Dock for MacBook

For MacBook user that asking for MacBook dock or people that hold they plan to buy MacBook because it lack of Docking Station, there is docking available from third party vendor.
Just google or search using your browser for it.
Too bad the price is quite high.
Good Luck.
ps: Sorry I cannot post the link since I don't endorse or make money or affiliated or taken benefit from this post or that third party vendor.

I wasn't the one looking, but you got me curious so I found it - wasn't that easy though. A lot of webpages with people griping that Apple does not make a dock. Finally I found where someone mentioned BookEndz docks. It is easier searching if you know that
Thanks. I have no idea if they are any good, and I am not getting anything either. Just killing a little time winding down after a long day at work

what is the best way to dock the macbook pro

There wouldn't be much point. A docking station would be one thing to plug in, and an external USB keyboard/hub with a mouse attached to it plus a screen only makes two things. And since the MBP doesn't have a docking station connector of any kind, any hypothetical docking station would still have to connect to both the USB and DVI ports.
If you really really want something, get a two-port USB/DVI KVM switch and only use one of the ports.

  • Monitor for Macbook Pro, Please help!!!

    Hey guys,
I have a middle 2009 Macbook Pro, and want to connect an external monitor as primary monitor. My budget is around 300-400, and hope to find a relatively perfect one in that price range. I'm really care about brightness, and don't like dim/dark ones. I mainly use the monitor to watch movies and play a few games. 27 inch would be perfect....well, if it has to be smaller.
if anyone is familiar with monitor, please help me out.
    I'm considering HP 2711X, Samsung P2770 HD.
    any suggestions would be appreciated!!

I am surprised no one asked you the following question regarding your response.
What if I don't what 2 displays and I only want to support the external monitor? Can I be in extended mode and have only 1 display?
The reason why I ask is because I am going to buy a dock for my MacBook (2012). The dock forces the MacBook to close thereby rendering the internal display useless.
I think what I am after is some sort of "extended to external" mode.

  • Adding another screen for MacBook Air

I have a late 2008 MacBook Air, and am looking to add an additional screen when working in my home office---drag and drop screen to screen.  Does anyone have suggestions on docking station or way to this?

BTW:  I am aware on how to do this, when you can plug the mointor directly into the laptop or there is a specific docking station.  I am just looking for the best options available for MacBook Air.
    Thanks!

  • The normal value of battery capacity for macbook pro

    Hi there,
I noticed my battery full charge capacity value is way below the technical specification from Apple.
    For macbook pro 15" early 2011 version a 77.5W battery is built-in.
However, so far after 4 cycle, my full charge capacity is 6913mAh.
It seems that I missed something. Though I didn't really notice the initial value when it's brandnew.
Statistically what's the average value of the new battery will be ? around 75W or 7500mAh? Any idea?

  • I bought the wrong version as I need it for macbook pro but somehow bought windows...help

I guess I will have to wait until normal office hours.  I have no idea why it bought the window version as I did not realize that is what was selected.  I hope I can get it exchanged for the photoshop elements 13 for macbook pro retina display.     Anyone know if this is an easy switch and one they will do?

When buying HD versions of shows, only the HD copy will automatically download now (probably due to requests from people who don't need/want the SD version and complained about it being forced on them). The SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes, though. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select TV shows. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the shows and be able to download them.

  • How can I create a custom dock for all users?

    Hello,
I would like to create a custom dock for everyone that uses a certain Mac. I have found a bunch of stuff, but it is outdated. Most of the tutorials are for 10.4 or 10.5. I am using 10.7.4 and I have found nothing regarding that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance

  • How can I create a default dock for all users (Mavericks)?

I would like to modify the dock to display specific installed applications.
I then want this dock to be the default dock for any users that log in.
    OS is Mavericks.
    All users are AD users.
    No server management.
We use Deep Freeze to revert the Mac to the way we set it up.
I can find info for previous versions of OSX; basically just copying the plist, but I can't find anything that works for Mavericks.
    Any help would be appreciated!

You could set up a user template for new user accounts, but you can’t stop individual users from modifying their Dock to suit their needs.
I don’t know how to modify the user template, so you’ll have to google for it.

  • Does Av digital adapter works with the universal dock for remote control?

if I only connect the Lightning to 30 pin adapter to the universal dock for remote control it works so good with music, spotify, Netflix, YouTube etc.
but if I add the av digital lightning adapter to watch on Tv, the dock and remote control don't work anymore    what can I do? I want to watch stuff on tv and use the IR dock for remote control please help me what's going wrong?

    Thanks for your advice.
I recently purchased a universal dock for my iphone 3g. It works great. I just had one question. When my iphone is sitting on it for lets say 20 - 30 minutes. Then if i press the buttons on the remote. nothing happens! If I then press the home button while it is on the cradle then, the remote, it plays music. There after lets say if I stop stop the music through the remote and again press the remote button after a few minutes it starts playing. So what happens after a long time. Why do i have to press the home button on the iphone for the remote to work. Is that how it is supposed to work???
    Thanks

  • Compatibility of the ipod nano 2nd gen to the dock for ipod classic 3rd gen

Is the ipod nano 2nd generation compatible to work with the old dock for the 3rd generation of ipod classic?

Well it's compatible in the sense that it will work with the iPod as the dock connector is the same.
However, it's way too large and the nano will be nowhere near a snug fit so you risk damage to the delicate connector pins if you are not extremely careful.

  • Why SLFM is not enabled for Macbook 13" Aluminum late 2008 model?

    Hi All,
Does anyone know why SLFM is not enabled for Macbook 13" Aluminum late 2008 model?
I just found this out after I installed bootcamp and Windows 7 on my Macbook 13" with P8600 2.4Ghz CPU 2GB RAM and 250G HDD after more than a year of using it.
After I installed the CPU monitoring widget on Windows 7 and CPUZ, I noticed that the lowest Freq that my Macbook operates even with <5% CPU load is only 1.5Ghz and VID @1.0V.
I installed Coolbook on OSX to confirm what I saw on Windows. I was surprised that SLFM is not visible in Coolbook which is the same result I got from Windows 7 CPU monitoring widget and CPUZ.
I checked with our local Mac support and they got the same results for all of Macbook 13" Aluminums late 2008 model. SLFM is not visible on Coolbook which means, it is not enabled.
I tried to install Coolbook on my wife's Macbook Pro 13" 2010, which has the same spec, P8600 2.4Ghz CPU and 250G HDD. The only difference is the memory which is 4GB RAM. There, SLFM is enabled and works just fine, running at 798Mhz @0.875V.
Can anyone please help confirm if this is really the case for Macbook 13" late 2008 model?
Because I checked the Intel P8600 Datasheet and SLFM should always be enabled. Otherwise, it will affect battery life as well as long term reliability of the CPU.
I would appreciate if the Macbook and Macbook Pro owners in this forum can help confirm using Coolbook the status of SLFM in your own Macbooks. You may use any other tool in checking the SLFM and share it with us if you believe it is more reliable and better than Coolbook. Thanks.

BTW, Here is what I got from Coolbook for comparison. As you can see the late 2008 Macbook has no SLFM info.
