I have tried creating a clean account, but the same thing keeps happening. I have also noticed that Spotlight re-indexes almost every time I have to restart.
Thanks in advance for the help! (BTW, I am posting this from another computer...)

    Okay, here is the latest.
I ran both the Apple Hardware Test and Rember to check the system. Both checked out fine.
I used Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup. It had no trouble making the backup, but it wouldn't boot the machine.
I then used the Leopard Retail disc (10.5.1) and Disk Utility to erase my HD. I used the Zero-out method.
As I am sitting here right now, the "You need to restart" screen just came up. This is after starting up with the DVD and erasing the HD.
    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks!!

I was making a movie on iMovie, and was trying to use the green screen to make a split screen. I pressed on the green screen button, but the second clip didn't play next to the first, and only the audio played. I tried again with some different clips and some worked and some didn't. This hasn't happened before. What should I do? (I am using iMovie '09)

No guarantess but try smc and pram resets,

do you need ipad 4 screen protector

You don't need one, it's just personal choice and possibly how/where you will be using it (e.g. if it will be in a dirty environment you may want some extra protection). I have one on my iPad 3 as it gives it a little bit of extra protection and I prefer it to the touch of the glass - but other people don't like the feel of them and don't use them.

Can I make the background transparent?
So when I embed a flex app on a web page the background should automatically be the same as the surrounding html web page.
If yes: How do I specify transparency?

    Hi(Bonjour)!
There a plenty of post on this subject in this forum.
Do a simple search in this forum with "green screen, chroma keying, blue screen, lighting, effect" keywords.

  • Green screen edges blend into background

I'm trying to use the green screen effect and I'm able to get everything to work however the foreground images are blending into the background images.  There is no distinct edges between what is the foreground and the background.

    Hi  TCorpSoc,
According to your description, I do a test, in SQL Server 2008 SSMS or other versions, the colors in the panes or dialog boxes are a grey that is different from white. You can clear to recognize two colors. However, in SQL Server 2012 SSMS, they use whitish
grey and grey. It is indeed barely visible. In SSMS, there is not exist the user interface for customizing the environment colors of the panes or dialog boxes.
Although you can establish a custom font and color scheme for various user interface elements in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio via the options about “Environment/Fonts and Colors Page”, it is not include the user interface elements
of panes or dialog. You can change font style, size, and color display settings for Text Editor, Printer, Find Results Window, Output Window, Execution Plan and so on. Note that color scheme changes do not take effect during the session in which you
make them. You can evaluate color changes by opening another instance of SQL Server Management Studio and producing the conditions under which you expect your changes to apply.
For more information about options (Environment/Fonts and Colors Page),you can review the following article.

  • How to key a green screen separately from motion background

Using FCP7.  I have an animated background running throughout the sequence (it's on Video Track 1).
When I place a greeenscreen interview on top of that (on Video Track 3) and a solid color background for the key behind that (on Video Track 2), the solid color background covers up the animation.
How do I key the interview and maintain the animated background?
Please tell me I don't have to build it as separate sequences.

It is not clear from your post what you are trying to do.
    Screen shots would help.
If you want the area that is green on track 3 to reveal the animation, why are you  putting a solid background on V2?
If the animation has transparency, and is also supposed to be over the the solid color background, then the order for the tracks should be:
V3 - Video with green screen with keyed applied
    V2- Animation
    V1- Color Background

  • Make table background transparent

i am new to dreamweaver and new to website creating , this is an easy question but i just cant work it out...
i have a background picture then i have a table with text, i want to change the background from a solid color to a near transparent look so the background image comes through a little bit.
i guess i click bg at the bottom of the screen. when i go to this the third bar seems like it changes the transparency (which is what I want) however i cant seem to get the change to stick
i change the state off the third slider that will change the 'alpha' but whenever i go back to this screen the slider is all the way to the top again

Tables are not typically used for layouts anymore (except for e-mails).  That's the old school approach.  Nowadays, we use CSS layouts like the start-up pages that come with DW.
Go to File > New > Blank page > HTML.  Pick a layout from 3rd panel & hit Create.
Who is your target audience?  Pre-IE9 users on older equipment or modern browsers/mobile/tablet users?  Once you establish who your target audience is, that's who you need to build your sites for.
I haven't used PNG transparent images for backgrounds in quite a while.  I don't feel I need to because all modern browsers and mobile devices can easily support RGBA colors or CSS gradients.  See links below for examples.

  • Can I make image backgrounds transparent

Is there a way in AW drawings, to make it so that every thing WHITE in an image I make is actually transparent when used (pasted) OVER another background, like a web page?
In OLD AW, items saved as GIF would do this. AW 6 does not support gif I guess. A previous post I made, a reader said that the PNG format would be transparent. However, I was not able to make this work.
    Suggestions?
    JON

AppleWorks doesn't handle transparency well, even using formats such as .gif or .png saved with transparent backgrounds in another application. However, a few years ago I accidentally discovered that if an object is flipped or rotated in AppleWorks, the background will become transparent. The object doesn't even have to be .gif or .png & have transparency. Unfortunately, the last few times I tried this, it no longer worked, but it may for you.
Once I discovered this, I used GraphicConverter to flip an image horizontally & save it as a PICT. Then I insert the object in my AppleWorks document & flip it back. I use PICT because it is the only graphic format that will retain the native resolution. All other graphic formats are changed to 72 dpi by AppleWorks.

  • Make white background transparent

This Q must be very old. Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.
    thanks

Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object
Place the object on its own layer -  Layer menu>new>layer via copy or CTRL+J
Place a blank layer between the background layer and the layer with the object, then place your new background on this blank layer.
You should have 3 layers: Background layer that you started with, the blank layer with substitute background, layer with object at top.
    Here I selected the swan
Placed a blank layer below the layer with the swan
Filled this layer with a gradient for demonstration.

  • Using "green screen" and lightroom-changing backgrounds?

Hi, I have the lightroom 4 program and am trying to take my green background out of the photo so that i can add a different background. Can anyone help me with this? I cant find an answer anywhere..

For example, what do I need to download in order to have a "pixel based editor"?
Answer already provided. There are many such programs, like Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. If you'd like a freeware solution, try Gimp.

  • How do I make a background transparent?

I'm a total newcomer to Photoshop - I'm learning to use it in school. For my current project, I have an image of a galaxy on a black background. I need to make it seem like the galaxy is in front of another object. So what I thought was:
    - Make the black part of the galaxy transparent.
    - Move the galaxy over the other object.
How do I do this? Is it even possible?

Grant offers valid advice if you are still in the early stages of your acquaintance with Photoshop.
Are the stars basically white or do they appear colorful?
If white I suppose the »easiest« way would be to
    • load the transparency by command-clicking the compopsite channel in the Channels Panel
    • Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color and select white in the Color Picker
    • add a black Solid Color Layer behind that as background to hide the original image and insert your other image between the two Solid Color Layers (File > Place or drag it from the Layers Panel onto the canvas).
But likely the image will be more complex than that.
    Still you could start by
    • loading the channel with the best contrast as a Selection by command clicking it in the Channels Panel
    • apply that as a Layer Mask to the image (if it is a Background Layer just double-click it)
    • alt-click the Layer Mask in the Channels Panel to view the Mask alone
    • invoke Image > Adjustmenst > Curves or Levels and use that dialog to increase the contrast so that the non-galaxy-parts are black
    • insert the other image below that
This may when superimposed on the new image have grayish, dark edges, though.
To adress that you could try using the Refine Edge-dialog Decontaminate feature or paint on a separate Clipping Masked Layer.
    Other options might be to
    • set the Layer itself to Blend Mode Screen or
    • set a duplicate below the Layer to Blend Mode Screen and mask the higher one tighter
But unless you post the two images in question (or lores thereof) it’s pretty much impossible to say what the best course of action might be.

  • Is there a way to make the background transparent ..

... so that i can import the rendered movie into keynote and not have black visible?
Project: I have photographs that need to dissolve into each other and play like a movie. The photos are not all the same shape (horizontal, vertical and square) so that when I bring them into FCP, of course to accommodate the various shapes there is space around them, which is black.
I want to export the movie to play in a Keynote presentation but i want the slide background to be visible as the photos transform from horizontal ones to the vertical ones. How can I do this?
In Livetype, when i render a movie I can tell it not to render the background, then I get a transparent effect to import into FCP or Keynote. but I don't think I can dissolve photos into each other without putting them on separate layers and adjusting opacity ... not time efficient for me, especially with over 100 photos to work with in all.
I suppose if push comes to shove i can export the slide background to FCp and just layer it under the photos, but I was hoping to try the transparency route. (would it mean making a mask for each photo?)
Any advice would be helpful, thank you
    Elizabeth

I followed your instructions last night and made a little trial movie, imported into Keynote, and it's just what I wanted! Perfection!
    Thank you very much.
