Do you really have to submit a payment method to create an apple-id?

Hello,
I was trying to create an apple-id for my brother just a while ago when I noticed something very starnge. It seems that you have to have a method of payment in order to reate an account. My brother is not allowed to use a credit card nor has he recieved a gift certificate but he still wants an apple-id so that he can acctually download some free aps for his iPad. So is apple telling me that my brother can't use their services because he doesn't have any money to spend or is there a way to get an apple-id without having a method of payment. I feel really conserned if there is no way to attain an account without a method of payment since I think it's really weird that they don't allow such people to enter the community, I'll be really disappointed if there isn't.
Thanks for your time and answer
Sincerly

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

Using those instructions you may also be able to select PayPal if that is allowed in your country.

  • Quick pays for employees that have a direct deposit payment method?

Can you perform quick pays for employees that have a direct deposit payment method?

    Dear User,
You can perform the activity, only pre-requisite is the the given employee should have a Direct Deposit Payment Method associated with him.
So, when you perform Quickpay and Quickpay-Prepayment, it will take the Direct Deposit Payment Method.
Otherwise, if your payment method is blank for the employee, the Quickpay-Prepayment will take the default Payment Method defined in your Payroll (Generally this is Cheque or Cash)

  • I have a bunch of money on my account from iTunes giftcards, so why do I have to select a payment method (credit etc...) when I already have plenty on there?

So yeah... I have a bunch of money on my account from iTunes giftcards, so why do I have to select a payment method (credit etc...) when I already have plenty on there?
This has only been a problem with the new update. Help me please!

Asking for card details is a way of confirming that you are able to buy from that country's store, it doesn't necessarily mean that the card will be charged for the purchase (unless you are trying to gift content or an amount, that can only be done via a credit card) - have you tried entering the card, you should then get the 'none' option so that you can remove it

  • After restoring ipod due to a forgotten passcode, do you really have to buy apps again?

My 9 year old daughter locked herself out of her Ipod touch by setting a passcode she cant remember.  If I restore the ipod, does she really have to re-purchase the apps?

    No. Just redownload them.  See:

  • HT2731 m trying to make my apple id but its saying again and again that your payment method is declined now what should i do i have putted visa as payment method

m trying to use my apple id but the system is not accepting my payment method as i choose visa now what shoul i do ??

What sort of visa card is it, debit or credit ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

  • I always find a payment method when registering my Apple ID Account

i am trying to create a new Apple ID for the Ipad mini, when creating the ID i always have the payment method, which i dont want to use...

With new apple ids typically you do have to put payment information to begin with, once you do you can remove it and select the option for NONE rather than a Credit Card. Hope that helps.

  • HT2534 there is no option of selecting "NONE" in payment method while creating apple ID. help please

the procedure that has explained at apple support for creating an apple ID without providing credit card information is invalid because when i followed this procedure i did not found the option to select "NONE" in payment method. Can anybody please help? As i don't have a credit card number then what is the other way to create an id to download free apps

What country are you in, and you followed the instructions on that page exactly ? I've just tried it and it worked ok for me for creating a new account e.g. using my computer's iTunes I logged out of my existing account and found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
and then clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
I then agreed to the terms, filled in my details, and got 'none' as an option on the payments screen :
Are they the steps that you used ?

  • Here we go again.  You really have to be kidding, right?

As of today, the complete 4 week new release list for music is gone again for the 3rd time since store 7 launched.
    Let's review:
It was not until after the first week of the launch that the complete new release list was fully operable (first time system down). Then the list was not operating properly a second time from 10/12 - 10/24. Now as of today, the list is absent again for the third time (and who knows how long it will take the techs to fix the bug this time). Only a partial list of the new releases is available currently.
To those many customers out there like me who use the complete new release list to browse/buy their music, the problem is back (if you have not noticed already). I just got done forwarding an email to customer service yesterday reporting that the list had become unalphabetized for the first time when the complete release list rolled over 2 days ago (with the intro of the 10/31 new releases) and now I will have to report again to customer service that the list is incomplete again. Frustration and disappointment over these continuing "off and on" bugs within the 4 week complete new release list since the launch of version 7 has got me really scratching my head wondering why these particular issues continue.

Now 4 hours later, the complete release list is back up and running (but still not alphabetized like it should be). These numerous ups and downs are getting to be like a roller coaster ride.

  • Do you really have to buy snow leopard in store to upgrade to Lion?

I have heard that you DO NOT need to purchase a retail version of Snow Leopard (at the store) to upgrade to Lion.  Do you know if this is true?  I am on OS 10.5 Leopard.  Thanks so much!!!!

You cant upgrade straight from 10.5 to 10.7.
Anyway you have to upgrade to 10.6.8 first.
Alternative you can perform a "from the scratch" install of 10.7 and restore your personal data from a image, external drive, target mode Mac or TimeMachine backup.
For that you need a bootable disk or usb thumb drive with Lion.

  • Do you really have to delete roles if you deactivate a user?

I was searching through threads trying to find a recommendation regarding the best way to deactivate users in SAP.  I understand locking and changing the validity date, but I am also seeing recommendations to delete the roles...  In addition to roles do you also recommend deleting profiles (ones not associated with a specific role)?  I'm just asking because I was under the impression it was good for security purposes to know what roles/profiles (authorizations) the user had in the past if something happened that required research and the ability to identify "who had the ability to do what".  If we delete all of that information from their account, is their still a way to determine what they did have when they were an active user?  If it is OK to leave roles in and maybe just set their expiration date, how should profiles not associated to roles be handled?
I guess most importantly, is there a known recommendation straight from SAP that I can reference?  My searches have come up empty.

In my opinion, best is to:
    - Retire the user ID by locking the account (not just the password).
    - Set the validity on the user account to expire (preferably when this is known already, and not when a piece of paper becomes current...).
    - Setting the validity of roles is subject to the user compare to a large extent. It is very usefull.
    - Manual profiles are a bugger - dirty trick is to import them as a template into a role.
    > I guess most importantly, is there a known recommendation straight from SAP that I can reference? My searches have come up empty.
I know that the technical explanations of how it works is to a large extent available, release dependently.
If you search for the reports associated to the "user compare" (tcode PFUD) then you will find a lot of infos.
Recommendations are more tricky, as it depends on what you want. SAP enables a lot of stuff and is responsible for the correct checks in the programs. But how you build your roles and profiles is up to you, and you have a lot of freedom in that area. You can also shoot yourself in the foot
I am assuming that you are not on SAP release R/2. Perhaps a bit more details would help...
    Cheers,
    Julius
