Dock at the top of screen?

I know I might be asking a question asked and answered elsewhere or which might be regarded as silly, but why doesnt the Dock have an option to have it at _+*the top*+_ of the screen as well as Left, Bottom & Right?
I sometimes use a 12inch monitor and I cant see the Dock in any of the positions available to me.

because the menu bar is at the top.

what do you mean? is your dock set to autohide? uncheck that option in doc

Back in the days of 10.4, "defaults write com.apple.Dock orientation top" (in Terminal) or Onyx for that matter, were able to place the Dock on the top. Is there a way to accomplish this in Snow Leopard? Because of my workstyle, the Dock gets in the way quite frequently. Besides, I use 3rd party app launchers.

Don't know of a way to get the Dock on the top.
But, to keep it out of the way but available, in the Dock prefs pane in System Preferences you can set it to "automatically hide and show". Choosing that setting means the Dock will normally be hidden; to gain access to it, all you need do is brush the bottom of the screen (or the side you have Doc set to) with the cursor, and it will appear, staying visible only until you move the cursor away.
You can also use the keyboard combo Command-Option-D to invoke/revoke Dock Hiding, which in effect means you can use that keyboard command to toggle the Dock's visibility.

How do I only show typed URLs in the Top Sites screen?

It's really obnoxious to see hundreds of ephemeral URLs that you'll never visit again on the Top Sites screen. Is there a way to make this user friendly so I can only see the URLs I typed. I am happy to set something in about:config.

No, this is for Android version. I would love to disable the stupid "Awesome" screen. The link you posted explained how to turn the tab garbage off on the desktop version, but Mobile (i.e. Android) version ignores the parameter value.
Likewise, the above "browser.urlbar.default.behavior" parameter set to '32' produces the reasonable behavior I want on the desktop, but the Mobile (Android) version just ignores this configuration parameter.

Dashboard Links At the top of Screen visibility

Hi,
When I enter as a Presentation Catalog Administrator to Answers, I can not see the some dashboard links at the top of screen. But I have access right to enter them.
Is there any configuration about the visibility of the links of dashboards at the top of the screen.

As Administrator Go to Setting - Administrator - Manage Interactive Dashboards.
Choose a dashboard that you are not able to see and click on the permissions button. Check if the Presentation Server Administrators has Full Controll access to the dashboard. If not, try adding it.

I have one it works fine. yeah, the Mac instructions aren't great. Try this.
(1) make sure you have your VCR audio and video outputs connected to the side with the two selection switches.
(2) be sure you know the difference between the audio and video outputs no matter which colors you use.
(3) make sure the indicator light is green on cable that connects to your computers firewire port.
(4) when you operate the vcr through Imovie. you will only be able to play your vhs tape. so to fast forward or reverse. you must use your vcr remote or your hand.
(5) to import your footage just click on import in imovie.
That should solve your problem. Also, in the future put these questions in the imovie forum.

1) Make sure that your project is in the same aspect ratio as your camera. If your camera shoots 16:9. make a 16:9 project.
2) Check the clip inspector for the clip in your project to see if Image Stabilization is turned on. Stabilization works by zooming in, so you may want to turn it off.

Clicking sound when I press the top of screen near the front camera.

I bought an iphone 6 plus 3 weeks ago and after I used 7days, I found when I press the top of screen, I can hear something like clicking. Then I contact Apple and sent it back. After 1 week, they returned it back and said there was no problem. After I received it, I didn't even activate it, just pressed, the sound was back. Not only this, they made a deep scratch on the left top of back. I was so angry and I contacted them again and took a video. They told me to send it to apple support again. And today, they emailed me, said this is a normal behavior for iphone 6 and 6 plus, I will receive it tomorrow. It really xxxxed me. What can I do now? No way to express replacement, no way to repair. Please help me out, guys!!!!!

It is hard to tell from your description if you have a real defect. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple store and discuss/show it to them.

I cannot get the info bar (not the dock) on the top of my screen to permanently appear without my having to put the cursor on top of screen. Then it appears. Don't even know what that is called...above the open window.

How do I get the area above the open window to display information (as in closing that specific window, "Safari File Edit View History, etc.) without having to attempt to put the cursor on it to give me that info? When you do Safari to it's maximum size on the screen (with the two little arrows in the Safari top menu bar on the right), Safari will take the whole screen including the top Apple menubar. In that menubar is the same set of little arrows to bring Safari back to it's previous size (which you can set by moving it's borders), you bring the Apple menubar in sight by moving the mousepointer to the top of the screen, when you do not want to loose that apple menubar, you can set Safari as bog as you can by moving its borders but just until below the apple menubar. Don't touch the little arrows in Safari menubar.

I have an iBook G4. The images on the screen "fall off" the top and/or bottom. That is, I can't see the dock and top user bar at the same time.
The computer seems to automatically move the screen around as I use the cursor. I don't know how to fix the image so it just fits the boundaries of the screen. OS10.4.11. Thanks for any help you can give.

It sounds like maybe you've unintentionally activated the Zoom feature.
Try going to System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing, and make sure that Zoom is turned off.

I have 6 bluetooth devices paired with my iphone. The speakers (same brand for home and office) are in position 1 and 2. (office is number 2)
When I come into my office in the morning, the power to the speakers is already on. I have to go to settings/bluetooth and select the speakers in my office in order to connect. It does not connect automatically. When I leave my office to go elsewhere in the building that's out of range, if I take my iPhone, I have to reconnect when I get back to my office. I suppose I could turn the speakers off, then back on again, but that's just one more step I shouldn't have to take. Interesting enough, when I enter my family room with my speakers at home (position 1) the speakers connect automatically.
What I'm looking for is an app that lets me select specific bluetooth devices and places an icon on my screen. Then all I'd need to do is press that icon and automatically be connected to the bluetooth device I want.
BTW, I have a bluetooth hands free device in my car. (position 3 on the list) When I get in, I always have to do the same thing to connect to it.
