Do you have to pay to get your macbook pro headphone jack fixed?

it has windows 7 software by the way

Is it under warranty? If it is and the damage was not caused by misuse then no. Otherwise yes.

  • Do you have to pay to get your music back if your computer deleted itunes?

My computer had got jacked up, and deleted my itunes and now I can't find my music. I called and they said I had to pay a fine to get it back? Is that true or can't I just get it back since I have an account.

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading.  For songs, movies, and videos, if your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content on an iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
BTW, this forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store, which is probably why you didn't get a reply last night. Normally you want to ask your questions in the general iTunes forums.
    Regards.

  • If you lose your ipod touch and you have a warranty how much would you have to pay to get a new one?

if you lose your ipod touch and you have a warranty how much would you have to pay to get a new one?

Full price. Warranty covers only manufacturing defects, not you losing the iPod.
Perhaps homeowners insurance of your credit card plan, if you used a credit card to purchase the original iPod, might cover all or part of the cost.
    Regards.

  • I was just wondering how old do you have to be to finance a macbook pro

hi i was just wondering how old do you have to be to finance a macbook pro, im in high school and i im always doing projects with my friend, and since im always at their house i wanted to get a macbook so i can bring what i wroute and others stuff to their house. Also how much money would it cost to finance it.

    Forget about financing a Mac.
If you can't afford to pay big boy cash up front + AppleCare + tax + backup drives + third party software + OS X annual upgrades + annual third party software upgrades + case + adapters + this and that... etc.
Then you really shouldn't be getting one because money is already too tight for you and there is a lot of other costs besides the sticker price that can even exceed the sticker price.
I've paid over $10,000 over 10 years for Mac's and associated software and hardware.
My Windows XP Dell Tower using friend used the same $600 machine over that same time frame, perhaps to $1000, paid for a few changes, RAM upgrades etc., but nothing even close to what I have spent on Mac's.
    Mac's are for the rich.
A Windows 7 laptop will do you just fine for $400 at any office store and perform just the same as a 13" MacBookPro costing $1500 + $400 in AppleCare and Tax, they are almost idential performance wise except for the name and the case.
If you want to 3D game, get a $250 PlayStation 3 or Xbox. Boom your done for under $1000
If you finance, then your looking at spending $3000 for a $1500 computer that can be lost or stolen, some jerk spills a liquid on the keyboard and fries it in seconds.
You still have to pay off the $3000 loan.

  • How do you know what kind of ssd your macbook pro has?

I have an older macbook pro (the one with a intel core 2 duo) but I don't know which kind of ssd it has. I checked system profiler but I did not see it. I have not upgraded it so I am assuming this is the default ssd. I want to also upgrade the ssd, but nor sure which one is good. I was thinking OCZ Vertex SATA II 2.5'' (not sure what size 50-480 gb).

Go to System Profiler > SERIAL-ATA > Then you will have the Model numbers - Just google them & you should get your drive!

  • How do you do a master reset on your macbook pro os x

i want to to reset my macbook pro back to the factory condtions how do i do that

Restoring Your Computer to Its Factory Settings
When you restore your computer to its factory settings, everything on your computer
(your user accounts, network settings, and all of your files and folders) is deleted. Before
you restore, back up any files you want to keep by copying them to another disk.
Write down your network settings from Network preferences to make it easier to get
connected again after reinstalling Mac OS X.
1 Make sure you’re connected to the Internet by using an Ethernet or Wi-Fi network.
2 In the Mac OS X Utilities pane, select Disk Utility and click Continue.
3 Select the disk in the list on the left, and then click the Erase tab.
4 Select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format pop-up menu, type a name for
the disk, and then click Erase.
5 After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
6 In the Mac OS X Utilities pane, select Reinstall Mac OS X and click Continue.
7 To reinstall Mac OS X and your applications, follow the instructions in the Mac OS X
    Installer
After restoring Mac OS X and your Apple applications, you can selectively restore your
other data and applications from a Time Machine backup.

  • Can you replace the top part of your macbook pro?

My macbook pro has some scratches and a small dent on the top and was wondering if you are able to replace this? If not, what are other options?

Yes, the display assembly can be replaced for anywhere from a few hundred to more than a thousand dollars, depending on model. Under no circumstances is this a sensible, worthwhile investment if the only reason for doing it is minor cosmetic damage.

  • How do you download windows and powerpoint on your macbook pro?

    PLEASE HELP!!!

You either have to use BootCamp to create a partition for Windows or install virtualiztion software to run Windows.
But there is really no need to do that if you get a copy of Office for Mac. That will install on OS X directly.

  • I have both an iMac and a Macbook Pro and I want to set up a dual monitor with them. How would I do that exactly?

Still not sure. Been trying to find out but can't get it working.
Do I use a specfic cable to connect the two, could it possibly work with bluetooth? Please help

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
27-inch iMacs and iMacs with Thunderbolt can be used as an external display > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302
If you have a iMac with Thunderbolt, your MacBook Pro must be an Early 2011 or newer one in order to use your iMac as an external display. You have to buy a Thunderbolt cable.
If you have a iMac with Mini DisplayPort, your MacBook Pro must have Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt. In both cases, buy a Mini DisplayPort cable.
If you don't meet one of those cases, you can't use your iMac as an external display. In this case (and if you want to use the MacBook Pro as an external display), you can use an app like ScreenRecycler to use an unsupported Mac as a display

  • If i have pages on my iPod, do i have to buy it on my macbook pro?

I'm confused because on iPod i can buy an app once and have it on two/ three other ipod... AND i only have to buy it once.
But then i got a macbook pro and now i want pages(i already bought it on my iPod) but it says it cost 19.99???
On iPod if youve already bought it then it just says install. So i dont want to get charged for somthing i already bought.
So someone tell me if it will charge me or not!?

You have to buy Pages again for MacBook Pro.
Pages for MacBook Pro and Pages for iPad are two different versions.
One is Mac OS X version and the other iOS version.

  • If you get an iPad with the 3G do you have to pay for internet service?

If you get an iPad with the 3G do you have to pay for internet service?

No. But you have to purchase a data plan in order to use the iPad via the 3G connection. Some 3G iPad owners do not have internet service at home and rely only on the 3G connection.
If you do not purchase a data plan to use with the 3G, then you will only be able to use your iPad where you can find a WiFi connection - like at a library, or a Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, a friend's house that has WiFi .....

  • Can't get into talk talk email account in Mozilla, you have undefined new mails in your inbox message. No problem with Internet Explorer though

I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: [http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=185113#post2452787 Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums].
Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
    Does it work?
