Do you have to pay for the macbook upgrade?

Hey guys! I recently bought a used MacBook os x 10.5.8, I changed the admin user ( http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-73393-change-mac-admin-password-without-the-d isk ) And now I want to access the mac app store, but now I hear that you have to upgrade your mac to do that, but before upgrading I have one question: Do you have to pay for the upgrade, because people say that you have to pay 30$ and on the youtube I see that you can easily press the "Software update" and you just folow some further steps such as ''next'' , wait few minutes and it's done ! So I don't get it !!! or maybe if you entered the credit card details on iTunes it will charge you automatically ?  Yeah, that's my question

correct:Snow Leopard retail disc

  • Do you have to pay for the internet?

I apologize to the savvier iphone users who will surely find this question to be basic far beyond their patience - but I’ll ask anyways…
I’m in need of two things at the moment:
    1) A phone.
    2) An ipod.
(Both my current phone and ipod are outdated and no longer of use to me.)
I use my ipod and phone a lot (at the gym, in my car, etc…) and it just seems so functional to have the ipod and the phone in one solid entity.
I want an iphone but I don’t want (or rather need) the internet. Can I simply purchase the iphone and have a mobile phone that also plays my music (without having to pay for the internet features)?
    Thanks.

Okay (and thank you for your response).
So, given that I am not interested in the “internet” aspect of the phone, but rather I’m more interested in the “phone” and “ipod” part…is the “activation and unlimited data plan” one initial cost or is it a monthly cost? And how much is that cost (obviously I’m only asking for estimations - I won’t hold anyone accountable for any imprecise numbers)?
Here’s the thing…I want the iphone. As I’ve said, I’m fond of the idea of having my phone and ipod in one. But, I’m not interested in the internet portion of the phone. However, if the cost for an “activation and unlimited data plan” is not very expensive, then perhaps I will go through with getting the iphone. If the cost for the “activation and unlimited data plan” is expensive, then I will probably decide that the iphone isn’t right for me and instead just buy a new ipod and a new phone separately.
    Any help?

  • Do you have to pay for the downloads that you download off of iCloud?

Ok so my hard drive crashed itself and I lost all of my iTunes songs/apps. So I was thrilled to find out that there was this thing called iCloud. So I downloaded all of my previous purchases. I didn't think about this until now but do I have to pay for those purchases again!?! I am freaking out right now because that is over 500 dollars that I would have to pay!!! I looked on  the previous purchase page on my iTunes account and it doesn't record me downloading my songs/apps a second time. Does that mean that I am not charged? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, if you had previously purchased them it's free to download them again

  • Do you have to pay for Pages if it didn't come with the computer?

I just got my computer just this night, and I realized that it didn't have pages or keynote.  My dad and I have been trying to look online for a download, but only saw the one at the app store for $20 for only pages.  I don't know if I would have to send it in for them to install pages for free?  Or if I could just use google docs, and put the document on my iCloud.

Did you buy the computer new? If you did, then those apps should have come pre-installed. If you bought a pre-owned computer then yes you have to pay for the apps.

  • HT201238 How many months do you have to pay for 20gb data

I Would like to know how long you have to pay for the storage

It's every month, unless or until you decide to cancel your subscription and revert to the free 5Gb storage.  I've just had to upgrade to the 200Gb option because of the new Photos app, and figure that it's going to cost me £36 a year, which I'm going to have to live with.

  • HT4436 Do you have to pay for cloud services?

Do you pay for cloud services??

No iCloud's services are free (5 GB storage for your data. Purchased music, movies, apps, books, TV shows and your Photo Stream don’t count against your free storage). If you need more storage capacity you have to pay for the additional space.

  • I just bought a Mac Book Pro and why do I now have to pay for the OS X upgrade?

I just bought a Mac Book Pro about a month ago and now I have to pay for the OS upgrade!!! Is there anyway to avoid this charge?

Click on the  in the top left corner, then About This Mac. The version number will be listed right under OS X.
If it is something like 10.8.3 or 10.8.4 (anything starting with 10.8.x), you can click Software Update to download 10.8.5 for free.

  • If you get an iPad with the 3G do you have to pay for internet service?

If you get an iPad with the 3G do you have to pay for internet service?

No. But you have to purchase a data plan in order to use the iPad via the 3G connection. Some 3G iPad owners do not have internet service at home and rely only on the 3G connection.
If you do not purchase a data plan to use with the 3G, then you will only be able to use your iPad where you can find a WiFi connection - like at a library, or a Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, a friend's house that has WiFi .....

  • Will I have to pay for the OS Lion Update?

So I just recently purchased a 13" Macbook Pro, it arrived yesterday, 5/6. I will be away and won't be able to open and start it up until June 1st.
WWDC is only a few days after I will have had the computer. I'm not very familiar with it, but I assume I register the MBP to my Apple account on startup?
Will I still have to pay for the OS Lion Update, if/when they announce the OS less then a week later?
I could see them, Apple, having a grace period for this kind of thing and just want some opinions...
    Thanks!

You will have to pay. I doubt you will see Lion until summer.

  • HT1473 If I already own a song (from a different album) and the same song is in an album which I want to get, do I still have to pay for the song?

    Other details:
First album/s- Dookie (Green Day), american idiot (green day)
and 21st century breakdown (green day)
Album with same songs in it- international super hits (green day)

If I already own a song (from a different album) and the same song is in an album which I want to get, do I still have to pay for the song?
    Yes.
The album which the song has been listed under (on the song's page) is listed in your library under that album. The song is then removed automatically from the first album
    No it's not.
Purchasing a new song or album will not affect any other song or album in your library.
In the case of the two albums you mention, if you purchase them both, you will have the same song (different copies) in both albums.

  • Do you have to pay for facetime on ipod touch?

im getting wifi soon and i saw facetime and i want to know do you have to pay for facetime on the ipod touch

As far as I know Facetime in included in the Ipod. At least mother her Ipod has it.
You don't have to pay anything. It is free as it uses your wifi. So the only thing you will pay is you internet connection.
I use it a lot between my Ipad and my mother her Ipod Touch
    Have fun

  • Do you have to pay for a battery service?

Do you have to pay for a service of your macbook battery? Bearing in mind I do not have an AppleCare package.

Warranty for battery is limited to just 1 year.
    That covers only "manufacturing defect".

  • Do you have to pay for a refurbished iPad if your iPad is still has warranty ?

Do you have to pay for a refurbished iPad if your iPad is still has warranty ? Or something like that ?

Have you done any basic troubleshooting at all to see if you can fix this? Have you tried rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If there is a fault with the iPad and you did not cause the damage, as long as the device is under Warranty it will be replaced at no cost, but I'm sure that Apple will want to try some basic troubleshooting steps as well before they simply declare the device faulty.
