Dock Icons Missing after running Onyx

Hello Folks,
I just ran Onyx and did a restart. I now have about 12 of my dock icons missing, can anyone tell me what I need to do to restore them?
Many thanks,
Jim

I tried just clicking on each icon that was gone, and as I did with each one, they came back to normal. In my case where each icon was there was a blank icon in its place, that I clicked on.

    D-fest,
I was upset about the YouTube app as well, and my initial impressions were that the Apple YouTube app was better, but after using it a bit I realized the Google YouTube app was actually better. Some of the features are initially not obvious (in this case it was a matter of what I was used to), but they are all there and more. It seems to generally work better too.
I don't stream an awful lot, but I have not experienced any wifi drops while doing so yet.

  • [Solved] Gnome 3 Shell - Icons Missing After Update

After my last update session, some icons went missing in Gnome. Even more unsettling, only some are missing. From what I can tell, my application icons haven't gone anywhere, but things such as minimize, restore, close, etc. are 404. Here's a photo to explain: https://vps.nullh.net/uploads/gnome-icon-issue.png I also noticed nvidia is included in the last update. I searched the forums, but all of the other problems seemed to be different problems (e.g. application icons were all bunched up/missing, desktop icons "missing", etc.) I feel like I should probably have more icons in the folders, too, but I haven't looked in there before the problem to be sure. Also, Alt+F2 "r" doesn't make a difference, the shell reloads but the icons are still AWOL. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

  • Icon missing after installed Adobe

    Hello,
Does anyone have the mac icons missing issue after installed adobe creative cloud installer?
My macbook pro icons were missing (didn't show) right after I installed Adobe Creative Cloud Installer (download from Adobe website).
At first, I thought the issue is my machine, so I went to apple store genius bar and left my mac for a week to let them find out the reason.
Apple erased my system and reinstalled it, and machine passed all the diagnose test.
Yesterday, I got my mac at apple retail store and everything was normal (no icon missing).
Right after I installed Adobe Creative Cloud Installer, the icons were missing. Then, I uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud Installer, everything was back to normal, including icons were back.
I have no idea how this happen and why. But according to apple, they told me it should be the software issue and ask adobe for help. Adobe there is no phone call support form Adobe.
Does anyone have the same issue like this, or does anyone know how to solve the issue?

    Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your reply. Please see the screenshot.
This is when I try to create a folder, it happens like this.
The second one is after I close this folder and reopen it. Please the second image.
The last image is very funny which I am not able to see anything form applications folder. But, actually, there are a lot of things. As you can see from Dock, there are many things like imessage, Photoshop, chrome etc. They just not shown!
I can only uninstaller the Adobe Creative Cloud Installer to solve it.
Do you have any idea how to solve it by any chance? Apple said it was caused by the software. They even replaced my logic board to solve it, but they still couldn't.

  • Dock icons disappear after 10.5.7 upgrade & .mac sync

    Hi -
I have recently upgraded to 10.5.7, but now I am "loosing" dock icons after a .Mac (mobileme) sync. If I place an icon in the dock, it will remain in-place for about ~5 seconds then disappear completely.
I tried renaming my ~/Library, logging out then logging in, and although it was a "fresh" user the dock was working correctly (I could drag apps into it just fine with disappearing).
When I replaced my real ~/Library, the disappearing dock icon issue returned.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know what is going on with the 10.5.7 upgrade to cause this issue? I have quite a lot of necessary things in my Library (about 21gb worth) so can't really do without it.
    TIA,
    C.

    Thanks for your reply.
I couldn't reset the mobile me sync data; the settings would not save and also my various machines which are sync'ed via mobile me were not displayed.
So I used TimeMachine to restore a copy of my Library (from a version which was about a week old) and all seems back to normal now. I then reset the sync database as you suggested, which worked fine. Thank goodness for backups!

  • My dock icon missing?

My Excel for Mac dock icon is missing.  The space or gap is there and I am able to open the app, except that for some reason there is no icon.  All the other Office for Mac app like Windows and Power Point are good.  I restarted and the icon is still missing.  Is there any setting I can go to?
    Thank you.

    Dansyacht wrote:
Are you saying you have an invisible icon?  If you can launch Excel by clicking on the "gap" try to right or control click and select Options > Remove from Dock.  Now find Excel in the application folder and drag it to the dock.  Does it show up now?
Thank you.  Yes I did that.  The first time it didn't work and was still invisible.  It worked the second time.
My question now is how did that happened in the first place?  Did I clicked on something to make it invisible?

  • Why doesn't the dock icon update after I update my apps?

When I have app updates available, the dock icon shows the number pending. After I perform the updates via the App Store, the dock icon still shows the previous number. Even after a week!

I don't have any problem with the actual update process: it works like a charm on both my Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro. Being able to install my purchased apps on both computers is great, and the App Store applications on the two computers always know what has been updated on each. It's just that darned Dock icon! Here's hoping that the bug gets fixed sooner rather than later.

  • ITunes 9.2.1 & iPhone 3GS iOS 4.0.1 - Apps Icons Missing After Sync

    As stated on the title.
It was syncing fine with all the icons and everything when I was running 3.1.3, but after i updated to the new iOS and the new iTunes, the apps have been getting funky. Sometimes they'll go missing or moved around quite a bit. Anyone else have this problem? I have two other co-workers with the same problem. I am running Windows 7 64-Bit
    First co-worker: 3GS on iOS 4.0.1 & iTunes 9.2.1 - Using Windows XP
    Second co-worker: 3G on iOS 3.1.2 & iTunes 9.2.1 - Using Windows 7 32-bit
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Is this a common problem with the new iTunes?

I had the problem where I got an unknown error when upgading from 3.1.3 to 4.0.1 last night. It put my phone into recovery & said that I had to restore it. Tried to twice but I still kept getting the unknown error message. Wasn't until I restarted my computer that it let me restore.
All of my music, videos, contacts, etc are fine. But I found that none of my apps were restored to the phone. So I had to go back through & manually drag each one back onto the iPhone in iTunes and then re-sync it. But now none of the apps will load or open. I have tried switching the phone off & back on a number of times but it hasn't helped.
Next I am going to try to restore again & see if that helps. From what I understand, the apps should have also been restored from the previous backup. Am not sure what happened in my case though

  • Desktop icons missing after wake up from sleep

I use my old Mac Pro with Lion installed controlled from my new Mac Pro in a setup with Apple Remote Desktop. Everytime the old Mac wakes up after a sleep all desktop icons is missing. I asume that they are "off screen". Further more all Finder dialogs will be hidden in the lower left corner of the screen and impossible to click on "ok" buttons.
I doesn't help to change the monitor resolution. I have been doing so many different things and been looking on the net for long time!
The old Mac runs Vienna Ensemble Pro and this app will not let you quit without "asking" again and again "do you want to quit" and so on. Finally I have to go to the computer room next to my studio and turn off the machine!!
Any hints to why this is happening and how to correct it is very much appreciated!

In another Mac forum saying that after the 10.7.1 update, need to reset the PRAM to get this issue solved.

    Greetings,
I just upgraded my device software from 6.0.0.415 to 6.0.0.706, and two icons are now missing from the All screen. I've been able to figure out that one of the missing icons is MySpace. How do I find out what the other one is?

Actually, if they are AppWorld provided apps, they should...the AW servers forever maintain record of your apps. Sometimes, the on-device AW client loses it's sync with the servers, but that can be recovered by clearing the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    6. Return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes).
If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
It does, of course, require you to be using the exact same BB ID/AppWorld credentials.
Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • Toolbar icons missing after scrolling document

    Hi There,
I have a problem with Adobe Reader X
When i open a large PDF file (1000 pages ore more) then after a while scrolling up and down trough the document my icons in the toolbar are lost!!! The toolbar it self and the page number and character size box are visuable.
This happens olso for the other documents that i have opened on that moment.
Only solution so far is close everything and start adobe reader all over again.
here are two screenshots to clarify what i mean:
    first the normal view,
    Second the missing icons,
Any ideas what is causing this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marco

One way to tell would be to do an install of the standard Reader <http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/> …of course you would need to uninstall this version first.

  • Bridge Browser icon missing after the upgrade to OS2

I have suddenly realised that the Bridge Browser icon has been missing from my PlayBook after the Upgrade to OS2. My service provider data plan supports browsing and I use to do that earlier on OS1. Now a days, since I am mainly using Mifi device...did not use Bridge Browser....BUT suddenly realised that this icon is missing.....
Any idea what I need to do to get that icon back on PlayBook? and also use it....

It's really funny...The OS2 manual says that there will be an icon for Bridge Browser....but in reality...you do not require any separate bridge browser icon...Browser main icon works for both...wifi connection as well as bridge connection....
I am surprised, why RIM has not highlighted this fact in its OS2 manual.....
    Anyways....my problem is resolved....
