  • Can I download music from my PC onto my new iPhone and still have my iPhone use iTunes on my Mac without a problem? I have no music on the Mac because it is new. Can I download music onto iPhone on both PC and Mac?

Can I download music from my PC onto my new iPhone and still have my iPhone sync with my Mac without a problem?
I've had an iPod over a year and have not done much with it except download music onto it from my PC. Just recently have purchased the iPhone.  When I got my iPod I didn't have a Mac, but now I do.  I am really into my iPhone, so now I want to make sure that I don't do anything wrong. So can I connect my iPhone to both my PC and my Mac without it getting mixed signals and stop working.  I have no music on my Mac but plan to download music into iTunes on it.  So can I download music from both computers without problems onto my iPhone?

    StoneMountainGirl,
No. You can only music to your iPhone from one computer at a time.  If you try to load music onto it from a 2nd computer, it will erase the current content on the iPhone and replace it with whats in the iTunes library you are connected to,

  • I want to buy a appleTV but still have a iphone 3gs. Will everything work as with a iphone4?

I really want to buy a appletv but still have a iphone 3gs. I want to know if everything will work the same as if using it with a iphone 4 (photos, videos, music etc.)

Speed might not be optimal, but you'd be best using home sharing from a computer and controlling your Apple TV with the Remote app anyway.
The direct answer to your question is yes, it will work.

  • Why you still have to import to iPhoto even with iOS 5

Buyer beware!!!   Apple has been very misleading in portraying iCloud and Photostream and Online Backups and Wireless Sync!!!   Fact is, they don't handle videos!  So that means that you still have to manually plug in your iDevice with the cable to your computer and manually import your videos into iPhoto.  Else the videos will just stay in your device, and use up more and more memory until it fills up.  Regardless if you've set up Photostream or Wireless Sync or whatever, fact is videos still have to be handled manually, like before.
I have five (5) iOS devices in my family (3 iphones + 2 ipads) and we all take lots of video of kids etc.  SO this means that I have to manually go through and plug in all 5 devices on a weekly basis in order to upload the videos.  WHAT A PAIN!!!   The whole reason I bought these idevices and upgraded to iOS 5 is because I thought that iCloud and Photostream and Online backups and wireless sync were going to solve my manual cable problem, but that is not the case.   Again, you have to manually import your videos into iPhoto, then select "DELETE FROM DEVICE" in order to delete them from your device and reclaim the memory (otherwise they stay in Camera Roll indefinitely).  In fact, all the photos I take are remain in the Camera Roll as well, unless you tell iPhoto to delete the imported photos (and thus clear up your memory).
As you will all find out, soon your device will run out of memory because it is full of photos and videos that have not been deleted from the Camera Roll by iPhoto.  Soon, you will run out of space in your iCloud online backups.  And what is Apple's response to this???  You will get a pop-up message to purchase more online storage!!  That is shameful!  instead of fixing the problem, this is their sneaky way of fooling people into thinking they have to buy more online storage.
What a sham!  In my opinion that is borderline fraudulent and false advertising.   Do others have the same gripe?  If so, PLEASE submit your feedback to Apple so they can fix it asap!  Spread the word on twitter and elsewhere, so people don't fall victim and waste their money on purchasing more unnecessary online storage.

We were having a similar discussion yesterday, with the main concern being the fact that you would get charged for data usage and not the cost for a regular text, which may be more expensive for those that have limited data usage. I know the argument would be that anyone owning an iPhone should have an unlimited or at least a 10-12 GB allowance as their data plan, but what about those with lower ones in some countries?
To address your issue, I think the problem is, iMessage requires you to be connected via 3G or WiFi for it to identify the other device is also an iPhone running iOS 5. Now, when you move out of an area that is covered by 3G or Wifi, it sends the message as a standard Text, hence the bill you mention.
    Hope this helps.

  • I need to use my iMac to run some Windows software and was thinking of using Parallels Desktop 9 to help with this. Do you still have to partition your drive with Parallels and does this leave you open to viruses?

I need to use my iMac to run some Windows software not available for Mac and was thinking of obtaining Parrallels Desktop 9 to help with this. If I use Parrallels do you still have to partitian your drive and does this leave you open to viruses?

You do not have to partition your drive - Parallels creates a disk image which contains your Windows installation. You do have to exercise anti-virus measures in the Windows partition, although such malware cannot affect the Mac filesystem.

  • When you delete an app from your homescreen it is still in the cloud, does that mean you still have the app, and how do you get it back on to the home screen

When you delete an app from your homescreen it is still in the cloud, does that mean you still have the app, and how do you get it back on to the home screen. new to ipad so do not know much. Anybody know.p

As long as the app remains in the store then you can re-download it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app, or via the Purchased Link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
Similarly ibooks can be re-downloaded, and depending upon what country that you are in then music, films and tv shows may also be re-downloadable (if they remain available in the store).

There are a few applications out now that may be able to help you out. 1Password and LastPass are both password vault or lockers. They allow you to save passwords for applications and websites. That way you have a single password you use to keep the vault/locker secure and then all of your other passwords are stored for you so you don't have to write them down or try to remember them all.

They haven't shown up in the refurbished section for a bit so they may be sold out. You probably will need to use eBay, Amazon, etc

  • Do you still sell the iphone 3g in white with 16gb?

do you still sell the iphone 3g in white with 16gb in a apple store?

You're not communicating with Apple here. The only people who'll reply are we fellow users.
Anyway, to the best of my knowledge, Apple discontinued the iPhone 3G quite a while back, so it is not available from Apple any longer. Some cell carriers in some countries may offer refurbished models still, though it's not likely. The Apple Store has the 8GB iPhone 3GS, but only in black.
    Regards.

  • Any way to see if a stolen iPod touch was reset and reput in the system if you still have the serial number

If you still have the serial number of your iPod touch n it was stolen is ther any way to see if it was reactivated under someone else name

No Apple doesn't get involved in lost/stolen items.  If you had registerd in Find My...in iCloud it may show up if connected to the internet and not restored to factory settings.  Once restored it will not appear.

  • If you delete the Spotify app, will you still have to pay?

I recently got the premium membership, but I've found another app where you do not have to pay at all. So I was wondering if you still have to pay if you delete the app or if you need to deactivate your account. If you do have to deactivate your account, how can you do that?

How do you agree that you wish to purchases an app and enter your password to allow the purchase by accident?
Within 24 to 48 hours you should receive an emailed receipt of your purchase. There is a report link that you can use to start a conversation about a refund.

  • If you have a shattered screen and the lock button doesnt work, but you only tell the apple store about the lock button, will they give you a whole new phone, or just fix the button. Even if you still have warranty

I recently broke my lock button when it dropped, and wont work again, also i shattered my screen a while back, but it didnt bother me. Now that i want to get the button fixed, will the apple store only fix the button, or the whole phone. I still have 2 weeks of warranty left so it's not like they'd fix one thing and not the other when either way they'll both be free ya know?

They will not give you anything.
They wil either return the device as is or replace it at the out of warranty replacement cost.
