Dock EXTRA transparent and missing stack icons

I have no idea what happened, but I came back to my iMac, and it looked like this...
Its not distracting (yet!), but it must be some kind of bug.
(Hopefully will get fixed in 10.5.1)

I was in the middle of opening a newly downloaded file from the "Downloads" stack and the same thing happened, my dock just disappeared. After restarting it popped up and then disappeared once again within seconds. As a test I removed all the contents from my download folder and the dock immediately popped back up again and is now stable. I think what happened is there was some conflict with the thumbnail preview and the dock and the result was the dock not displaying....hope this helps someone

  • IOS Application Loader Error itms-9000 and Missing recommended icon file

    Hi friends.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. and I have Mac os x Mountain Lion on VMware Application.
I'm using Air SDK 14.0.0.103 or Air SDK 13.0.0.111 or Air SDK 4.0.0.1390 on Flash CC & Flash CS6
I have tried this air sdk and flash program. When I compiler on windows with this sdk and flash program. iPa file created on windows.
After, when I upload my app to apple with application laoder, but on mountain lion in VMware..
    Verifying assets to itunes... etc..
    This errors.
I have tried so much. But I cant solve this problem. Because I cant find other icon files? on this screenshots.

Yes I have uploaded [email protected] file.
I have sent application loader to Apple.
But I have taken a email.
Improper Advertising Identifier [IDFA] Usage. Your app contains the Advertising Identifier [IDFA] API but you have not indicated its usage on the Prepare for Upload page in iTunes Connect.
Though you are not required to fix the following issues, we wanted to make you aware of them:
Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPhone / iPod Touch of exactly '120x120' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 7.0.
Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '152x152' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 7.0.
Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '76x76' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 7.0
How can I solve my other problems?

  • Version Mismatch and Missing recommended icon file

I got these to error message when i upload my app. Can someone help me figure this out please
    Thx
Version Mismatch - Neither CFBundleVersion ['30.3.0.5.96880'] nor CFBundleShortVersionString ['1.0.4'] in the Info.plist match the version of the app set in iTunes Connect ['1.0'].
Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '152x152' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 7.0.

The first one is a specific as it can possibly be. If you don’t want to add the icon then don’t but it could cause things to look a bit poor on retina devices.
The second one can safely be ignored.

  • Airport network connected on full bars but "no internet connection" and missing lock icon!

    this is really frustrating!
I'm using wireless in my house. when i click on my network it connects and it shows perfect connection which is full bars.
on Network Preferences it says that i'm connected to the Airport but when i go to Safari it shows "You are not connected to the Internet" so i click on Network Diagnostic where the 3 network status on top has the green indicator but the ISP, Internet and Server show red and failed.
I don't think there's anything wrong with my internet connection since I'm able to go online using my sister's computer and also on my iPhone.
There's also usually a Lock icon/symbol next to my network's name but when i'm connected to my network the Lock icon seems to be missing but it still shows full bars connection. I really don't get how it's possible to be connected to a network, but no internet connection, while i can access the internet on other devices.
Please help me out here. I've tried ways like going to library>preferences then put the system configuration into Trash, and going to Network Preferences and removing the Airport service and creating a new one.
and one more thing. all mentioned above are when i clicked on Advanced on network preferences then i clicked on TCP/IP and changed the Configure IPv4 from Using DHCP to Manually. When i'm back to using DHCP there's an exclamation point over the airport icon on the top bar and it says no internet connection.

Got my own question answered by a colleague.
He had me create another "Location" in the network pane of System Preferences, then choose it and click Apply. I created a new location which I called 'Airport', chose it and clicked Apply and sure enough, an IP address showed up and all is well.
Justin said it's a network bug in Leopard.

  • Sisabled sound and missing sound icon..............!!!!

so noticed a few months back that my sound icon was missing which i didn't care. Today i decided to see if i could solve the issue so i found this advice that i found here.
    Locate this file: com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
It's here: /Users/Library/Caches Drag that file from the Cache folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Launch System Preferences and see if the Sound icon has returned.
Well, i'm still with out my sound icon and now seems like my sound is disable. when i press the sound buttons in the keyboard it show the speaker with all the bars(full sound) and underneath is O with a / crossing it. help anyone?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this file to the Desktop.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    Reboot.

  • Transparency and Missing Images.....

I've searched through the forums here and everywhere else and cannot come up with a solution to this:
I've built a site using Dreamweaver and have added .swf's for some navigation and my personal portfolio.  Using Firefox, some of my images are not showing up at all and in Safari there is no transparency!  I've used the swfObject.js file thinking that would take care of the issues but it hasn't.
    Here is a link:  http://www.scottvezina.com/PortfolioPage.html
Any help at all would be appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,

    I now have a hint:
As a colleague said, he encountered some problems with usagerights on our fileserver (XServe). He said he wasn't able to read files he put on the server himself again…
If this is true, the same could have happened to Keynote for placed images, as Keynote writes these images as separate files in the doc package…
I will try to work on my local volume and see if it solfes the problem.
But sooner or later I will have to place the whole thing on the server again…
Do you think this is the reason?

  • Make dock more transparent/translucent?

    hello
is it possible to make the dock less opaque. it's very grey and (because i wanted a mac for so long) i had something called object dock for PC, which basically is there same thing. on this object dock, however, it was possible to make the grey background of the dock more transparent, and i've looked everywhere on my mac (which is new so still don't really know what i'm doing!) and haven't managed to find a way to change it
if anyone can answer my question that'd be great
    thanks
    tom

You can use a third party application called ClearDock which I have used for years with no problems at all.

  • "Downloads" and "Documents" Stacks in the Dock  10.6 Snow Leopard

Is there a way to get the little blue folder icons that say "Downloads" and "Documents" to appear on the stacks in the dock instead of a thumbnail type icon of the first document or download in the stack? 10.6 Snow Leopard.  The Apple Web page describing "Stacks" as a new part of Snow Leopard shows them.

Yes, right click (control click) on the icon and select Display as Folder.

  • How can i customize maverick dock in the bottom to be transparent and 2D

macbookpro, late 2011 with os x mavericks:
i tried to get the dock in the bottom transparent and in 2D, which in ML worked fine with the small program MIRAGE. this program does not appear to work in mavericks and can also not be updated from version 1.0.1. dock left or right side are no options for me. i also tried the terminal command somebody posted, makes no difference. has anyone a solution?

It appears that this feature was removed, the Dock you are refering to was called the 'no-glass' Dock. It was used for the left & right Dock attachments styles, but the 'defaults write' would set it to work on the bottom too.
I'd suggest you notify Apple in the hopes they add it (or similar) back to the possible options, I prefer it too & will miss it.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
(The command was: defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES)

  • Stack icon.  How do I get it onto the dock?

I do not have a stack icon on my dock. I have tried dragging the "download" folder from "finder" onto the dock and right-clicking but all that does is produce all the downloads as a grid. I want my applications etc to appear as a "stack" and I cannot see how to do that. All help gratefully received.

Hi David and Welcome to Apple Community.
First, when you drag a folder to the Dock, be sure it is the original and not an alias.
Be sure to drag it to the right side of the divider line on the side with Trash.
If you are doing it correctly, a right click should produce a contextual menu with "Fan, Grid, List and Automatic". From what you say I think you want List view, so choose that.
    Let us know.

  • How to change stacks icon in dock?

I love the stacks feature in Leopard. However, it seems to choose the first application in the stack alphabetically as the one to show in the dock. This is logical (if you stacked all the apps by alphabet, the top one would be the first in alpha order), but I as a user remember a group of apps by a particular signature app. For me, the Graphics stack is more immediately recognizable if the icon is of GraphicConverter than if it is of DigitalColor Meter; don't ask me why.
Is there a way to change the default behavior of stacks icon display in the dock, letting me select the Graphic Converter icon for my Graphics stack? (This would be similar to the "Make Key Photo" command in iPhoto.) I understand that if I ever were to remove my chosen application from the stack, the displayed icon would revert to the default alpha selection.

Actually, I may have spoken too soon. I did as directed, setting it to Display as Folder. Then I went to the actual folder, invoked the Get Info command, and pasted the Graphic Converter icon into the icon preview. This worked just great in the Finder window, but the dock icon remains a folder icon.

  • I have Mac OS10.4.11 with MS Office 2004 installed. Yesterday, when clicking on the Entourage icon, in the dock, to receive my Email, the icon disappeared and I lost my Email service from the HD and from Spotlight, as well. Word, Excel and PP are still OK

I have Mac OS10.4.11 with MS Office 2004 for Mac, installed. Yesterday, when clicking on the Entourage icon, in the dock, to receive my Email, the icon disappeared and I lost my Email service from the HD and from Spotlight, as well. Word, Excel and PP are still OK. Could this be a virus?

Just thinking, if things are really missing...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Stack icons are invisible and labels grey with no way to identify them!

Why is my stack not working? I can't identify anything in my stack but the stack does work ie i can click on the icon, which i can see but not identify, and it will open a document i have downloaded?

My stacks icons do this as well. My Applications stack (which uses a grid view) works fine, even when this issue is affecting the others and if you change them to grid view, you get labels and pics. I have had this happen twice . . . the first time I logged out and back in and that fixed the problem. killall Dock in terminal did not help. I have no idea what causes/d this . . . it seems completely random. I'd hate to have to resign myself to a log out/in or restart everytime this starts happening.

  • How to retrieve the stacks icon on the dock?I accidentally put it in the trash.

how to retrieve the stacks icon on the dock?i accidentall put it in the trash.

Find the folder it linked to in the Finder and drag that to the right of the Dock's divider line. It'll most likely be either the Downloads or Documents folder in your home folder, which is accessible from the Finder's Go menu.

  • HT3739 how do I replace the Stack icon to the dock?

the stack icon located in the dock has disappeared.  how do I restore it?

Drag it back from the Finder; the Documents and Downloads folders are located in your home folder, and the Applications folder is at the top level of the drive.
