Dock icon shows yesterday's date when closed

Per the title, dock icon shows Dec 1 when iCal is closed. When I open it, it changes to today's date, but when I quit it reverts to 12/1.
Trashed preference file, no change.
Not the biggest deal--just takes me back to Tiger--however I do get concerned when something "new" starts happening for no apparent reason.

dfreiwald,
Have you removed the icon from the Dock and replaced it with the iCal icon located in your Applications folder?
I would say this is more of a nuisance than something to worry about.

  • OSX Lion Server app hangs; dock icon shows incrementing counter

I'm running OSX Lion (10.7.3) on a MacMini.
since yesterday, the following concistenly happens: when I start the server app, it says "connecting to the server" next to the spinning wheel at the bottom right corner of the app window. After a few seconds, the app's dock icon shows a red counter (akin to the "unread counter" of the mail app) which is continuously being incrememted, and the (in)famous colored spinning wheel comes up as well: the server app hangs, and shows up as "Not Responding" in the Activity Monitor.
I've checked the System Diagnostic Reports on the Console window, and it reports the Server app as hanging, followed by a few thousand lines of messages ...
Does anybody know what goes wrong, or better, how to resolve this problem??

I have the exact same issue. I can see from Console.app, that
    opendirectoryd: got error 1100
    Can somebody please help?

  • How to stop the dock from showing all hidden images when hiding then showing applications

How to stop the dock from showing all hidden images when hiding then showing applications

It's not really something to snap a screen shot of. I believe it would need to be a video clip. For instance, when I am working on multiple images in Photoshop, I often need many images open at the same time, but I only have one image viewable and active. The hero image is active on screen while I hide the other images in the dock by hitting the yellow - button on the images. Then I "Hide" Photoshop to do something in the Finder. When I go back to Photoshop, every image that is hidden in the dock will pop open again in the active window, not just the image I was currently working on. I want these images to stay in the dock until I need them, no matter how many times I Hide the Show Photoshop.

  • Calendar widget shows yesterday's date

My calendar widget shows yesterday's date. I have tried clearing the app cache and data. That did not work. Nor did clearing the cache partition. I'd hate to have to do a factory reset just for this one little very annoying issue. And no, the device is not in airplane mode. Help!

This is certainly a unique situation KEVATTLE! Let's get you a solution to your calendar concern once and for all. Can I assume that you are using the original calendar app? If so then what software version do you have on the Droid Ultra? Have you always had this issue since owning the device? If so then try downloading a 3rd party calendar and see if the date changes from day to day. Keep us posted with the results.
    Thank you…

  • How can I set screen saver clock which show time and date when all screen is black. Other phones have this option but I didn't find on iphone. Pl guide.

How can I set screen saver clock which show time and date when all screen is black. Other phones have this option but I didn't find on iphone. Pl guide.

HA!  I figured the find my iphone out!!!!! You can have more than one icloud account in "Mail, Contacts and Calendars".  So my husband's & kids' phone icloud account under "settings, icloud "is their individual @me.com account.  Set it to everything you want EXCEPT Find My Iphone.  Then under "settings, mail/contacts/calendars" you set up both accounts (your @me.com which may already be there), then add another with the main appleID and enable ONLY Find My Iphone.  Now when any of us log into Find My Iphone from any device with our main apple ID for the app store, all the devices show up!!!! YIPPEE.  I made my own day!
I think the message I got previously was because I hadn't disabled the find my iphone on the @me.com account first.

  • I want to Firefox resume previous session when it crashes, but I can't make it to do it when I set it to forget my personal data when closing.

Until the most recent versions of Firefox (let's say FF 10 or 11), when the software crashed I had the option to resume the last session when reopening it. I could do this even when I made it clear all my personal data when closing it in normal ways (i.e., when I quit the program without crashing, Firefox would not keep any personal information).
Now, however, Firefox will only restore the previous session after crashing if I don't make it clear personal data after normal quitting.
How can I fix this? I want it to restore previous session only after crashing, not after a normal exit.

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop down list:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Did you disable to remember form data if you do not want Firefox to remember it?<br />
Be aware that you still have to remove already saved form data in that case via Clear Recent History.

  • Dock icon shows 13 messages unread?

My Mail Dock icon shows that I have 13 unread messages but I have read all of them. How or what can I do to fix this? It is very anyoing to see this as I think there are more messages that need to be read than are really there.
Thanks for your help with this.

Make new smartfolder set to display unread messages only (in the unlikely case that they exist but can't be found in the regular folders), they may be visible this way.
That worked for me - Thanks

  • ICal dock icon "stuck" on fixed date

Today is July 6, but the iCal dock icon on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard says 5. Yesterday, it said 1, but I rebooted last night. The icon changes to the correct number when I launch iCal, but as soon as I quit, it goes back to showing the day I last rebooted.
Any ideas? This one has me stumped. No problem with iCal running on my Mac Mini with Leopard. Adding new events doesn't change a thing.

I noticed this morning mine said Jul 7. When I clicked on it to open iCal, then closed iCal it said Jul 9. Annoying since I use that icon as a quick "date check" sometimes.

  • Showing yesterday's data in SSRS

    Hi Guys,
I need some help with an expression for SSRS. I need to get only the data for the last date in the query . I just want the previous date information whereas on Monday, it's going to be Friday's information.
I tried with this as a test but is not working.
    =IIF(Fields!OpenDate.Value >= DateAdd("d",-1,today),COUNT(Fields!InFxO.Value), 0)
I need it for to create a dashboard and show yesterday's factory output.
    Thanks

    Hi Eric1000,
According to your description, you want to count the number of InFxO values when OpenDate is prior to the current day.
In this case, we can use IIF function returns value of InFxO depending on whether OpenDate is before today, then use Count function returns a count of non-null values specified by the expression, evaluated in the context of the given scope. Please refer
    to the expression like below:
    =Count(IIf(Fields!OpenDate.Value < Today(), Fields!InFxO.Value, Nothing))
Besides, Sum function returns the sum of all the non-null numeric values specified by the expression, evaluated in the given scope. We can also use Sum function to implement the function like below:
    =Sum(IIf(Fields!OpenDate.Value <Today(), 1,0))
If there is any misunderstanding , please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,

  • Dock icon showing 'do not' symbol

After upgrading to OS X Lion 10.7.3, I noticed several dock icons with 'don't' symbol.  What is it?

Great choice. So basically, unless you have something vital to your workflow that is showing as no longer supported, try updating it, otherwise uninstall them. I think I only had about two old Plc programs when I updated AppleWorks being one, so really no noticeable dig fence in workflow and much prefer working in Lion.
    Good luck

  • Photos on my Mac show the wrong date when imported from a portable Hard Drive

I’ve got loads of photos that I had imported from my old PC.Last night I decided to start going through them and trying to get them sorted
prior to importing into iphoto. I discovered that some of the pictures (in particular ones I have taken from my old Iphone) all had the same date and time
assigned to them. When I checked the Exif details, it listed the correct camera etc, but the date created seems to have changed to the date I copied them to my portable hard drive.
I thought this was strange as when they were on my PC I thought they were correct. I booted my PC up and checked the portable hard drive on Windows. When viewed on my PC the pictures all have the correct time and date assigned to them. However when I plug the same portable hard drive into my Mac the same files show up as being created on a more recent date (say 20th Jan 2013).
I’ve done a lot of research last night, although I can find no forum with this exact problem, I feel it must have something to do with compatibility. The portable hard drive is FAT32, and I am assuming that in order to ensure all of the photos information is transferred correctly in needs to be NTFS.
The problem I have is how do I transfer my files again from my PC to an NTFS drive, whilst keeping all of the correct date and time information assigned to the photos. My understanding is that the 2 aren’t compatible.
Has anyone ever had this problem? It mainly seems to be with photos I have extracted from my Iphone or edited in some form by rotating them.
I have a 13" Macbook Pro Retina with OSX Mavericks installed.

What you may want to do is archive as a Zipfile the photos and then transfer them to the Mac.     It is possible some of the metadata is being lost on the FAT32 formatting.    USB Flashdrive might work better than a FAT32 formatted hard drive, as I do know that most USB Flashdrives are formatted about the same as SD media cards, which manage to preserve the data when copied from camera to Mac.    My big question is, do you still have the photos on media cards?  You might just want to get a media card reader on your Mac, if the photos are not on SD cards, and transfer them over with the media card reader.
I do believe Retina MacBook Pros all have SD card readers built-in.
Note: I've asked this be moved to the MacBook Pro forum.  MacBook without the secondary name refers to the consumer notebook Apple stopped making in 2011.

  • Hold down dock icon - show windows

With Snow Leopard, I used to be able to hold down an icon on the dock (where multiple windows were open for the same app), and it would show all of the various pieces of that app I had open.  With Lion you have to click and select open all Windows
Example, Outlook:  Holding down the mouse button would show all of the open mail messages.
Now, it only shows a menu, where you can select 'show all windows'.
is there any way to get that feature back? (other than going back to SL?)

The 2-finger double click doesn't work for me.
What worked is a three-finger swipe down (called "App Expose" in the system preferences) over the applicaiton icon.  If you use an external mouse, then you can use the MIssion Control button over the app (ie. for the Magic Mouse, you would double tap over the dock icon).

  • Mac Mail: Unread mail counter on dock icon shows "phantom" unread mails

The mailconter of my Mac Mail icon on the dock shows 25 unread messages, but I'm unable to find these inside Mac Mail as unread messages.
I did check all mailboxes and their subfolders for any undread messages that might be inside them, but I didn't find any.
Is there any way to reset or recalculate the unread mail counter for the dock icon?

    Hi Robert
The proposed rebuild did suddenly reveal the 25 unread mails insinde my archive mailfolders. By marking these as read again now shows the correct count of unread mails on the dock icon.
Thanks a lot, your hint was most helpful!
    Regards
    Erich
