Do you need to back up iPhone before downloading I0S7?

I'm not sure if I need to back up my phone before updating? Yes or no?

It would be a great idea if you intend to restore the phone from a backup. Otherwise you will have to set the phoen up as a new device.

you can download adobe trial software whenever you like.  if you have an adobe id (your email address) that you used to sign-up for a cc subscription, your email address should already have been verified.

  • What peripherals do you need to turn your iPhone into a conference room speakerphone?

What peripherals do you need to turn your iPhone into a conference room speakerphone system?
If you buy a separate conference mic and a speaker, can they somehow work together off the iPhone headphone jack like a huge set of group earphones?  What if you want to connect 2 mics and a speaker?
Do you have to be very careful that they can all be attached somehow at the same time?
Are there reasonably priced conference room speakerphone peripherals the work well together that you would recommend?

Why don't you contact Apple and find out?  Certainly if you can find your way around the internet to have been able to find this forum, you can certainly find the number for AppleCare.

  • Do you need to sync the iPhone through iTunes if you sync over the air?

Do you need to sync the iPhone through iTunes if you sync over the air?
My MacBook Pro and iPhone 3G with OS 4 synchronize with each other over the air through my Snow Leopard Server. Though when I connect it to iTunes I see that it allows me to checked "Synchronize with this computer" type options and I'm confused as to why that would be if they're synchronizing over the air.
Can someone help clarify when those should be checked? Because I do want everything that's on my computer synchronized with my iPhone and vice versa, but if I add the accounts on my phone manually that seems to work too.

In regards to syncing contacts and calendar events, if you are syncing this data over the air on your iPhone and the contacts and calendar events synced over the air on your iPhone match the Address Book and iCal data on your Mac, there is no reason to sync this data direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.

  • I synced my iphone before downloading newest update and now I've lost my purchased ringtones.  How do I retrive them?

I synced my Iphone before downloading the newest update and lost all my purchased ringtones.  How do I get them back and what do I do differently next time so it doesn't happen again?

I'm having the same problem.  Mine do not show up in the purchased apps.  It seems like I had this problem before with a different upgrade & was able to resolve it by emailing the question to Apple directly.  Now I can't seem to find how to do that on their website or if it's even an option.  I guess we're just supposed to solve these problems ourselves.

    Verify a disk
As an alternative, you can verify that the filesystem on the disk is correct. You will not be able to repair the file system.
I suggest that you use disk utility to verify that your startup disk is OK.
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
Start up disk utility.  On the left pane view, you will see a list of all your disks.
    Click on your startup disk.
Click on the First Aid  Tab.
    Click on verify.
Hopefully your disk will verify.  If not, you have to boot from your installation DVD and run Disk Utility from there to attempt to repair your file-system.

  • My Pro is in the repair shop and I need to back up iPhone as it's developed a fault. How do I do it on old laptop so I keep all the photos

so I have a phone that needs urgent back up as I really want to keep the content.  It's been a month since last back-up and there are photos/videos of the kids I want to keep.  the machine I usually back-up to has a problem with the graphics card and is with Apple and then my Iphone 3GS started playing up.  Took  that in and Apple said they need to replace the whole unit.  I need to back up my phone to an old laptop that I have just installed iTunes to.  I did the right click on the iPhone in iTunes and selected back-up and this took about 10 mins.  My question is that if I get my replacement device and hook up to the laptop and restore from back-up will all my pics and apps be there? (not worried about music as have that all in library on my pro)  Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks Felicity

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • Do I have to back up files before downloading OS X Lion?

Hi Guys im really need some quick advice.
Im looking to upgrade from snow leopard to OS X Lion, do i need to back up my hard drive before doing so? I've just started up as a freelance graphic designer and i've not yet got all my files backed up and im worrie dif i download Lion it'll wipe my file and documents out.
I've got a feeling it's going to be as simple as downloading an app right?? But i just want to make sure. My terabyte hard drive pack in last year and i've yet to by a new one due to lack of funding!! So im really really paranoid about doing this.
Is anyone able to advise me on if i should do this or not?? Im desperate for Lion and even more so Mountain Lion when it's launched this year.
Thank you so much guys, sorry if i sound like a complete newbie and a novice, im just paranoid!

Also can any one reccomend a good desktop hard drive? Preferably 750-terabyte.
    I hope meant 750 gigabyte and not 750terabyte.  750terrabyte
would be a small server farm!
Anyway, for external drives, I personally use devices
from Seagate, Iomega, and G-drive.  All of them have seemed
very reliable for backup and just external storage.  Avoid
Western Digital products.  I have always had very bad luck
with them and avoid their products like the plague.
I currently have a pair of 2TB Seagate GoFlex desktop
drives for media and media backup connected to my
Airport Extreme and they have been performing without
    issue.
If you are depending on your computer for business, it is
IMPERATIVE to have a clone back up of your system.
It is the price of of a computer based business and
the cost down the road will be much higher than the cost
of the drive if something goes wrong and you can't get
    back up and running immediately.
Remember, one of the articles of Murphy's Law states
that things will fail at the worst possible time.

  • Do i have to back everything up before downloading lion?

i am thinking of updating my macbook to OS X lion but i dont know if i have to back it up first? can anyone who downloaded lion please help

Actually, you can buy OS X Lion in the App store -- you have to have Snow Leopard installed -- and it will down load the Mac OS X Lion Installer, about 3.8 GB.  At that point, once its finished, it is just another file in your Applications folder.  It is a very good idea to clone your MacBook hard drive at this point -- it will preserve not only your files but the installer file, which disappears after installation !
You can also make an emergency boot disk from the Installer file before updating with the MacBook's DVD burner.  Google for instructions.
Since Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner makes a bootable copy of your hard drive, you can always get to any of your old data OR use it to repair any disk errors on your internal drive.  (Super Duper has been updated for Lion; I haven't checked for Carbon Copy Cloner.)  An external USB drive can be purchased for $100 or less now.  See Other World Computing for external drives that run off the USB or Firewire bus power, no AC power required.  They make backup and recovery painless.

  • HT2693 Do you HAVE to backup the computer before downloading a newer operating system?

I need to update my operating system. Is backup always required. How can I speed up the backup?

Do you not backup regularly anyway?  If not, the backup may be very slow as you have a lot of stuff to backup.
Making any changes to any operating system or firmware on any computing device without a backup in hand is simply asking for disaster to smack you on the forehead.
