Do you need to install i work on your mac for i cloud to work

do you need to install i work on your mac for pages to work in i cloud ?

Yes, but iWork isn't iCloud aware yet though. If you use Pages on the iOs device and want to be able to see it on your computer you do need Pages at least.

and - check with Adobe - would strongly suspect you need to upgrade CS. Strongly consider Creative Cloud, access to the entire TypeKit alone is amazing.

  • When I try and open adobe illustrator I get a pop up message saying "To open "Adobe Illustrator CS6" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime."

When I try and open adobe illustrator I get a pop up message saying "To open “Adobe Illustrator CS6” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." it also says "Click “More Info…” to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website." When i click more info it transfers me to an apple page which never loads, its just a blank page. I downloaded Java SE 6 like it says it needs but it did nothing. All of my other Adobe programs such as bridge, dreamweaver, lightroom, Photoshop, indesign, and flash all work except for illustrator. What can I do to fix this?

Go to Apple and look for the Java for OSX 2014-001 link. Download from there and install it.

The error message reads " to open Adobe illustrator CS5.app, you need to install a JAva SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check and install one? I try to install but get the error" download error". As far as i know I'm using Adobe Java 7. None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.

This goes for Dreamweaver CC on Mavericks!!!!! THANK YOU!
I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked  OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

  • I have already installed and used Photoshop, but ended up resetting my Mac one day (it took like 2 hours). Every since then, whenever I try to open Photoshop or Fireworks it gives me this message: To open "Adobe Fireworks CS6," you need to install a Java

I have tried rebooting, signing in and signing out, installing Java and even testing the Java to make sure it's running properly (and it is), and nothing is working.

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 error - you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.

I have PS 5.1 on my Mac. After I installed Yosemite, it will not work. I get an error saying "To open “Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.app” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." According to Java, I have the latest Java. I contacted Apple and they said to uninstall PS 5.1. I reinstalled with no change. Any ideas? FYI - PS 5.1 work on my Macbook with no errors.
This is frustrating as I cannot use the software. Any help is appreciated.

    Install this:
    Java for OS X 2014-001
    Reinstall CS5.1

  • Photoshop CS4 - Windows XP Pro - Message reads: 'Before you can perform printer related tasks .... you need to install printer.

All of a sudden, my CS4 Photoshop will not print. It gives me the message "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." What has happened? I cannot get into any of the print or page setup menus to change preferences so where do I go from here?

I just updated my Canon MG3500 series printer driver through Canon support. Printer worked fine, but I could not print from Photoshop.
I followed all the links and the instructions on the Adobe help site, but could not go past the "Print" box in my Photoshop CS4, so none of the other information could be applied.
I could open images in Adobe Illustrator, and print from that program, but 99% of my image work is in Photoshop.
    I found a link at http://yourbusiness.azcentral.com/printer-not-found-photoshop-cs4-11574.html
That information advised to locate the Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file and rename it to Prefs.psp.old, because when you recreate your preferences file, PhotoShop deletes the custom settings associated with the file.
It threw up a warning when I changed the name, but I figured I could always change it back. After shutting down the computer and printer, restarting both and opening Photoshop CS4 I was able to open the print dialog box and print photos again.
    Hope this helps.

I get the message, "To open 'Adobe Illustrator CS5.1.app' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. What to do?

Sorry, I didn't say it damages Java.
Yes, I know. You were quoting from a post on Adobe's site.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it wasn't since Mountain Lion.
Yes, I think that's correct. Apple stopped installing Java as part of the OS after Lion. If you check the installers for Mountain Lion through Yosemite, there are a lot of root Java processes OS X still installs, or Java wouldn't work at all. It's just the actual runtime environment no longer installs. The user has to do that.
that the application files are damaged. They are not talking about JAVA itself.
What application files? Do you mean the Adobe apps themselves? If so, yes, it's been reported that the CS5 and CS6 apps in particular usually need to be reinstalled after upgrading OS X to Yosemite. That's actually an old problem that isn't a Yosemite only issue.

After posting my concern/question, especially in regards to the optical drive, I read this on this forum:
    Jul 11, 2011 5:21 AM
I would like to update my macbook pro from Tiger to Snow Leopard, but my optical drive is not working. Can I take my macbook pro into the apple store and have them install it via a portable drive?
MacBook Pro, Optical drive is no longer working
Another poster replied, "Yes, I believe they will."
Is this true? Can someone verify this?  Any idea of cost?  I really don't need my optical drive.  Besides, end of year, I'm getting a new Mack Book Pro.

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?
    thx for any input

  • To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.

Recently updated to OSX Yosemite.  Now every time I turn the computer on I get this message.
To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
I don't know what CS5ServiceManager is.  And when I click on the "More Info" button, I am redirected to a blank screen.  So I'm confused and a little worried.  Is it necessary to install Java SE 6 runtime?  If so, I think I can find the instructions on how to do it, but I'd like to know if (1) it is safe to do so and (2) if it's necessary.

Here it is: Apple Java 2014-001. Quite safe to install. Only necessary if you are using Adobe's CS5 suite.
