Doc file different with report 6i layout

Hi I was using destype=file mode=character to generate a .doc file from report6i. I modified format in layout model. It looks beautiful. However in .doc file, layout got a little different. Is there any way that I can make the output format exactly same as that one under layout model? Please advise. Thank you!

If you use mode=character you will be able to generate only Text files. It will not contain font information images, etc. You can run your report in bitmap mode and desformat=rtf

Printing DOC files generated with RH HTML

I've generated 7 DOC files from my project (took 3hrs). They
all opened OK when generation was complete and I did a SAVE AS to
my jump-drive.
Now when I come to open them on 3 different PC's (incl the
one I generated the files on , Word just stops, and I have to creah
out of it. I've tried this with the smallest doc (4pgs) and the
same thing happens.
Well I'm now confused as there was no prob during the
generation.
By the way - if I generate then with PDF output option all is
OK

I have looked in Preferences and cannot find anything that seems to address these added-in headers and footers.
Aha! There is no Create from Web menu in Acrobat. But there is a Create menu, with the item Create PDF from Web Page, which opens a small deceptively simple dialog. It has a URL field and a few buttons, one of which is Settings. Settings opens a two-tab dialog. On the General page, there is a "PDF settings called Place headers and footers on new page." It was selected. I deselected it, and that did the trick.
I would have thought to find a setting like this instead on the Page Layout page. And, either way, this is a deeply buried setting. It ought to have been in Preferences.

How to generate a local file pdf with reports 11g

I want to generate a local pdf file to print it with client_host

I think using report builder can't support pdf output,...All of our reports are PDF output so Reports 11g definately supports this format.
I'm a little confused by your request, however. If your user has your PDF report displayed in a browser window - can't they just click the "Save" button in Acrobat Reader to save the report to their computer?
Is your user wanting to bypass this step and have the report generated and saved automatically to their computer? If this is what you want to do, then Francois's suggestion is the way to proceed. You will be using the WebUtil library to transfer the file to the client computer. This means, you will need to complete the configuration of the WebUtil library on your application server before you can use any of the WebUtil methods.

How to open .doc files created with microsoft word 97... when using mac os x 10.7.4?

hi! i'm using mac os x 10.7.4 and have Office 2011. i can no longer open older documents (.doc) created with Microsoft Word 97... What can i do to get access to these files?

I had too many of these that I had to convert to a modern format. It isn't easy or consistent but one of these normally works:
1. Open up Word and use the File/Open command rather than just double clicking on the file. Why does this sometimes work? I don't know! Save in docx format.
2. Try opening the files in Office 2010 on a Windows machine. Again, immediately save as a docx file. This works more often than the advice above.
3. Download the free LibreOffice and try opening it there. There will be some format problems but easily fixed. Once again, save in docx format.
4. Breakdown and look for a dedicated format converter.

Image barcode file creating with report using barcode javabean

I have report in report 9i using barcode javabean.
at runtime my report make image file with barcodevalue name on desktop.
i have to change this folder .I dont want to have this image file on desktop.
i set REPORTS_TMP on registery but i have this file on desktop again.
what set i must do to change this folder?

as you see it's about webpaper cause in paper example
i didn't see these text in web source.

Insert doc file into report

Hello all,
I want to insert a .doc file into a report, I generate finally a .pdf document.
I´ve tried two things:
1.- Insert an OLE2 object (word document), but it doesn´t work, it is reported in the document 74902.1. Reports reservates the space but doesn´t insert the document.
2.- Use a field "Link File", with a .doc documetn doesn´t work, the only option is to scan the text and insert as an image, but this is not a good option as I have to scan the file every time it changes and a .gif file is bigger than a .doc file.

Pl take a look at Note 166649.1 - it says -
LIST OF PROBLEMS/LIMITATIONS
1. Problem:
Client/Server mode using OLE2 to read in a MS Word document will work as long
as the output is sent to the previewer but will not work if DESTYPE is set to
file. That is, an OLE object embedded in the report will display as an empty
box or nothing at all when the report is generated to a PDF, HTML, or RTF file.
Solution:
This is because RTF, HTML and PDF formats do not support OLE.
The summary is that you cannot embed an OLE object into PDF, and I guess there is no workaround as well to embed the Word document "dynamically" into Oracle Reports PDF output.

Convert .doc file with embedded file(s)

Dear all,
I have around 1 million documents that need to convert from .doc / .xls to PDF, and I've found that some .doc files embedded with other files into it, like a .doc inside another .doc, or .xls inside another .doc, for those files, after converted them using LC PDFG, the embedded files will become an icon image, is there any methods to convert those documents so that the embedded files are also "attached" inside the result PDF? The feature you are looking for, is currently not available in Acrobat.
But you can create an interactive link (to open Word/Excel) using Acrobat. Please look at the following link:

Can't open .doc files in either Word or Pages!! Any suggestions?

So I stated having issues with Word not being able to open my .doc files along with a few other things. This prompted me to purchase pages only a few hours ago hoping that it would solve all my problems. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem and now I still can't open them even in pages. Any suggestions?
I have OS X 10.6.8. Any help would be greatly apreciated as I am a new Grad student and need to be able to access .doc files that are posted online.

Ok I forgot to try to hit Open With for Word and that worked for one document but I still want to know how to get it open in pages.
Well you can do the same thing for Pages. From the Get Info window, choose Pages for Open With.
But you should also be able to:
drag a Word document and drop it on the Pages icon or
Launch Pages, choose File > Open, find the Word document using the Open box and click Open.
If neither works please explain what steps you're following and what happens.

can any body tell me how to open a .doc file in TextPane/EditPane??? opening .rtf is working fine, but what about .doc??? any suggession, any trick! come on guys.

no, i didn't mean that it can give u all the functionalities of .rtf files or can show all the .rtf file as they r in MS-word. but atlest, if there is only formatted styled text in the .rtf file, it shows correctly. but .doc file opens with ascii charectors, unreadable.
so u opted for HTMLDocument, but how r u managing to open .rtf or any other text file in that editor???

Print layout different with crystal report 2008 runtime

Hi,
I have reports which I print on a pre printed stationary. With Crystal report 11.5 run time it works fine.
Now I am using Crystal Report 2008 run time and with this I found that layout on the print is different than the actual layout in the design.
The print with CR 2008 run time is not exactly matching with the pre printed stationary. Whereas it is working fine with the 11.5 run time.
Can anyone please help?

AOL mail doesn't send .doc-files with Firefox

When using Firefox AOL Mail doesn't send .doc-files. Instead a corrupted file with a different size is sent. Any other file type works aswell as sending .doc-files with other browsers works...

I'm getting a similar problem. Snow Leopard Mail for me seems to be choking on large attachments - sending them, forwarding them, or even moving them from one IMAP folder to another.
My mails are getting through, but it takes a long time and they are dragging the whole system to a crawl in the process.

Visual Source Safe keeps checking out my .cs file associated with a report

Hello there.
I am new in this community and I need some help. I am part of a team that works with Crystal Reports under .NET framework and we are using Ms Visual Source Safe. Any time we open a solution (.sln file) all .cs files associated with a Crystal report are checked out. This, of course, drives all of us crazy. If I try to delete the .cs file, it is added automatically. And we could not find any solution to this problem.
I compared the 2 .cs files (before and after check out) and the indeed differ. The namespace , to be more specific is different.
I believe the problem is that we are using a separate project that contains the report files and then those .rpt files are added as links to the main project.
So ... my question is... is there anyway I can tell Sourcesafe or Crystal report or any other program, application or person to stop checking out my .cs files or stop modifying them?

It seems I have SP1 already installed. I am referencing the following files with versions in my report project:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine v12.0.2000.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework v12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore v12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.ReportSource v12.0.2000.0
I personally believe that the problem is with the link files.
To be more exact, I have several projects (csproj) that handle all reports and report loading. I also have several applications that refer these projects (not all in the same time). Because all .rpt files are loaded at runtime, I made these files Embedded resources and I created a folder in the main projects named Reports where I added all .rpt files as links.
When I open main application A solution, all .cs files associated with the .rpt files are checked out (the namespace is modified to A).
When I open main application B solution, all .cs files associated with the .rpt files are checked out (the namespace is modified to B).
And so on.
And since we are a team of several developers working with all main applications, this is rather annoying.
I hope this presents my situation a little more clear.

.doc file: I don't think there is any reporting tool that creates .doc. You can create .rtf files with Oracle Reports and many other tools.

Can't open .doc files in Pages with Snow Leopard

I just installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Pages can no longer open .doc files. I receive the error message: "The document “XXX.doc” couldn’t be opened."

But now I don't have the option "save as" word document as I used to before I installed the update for snow leopard. It only lets me save as iwork '06 or '05.
That's Pages 3/iWork '08. You may have both iWork '08 & '09 on your Mac & '08 has opened. You can have more than one version, I have three, but you'll need to find a way to identify each one. I have changed the icons for two of the versions & have aliases to each in a folder where I added the version number. This way I can know which one I'm opening & they look different in my Dock. Do not add a version number to the actual application, the updaters then won't find them. (Can you tell I like changing icons? )

Saving HTML with DIV to DOC file and display correctly

I'm generating a DOC file of HTML. I happen to use DIV and
CSS to make it look the way I want it to, but MS WORD is ignoring
the formating.

You might want to provide some more details if you expect a
useful response. I've generated Word files using ColdFusion and
haven't had any problems with the styles. You might want to try
creating a document in Word, saving it as HTML, and then seeing
what the styles look like. Keep in mind that you have different
units of measurement for print (points and inches instead of
pixels) that could affect a document.
