Doc and pdf won't open in Ipad 2 Mail

An arrow appears and when we tap on it, the little disk starts loading and then nothing.
Any clue ?

I noticed the same issue--I use gmail for email. Anything that had been archived into an email folder had this problem on my iPad. Forwarding the message to myself appeared to fix the issue for me. Once forwarded; I was able to open pdf's quite easily. I tested by refiling into an archived email folder; found the email (and pdf) in that folder--and was able to view the pdf just like before.

Adobe Reader won't download and PDFs won't open

All of a sudden I cannot open PDFs, so I have tried to download Adobe Reader XI and it gets to 78% then fails. It will not give me a reason for the failed installation, and when I try to open PDFs I get a message that says "Acrobat failed to load its core DLL." Now I cannot open PDFs, and I feel like I have tried everything to correct the problem - I tried on chrome, IE, and Firefox, I enabled JavaScript, I don't have virus scanners blocking it, and I am at a loss of what to do. Help!

.pdf files won't open on iPad 3

I have an iPad 3 and .pdf files were opening off of websites fine. I have since downloaded an app called "on cloud". Now, when I try to open the same .pdf files from the same sites I get a message that says Adobe cannot open file because it is not a .pdf file. I have since deleted the app and followed all instructions on the Adobe site to no avail. What else can I do or try? Please help!

Installed iWork '09 on MacBook running OSX 10.7.2 and Pages won't open .doc files. Why?

I just recently installed iWork '09 on MacBook running OSX 10.7.2 and Pages won't open .doc files.
I did a search looking for a solution in the forums and here are the actions I've taken:
1) Made sure the files were't read/write protected.
2) Restarted the computer.
3) Made sure all the program files were in the correct folder.
4) Reinstalled the program.
Pages won't read .doc files that were originally Pages files and exported as .docs
It also won't read .doc files that were created using a relatively recent version of Office.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Please help.

If it's a doc created with the late Office 2011, it's not really surprising.
The importer embedded in iWork application was delivered in january 2009 and didn't evolve.
For this reason, it's unaware of new features delivered with Office 2011.
Better try with LibreOffice.

HT4623 I downloaded a book a few days ago on my new ipad and it was working fine. today I go into it and it won't open up

i downloaded an audibook a few days ago and it worked fine. Now i go back into it and it won't open up.

Try closing the Music app and reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Uploading .doc and .pdf files from iPad

Is there any such free app in App Store to upload .doc and .pdf files from my iPad mini to Internet?
I usually upload my Resume on different job portals, but it is not possible from Safari or Chrome browsers on my iPad mini, I have to do it from my PC every time just to upload a single file. Looking for a solution to this reported issue.

There is no native ability to upload files other than photos and videos using the built in Safari browser.
Look into iCab Mobile for file uploads to websites. Its not free though, and I'm not aware of a free alternative at this point.

Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a .chm file work intermittently.

SUMMARY
Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a
.chm file (and the Baggage Files) only work intermittently. The
only solution appears to be deleting the Temporary Internet Files.
PROBLEM
1. I place the XLS, DOC, or PDF file in the Windows
sub-directory that corresponds to the RoboHelp project sub-folder
where the topic in which I’ll place the hyperlink exists.
2. I open the help project in RoboHelp HTML.
3. I right-click on the project’s Baggage Files
sub-folder that corresponds to the Windows sub-directory in which I
placed the XLS, DOC, or PDF file (in step 1).
4. I import the XLS, DOC, or PDF file.
5. I open the topic in which I’m going to place the
hyperlink in the WYSIWYG editor.
6. I “drag and drop” the Baggage File into the
topic (in the WYSIWYG editor) to create a link to it.
7. I save the changes and then generate HTML (.chm) help.
8. I open the .chm file and click the hyperlink. The XLS,
DOC, or PDF file may or may not open.
9. When the hyperlink works correctly, for DOC and XLS files,
a “File Download – Security Warning” dialog box
appears asking, “Do you want to open or save this
file?”. The buttons that are available are
“Open”, “Save”, and “Cancel”.
These buttons work then as one would expect. (When the hyperlink
works correctly for a PDF file, it simply opens the PDF file in a
new window; there’s no prompt to save, open, or cancel.)
10. When a hyperlink does NOT work, for DOC, XLS, and PDF
files, no dialog box or other visual message is displayed. Instead,
the sound that is associated with the “Exclamation”
program event is played (the “Windows XP
Exclamation.wav” file is the WinXP default).
Other Notes:
- The hyperlinks ALWAYS work when I view a topic using the
“View Selected Item” function (Ctrl+W) in the RoboHelp
HTML project.
- Once a hyperlink stops working, it will not start working
again until I delete all the Temporary Internet Files.
- A hyperlink will stop working even if Internet Explorer
(iexplore.exe) is closed the entire time.
WORKAROUND
Through trial and error, I have discovered that if a
hyperlink stops working, I can get it to work again using the
following steps:
1. Leave the .chm file open.
2. Open Internet Explorer.
3. Click Tools>Internet Options….
4. From the “Internet Options” dialog box, select
the “General” tab.
5. Under the “Temporary Internet Files” section,
click the “Delete Files…” button.
6. From the “Delete Files” dialog box, select
“Delete all offline content” and then click
“OK”. The files are deleted and the “Delete
Files” dialog box closes.
7. Click “OK” to close the “Internet
Options” dialog box.
8. Without closing Internet Explorer and without re-starting
the .chm file, all the hyperlinks that didn’t work before
will now work.

- “Check for newer versions of stored pages” is
set to “Automatically”
- “Current location” for the Temporary Internet
files folder is set to “C:\Documents and Settings\My
Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\”
- “Amount of disk space to use” is set to
“594” MB
“View Files…”
- An XLS or DOC file will be listed here if I click its
hyperlink and then click either “Open” or
“Save” from the “File Download – Security
Warning” dialog box.
- A file will appear here even if I click “Save”
and then click “Cancel” from the subsequent “Save
As” dialog box.
- If I click “Cancel” from the “File
Download – Security Warning” dialog box, the file does
not appear in the Temporary Internet Files folder.
- When a file does appear in the Temporary Internet Files
folder, its Internet Address is displayed similar to the following:
“ms-its:C:\PrimaryProjectFolder\ProjectName.chm::/SubFolderName/FileName.xls”

REQUEST FOR HELP
I really want to include certain PDF, DOC, and XLS files in
their native format in a .chm file. However, I need a better
solution to my problem than the one I discovered. What I really
want is to avoid the entire problem altogether.
Have anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

You wont be able to do that. The embedded objects would appear as images only.

I have Adobe Acrobat X pro 10.1.1 and it won't open when I want to open a PDF or just the program: And I tried to update the program but got error 130200. I had to instal reader for just looking at PDFs. Thats not so fun when I paid for pro and it stop working for no reason... Can you guys help me?

One workflow to join docs and pdfs to one big pdf

Hi! I've been trying to do something that, until now, just hasn't worked.
I have a bunch of word docs in a folder and I want to convert them to pdf and join them together. I have no problem with that. But, can I use the same workflow to join pdfs together that were not word docs to begin with? An action to "ignore the conversion" if the file is already a pdf.
Furthermore, can I grab a bunch of docs and pdfs and join them in one giant pdf so that the docs will be converted and then the multiple pdfs joined with just one workflow?
If so, how?

I am having the same issue, I have tried repairing the installation and it did not work, I have uninstalled and then reinstalled and still no right click options. I have 3 computers with this issue and each of them when you right click will not show any of the acrobat options, but they do have a blank line (no text) that when clicked will open the combine window. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Pages won't open on ipad 1

I am trying to access an excel file in my dropbox, but pages won't open on IPad 1. Any ideas? I shut it down, then turned back on. No difference.

Double tap Home button and delete Pages from multitask-bar.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
Try again with Pages.
If no joy, delete Pages and redownload again.

PDF won't open in iBooks

PDF won't open in iBooks open appears open for a second then disappears.

I just updated to the latest update 4.3.2 and it works fine! Apparently something in the 4.3.1 update caused it to not work.

SOME pdfs won't open...

Dear all,
My problem is kind of odd as you can see in the title...
So some pdfs won't open neither in web browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Safari) nor in Preview. The odd part is that some do open normally both in browsers and Preview.
I deleted the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin but it doesn't solve the problem.
Anyone has an idea about what can be wrong?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Numbers spreadsheet won't open on iPad

I created a spreadsheet in Numbers yersterday and it won't open on the iPad.

I have a similar problem.
I tried to open a Numbers file and got this message:
"You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet."
But I have the latest version 3.0.1 installed. OS 10.9.1iMac

I just got the latest update and I'm wondering if that is what is causing it??
I got a new movie on itunes on my desktop, and I was trying to get on itunes from my ipad to be able to load it on there.
Then noticed itunes as well as the other game apps that I mentioned wouldn't load.
Other apps seem to be working just fine and I've been able to download new apps from the app store.
