Erm, no. you need admin access to create the trustapp token - that can
either be restricted to a specific IP (usually a good idea!) or not.
The gwcma1.dll installed in the standard installation of the gw client
has a "SetTrustedApplicationCredentials" method on the application
object, and a login method - call the first in vbs, call the second
(again in vbs) and it will launch a full client logged in as the target
user. By using gwcmb1.dll first, you can list the users in a given post
office so you can select one for the procedure (that may require admin
rights if you want to see/select a user not in the normal address book).
This works, in practice - I have such a vbs script written for
troubleshooting problems with the BES gateways, and it works just fine.

Yup. I do note that you can then go into your outlook client (not the
webapp, sadly) and check to see who has rights to your inbox - but that
doesn't really matter - pointing and saying "but they are just as bad"
doesn't work outside of a playground.

You can do it but there is a delay from the bluetooth speaker. You'll need an iphone or ipad using the Apple app "Control", airplay setup, bluetooth speaker, and an Apple laptop or desktop.
I used my laptop to connect to my bluetooth speaker so that sound streams to my bluetooth device. Then, on my iphone I opened Control and connect the music to my airplay and my laptop at the same time. The music goes to your airplay speaker, and then to my laptop which then blue tooths it to my speaker. But, as I said the bluetooth takes an extra step to stream it and so the music is not in sync. Its like a second and a half delay....

Can you use any email account with iChat?

It appears that iChat allows you to add other other email accounts other than AOL or MobileMe but can you chat using these accounts and can you screen share etc with non MobileMe users?

The answer is yes but your question is wrong.
The AIM page for Registration now allows you to use any Email ID as a Screen Name.
AIM has long done this for the Apple IDs of [email protected] and the MobileMe type email IDs of [email protected]
They have also done it for other ISPs in the past as well
More recently I have had someone test with me having used a Hotmail ID in the AIM Registration process.
Jabber IDs look like email IDs and in the case of the GoogleTalk option they can be.
As long as the Screen Name works in one of your Buddy lists it will be valid And if they are an iChat user with iChat 4 or above then they will be able to Screen Share.
NOTES:
Screen Sharing in iChat uses a Random port so any router or modem that routes need to be able to use UPnP or Port Mapping Protocol to open the ports or it will not work.

Best Business Solution/Integration ....? What do you use? Email setup/sync

Does anyone use iPhone for their business? Looking to sync calendars and contacts for our business and wondering the best way to do so. Anyone tried BusySync?
Also, what do you guys use as an email program? Do you use an internet service such as yahoo or gmail? Or solely use your Mail/Entourage Program? I love GMail, but can't find a way out of the "sent by" in the header.
Trying to figure out the best setup! I do have the MobilMe if that helps at all.

I use Yahoo Personal Address service, which gives me a personal domain for my email. I also have to pay to register the domain name. All-together it's $35 bucks a year. That's a small price to pay to avoid all the "from" issues.
They sent me an email saying they were switching the personal address service over to Yahoo Business mail, and I could keep it for the same price. Not sure what kind of deal that is, but if the new version is similar in cost to what I have, I highly recommend it as a very low-cost solution to looking professional.
Haven't had any real issues with Yahoo mail. Since it's POP I use Entourage and avoid the web app most of the time. I do have to check the spam folder online. Yahoo's spam filter is erratic and I've found real mail in the folder on occasion.

Why do I have to use Facebook, tweeter or this goofy community service instead of email? Why do you use my email address to contact me but refuse to accept email In return? Just like you, I also prefer the ease and convenience of email. Would you prefer I setup my own social network and require you to post your bills to it??! Email is ubiquitous and--unlike your service--it works perfectly overseas.

Is there ANY way to use another email address with iCloud?

Apple let you use any email address as an Apple ID, but I really want to be able to use a non-Apple email address with my iCloud mail. Just about every email service (Gmail, Hotmail, etc) allows you to send from a third-party address (once you've done a security verification) so that you don't have to change your email address when switching services. iCloud seems to have no such option. Is there any way round this, or any way to put pressure on Apple to add this basic feature???

How to use FaceTime using an email address

How can you use multiple email addresses for FaceTime purposes?

Each device would have a separate email address. The email address would be registered as THE facetime email address for that device. Each device must be on Wifi in order to initiate a Facetime session. It does now work via cellular (3G/4G).

Does Using Secure Empty Trash Put Stress on My Hard Drive?

Whenever I empty my trash I use Secure Empty Trash even if it's not for sensitive files. Are there any benefits to using this feature - does it free up better hard drive space for new files to be saved to than just Empty Trash? And does it put a lot of stress on my hard drive as it works harder emptying trash this way? I'm using an early 2008 15" MacBook Pro with Leopard 10.5.8 but will soon be upgrading to Snow Leopard.

If you are secure deleting very large blocks of files, as you've already seen, sure it does put more stress on the system - takes much longer, has the HD doing a lot of writes to disk, produces more heat, ramps up the fans, etc.
To what extent that ultimately makes in the lifespan of the drive is hard to say - depend how often you use secure delete, and on how much data at a time. Secure deleting a handful of personal files at a time seems pretty trivial to me, but routinely secure deleting thousands of files taking up Gb's of disk space may cause a drive to fail earlier than it otherwise might.
Basically, I only use it when I am deleting personal data files that I specifically want to be unrecoverable (eg. I have a copy of my will on my MBP, whenever I have made changes in my will, I have secure deleted the old version as I do not want it to be recoverable, same thing for old tax records outside the statute of limitations for the IRS to poke back into).

Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

You cannot do that. The AppleID you used to create the iCloud account is an active primary email address. The email address you created with the iCloud account is also an active primary email address (all Apple domain email address automatically become AppleIDs as well). You cannot replace the primary email address on one active AppleID with the primary email address on another, active AppleID.
You can use your iCloud email/AppleID with iTunes, but it will be a separate account, so all your previous purchases remain tied to the other AppleID you have.
I don't understand your statement that you could not remeber your old AppleID password, as you would have had to use it to create the iCloud account in the first place (the first step of creating the iCloud account required you to login with your existing AppleID and password)?

If you mean that you've forgotten the answers to your security questions, then if youhave a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
