that Apple puts on there?

It is a little different than the PC "bloatware" The Apple provided apps go back to the first iPhone and prior to Apple allowing third party apps. At that time the smartphones available (Blackberry, Treo) all included Mail, a browser, weather, and stocks apps so Apple did too. Apple also included the iTunes Store and Music apps since they operated a music store. Since then they have continued to offer these apps and have added Newsstand (really a folder), Passport ( a new feature that has to be tied to the OS due to sandboxing restrictions,a Clock, and Apple Watch. Stocks is included since the Blackberry was primarily used by businesses and Apple wanted to be able to include this market.
Once Apple opened up to 3rd party apps they could have dropped some of the included apps but they really don't take a lot of space and I would guess they are widely used. I know I use the included Stocks and Weather, they meet my simple needs and I have no reason to download another and learn it. Oddly if you read the iPad community when it was first released one of the biggest complaints (and it still pops up) is not included clock (now not applicable), weather and calculator apps. You just can't win.

  • When I got the IOS 8.2 update it did not come with the apple watch app like it said it wouldo

I went to settings and clicked on the IOS 8.2 update and when it restarted the apple watch which on the update discription said would be there wasn't there

The Apple Watch app is only on the iPhone. You can't pair a watch with a iPad even though it was included in the update.

  • Do you have to use the Apple RAM with the heatsink? Or can you use any 667 MGz DDR2 RAM?

I'm sprucing up my MacPro 2 x 2.66 GHz (hard drives, video card, & RAM) and would like to know if I have to use Apple's RAM with the heatsink on it.
Meaning, the RAM I end up purchasing, does it HAVE to have the heat sink on it? Or can I use any regular DDR2 667 MHz dimms?
I've been asking/researching and am getting mixed answers.
    Thanks for the help!

You MUST use RAM with both the large Apple-specified Heatsink AND the Apple approved Temperature Sensor. These are "tuned" to the airflow inside a Mac Pro. Modules must also be ECC modules, 72 data bits wide.
If you decide not to, the internal fans may not work properly, the modules will get too hot and will fail prematurely
The best way to solve this pronlem is to deal with a Vendor that knows Macs and can tell YOU which modules work in your Mac -- guaranteed or your money back if it does not work for any reason. And a lifetime warranty -- if it ever fails and still has their sticker on it, they will replace it, free.
There are a few one-off deals out there that may be a little cheaper, but the cost of dealing with reputable Mac-oriented Vendors does not add substantially to the price. And you do not get stuck with "you buy it, you own it" modules that do not work in your Mac.

  • Do you have to buy the nike plus app for nike plus to work

Do have to buy the nike plus app

No. Once you buy the Nike Sensor and follow the directions to set the sensor up with your supported iDevice, the Nike+ app required will automatically install/appear on your dashboard and is ready to use. Hope this helps out.

  • Do I have to leave the non-compatible apps in my itunes apps list?

I finally figured out how to download apps compatible with my ipad1 running 5.1.1, but 2 of the apps ended up not having a 5.1.1 version and would not install after downloading b/c they needed a newer version of the sotware.  They do, however, show up on the image of the ipad screen--but without an "x" to delete them.  So I  reinstalled them: they disappear from the ipad screen, after I acknowledge that again they won't install, yay!  But if I then delete them from the list of apps in the left column (in my laptop when syncing) they reappear on the ipad screen, sans "x" to delete them. Does this mean I have to leave these useless app in my list of apps in itunes on my laptop? Please advise!

Thanks for the reply, but I am still looking for an answer.  I have not been having trouble getting rid of the apps in itunes.  When the ipad is not connected, I can delete them.  When it is connected though, I cannot delete them from the sidebar in the sync window.  But if I do delete them when its not connected, then the deleted apps appear on the ipad screen: either as "waiting" to download, or just plain undeletable (no "x").

  • HT201602 Do you have to point the Apple Remote at the infrared sensor whilst using the remote?

As in it works wireless? I use HDMI to the TV to watch films etc. and would rather point at the television than the iMac located behind me to control content. Thinking of buying one, wont bother otherwise.
Unless there's a wireless device that can be plugged into a USB port on the iMac and receive infrared entries wirelessly from an IR receiver located under the television.. Thanks

  • How can i remove the apple watch app

this is yet another app i will never use, how can i remove it?

You can't remove it because the app is part of the system update and any app that is part of the software cannot be removed.
You can only hide it in a folder so that you can't see it.

  • On the Apple Watch, has anyone figured out a way (if possible) to remove some of the redundant auto responses available when using Messages?

There are some responses that always show which I would never use, such as BRB, that I'd like to completely remove. There are other responses that are excessively redundant. I don't need Thx, Thanks, Thank you. and Thanks! as separate available auto responses every single time. Anyone else had better luck figuring that out?
Overall I'm really liking the Watch so far. The only thing bringing it down is sone of those small details.

Visit the Apple Watch app, then go to My Watch > Messages > Default Replies.
You can add your own but there will still be Apple auto default replies too.
Kinda lame.  Hope there's a new option to get rid of those in the future. I'd rather ALWAYS dictate and not have those 'smart responses' there at all.

  • Go do I get te Apple watch app I did the latest and it didn't download on my phoneu

I am getting the Apple watch and the Apple watch app didn't download on my phone when I did te latest update and I heard it auto fownlo

The Apple Watch will require an iPhone 5 or newer, thus you will not see the App on your 4S.

  • Using the Apple store App

I downloaded the Apple store App but can't find the product scanning function. Do I have to be in the store for this to be enabled?

If you are referring to the Apple Store app from Apple for iOS devices, then you are posting in the wrong ASC forum, this is the Mac App Store forum for Mac apps for Mac computers.
In the articles that I have read about the new Apple Store app it mentions the in store scanning and purchasing as being for the iPhone 4 and 4S. I have not seen other iOS devices mentioned.

  • IPhone 6+ won't go to sleep after using Apple Watch App

I noticed that since I own the Apple Watch my iPhone 6+ battery drains very quick. Currently "Home & Lock Screen" and "TuneIn Radio" are using the most battery (although I force-killed all apps). Another thing I noticed is that my iPhone won't go to sleep after the configured 2 minutes. It just stays on sucking on the battery.
After I restart the iPhone everything is back to normal. I believe the problems start the moment I launch the Apple Watch App on the iPhone.
    Will do some tests...

I'm having the same issue even after the 8.1.3 update. It's not from my carrier because I used a different carrier and noticed the same issue.
My short term fix has been putting my phone on airplane mode then off.
If any one knows a solution, please let me know.
    Thank you.
