Dock only hold 1 server volume at a timee

mostly OSX 10.3.9 os's and G5's
We moved our office to a new location recently. New server running Windows 2003 standard, active directory and a Domain. The one issue that is bugging me is network volume shortcuts. We have 10 volumes. They can all be mounted and available on the Mac's. I used to be able to drag them to the right side of the dock to create multiple shortcuts. Now, I can only get one shortcut to stay there at a time. If I drag another volume in there, it makes room in the dock for it, but when I let go of the mouse button, it doesn't dock. We have other sites running win 2k and win 2k3 servers, but not active directory, and they can add as many network volumee shortcuts as needed.
Has anyone else ran into this issue and is there a solution?

To use USB disks, each disk must be plugged into a differs USB controller. A hub will obviously be on one controller, so that won't work. But many computers have only one or two controllers on the motherboard and then use port multipliers (basically internal
hubs) to support more ports. So you have to know your motherboard and which ports are on which controllers. And again, only one drive per controller.

Sometimes this works

However, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility and you will have to wait for an firmware update for the Bose or an iOS update.

Hide a Server Volume

I can use this command in Lion to hide a server volume.
mkdir /Volumes/.Server
mount -t smbfs //user:pass@Server /Volumes/.Server
But I can not get that to work in Snow Leopard. Any ideas to get hide a server volume in Snow Leopard but still have it accessible. I only want one server volume hidden so I dont want to hide all server volumes.

I got it to work
mkdir /Volumes/Server
/sbin/mount_smbfs -o nobrowse //user:password@Server/Server /Volumes/Server
This works on Snow Leopard and Lion

It is true that the only way to sync your Mac with iCloud is to upgrad. You need to be running OS X Lion 10.7.2 or higher in order to sync your Mac with iCloud. Performing finds on Server Volumes yields no results

After upgrading to Leopard 10.5.6 I can no longer perform a searches on server volumes. This was not an issue with prior OSX version installed of 10.4. This is a Windows server. When ever I do a find (command f) and choose a volume (let's say volume1) mounted on my Mac which is a server volume and do a find for a job# or any other item in that volume it reverts to performing the find on my Mac. If i then click again on that volume that is shown on the top of the search window it finds nothing. It will only find items in the volume if I click into a particular folder in it and search for something in the folder. I don't want to search individual folders. I want to search the whole volume. All other Macs here at work as well as other friends at differnt business have complained to me about the same issue. Help

AFAIK, it's a known problem. Search these forums for *search shares, search servers, etc.* and see if there are any viable solutions. I don't have a network or servers, so there's no way for me to test. Good luck.

Prefs code show server volumes in sidebar by default?

I support a K-12 installation of around 4000 Macs, roughly 1000 of which are now running Leopard. I'm creating a new image for these systems, and cleaning up glitches, including this one:
In Tiger, mounted server volume names appeared in the sidebar below the hard drive icon in any Finder window. When you click on the volume name, the contents of that volume are immediately available as any regular disk would be. When you click the eject icon beside the volume name, only that volume is ejected.
In Leopard, the server name appears in the sidebar instead of the volume name. The server name is not particularly meaningful, since it's the volume name which our users recognize. When you click on the server name, a list of available volumes appears after a longish pause. This also creates confusion ("what are those other names?" "can I save there?" "why do these appear?"). When you click the eject icon beside the server name, all mounted volumes are ejected. Many of our education applications don't handle well this new way of accessing server volumes -- some crash, some hang when you click on the server name instead of a volume name. This is a serious reduction in ease of use for our end-users! Now they have to deal with the confusion of clicking on an unfamiliar item like the server's name, then figure out which share they want to use, and finally save their document ("why can't I save to the server like I can save to my USB key?").
I haven't yet found a way to reproduce Tiger Finder's shared-volume-in-the-sidebar behaviour as a default, beyond manually dragging each server volume to the sidebar (not an ideal solution, since volume names change, and servers change). Is there some XML key I can add to the Finder prefs to revert to the old way of displaying server volumes in the sidebar?

I have the same problem (and there are threads archived starting 2007 dealing with the same issue) This is not a SERVER problem. Its simply that the 10.5 finders sidebar does not show mounted volumes or mountpoints anymore. Instead of that you see whole servers, which makes navigation slow.
Any way to get TIGERS behaviour back?

Try resetting your iPad. Hold Power + Home until the Apple logo appears.

I am taking "fails with many clients" to mean that the method fails with "certain clients". (At first I thought maybe you meant, "once you have a lot of clients connected, it fails").
This is due to limitations of Web Browsers as FTP clients.
Even within the "standard" FTP world, it is generally accepted that Web Browsers make lousy FTP clients. This is especially true for use of this feature, which is definitely not "standard". Web Browsers make so many assumptions about what to do with a URL that you type in, or how to build the file links to what is found at the destination, that they just cannot make reasonable use of this special feature.
This FTP "remote server navigation" feature was brought over from NetWare. Web Browsers couldn't make use of it then, either.
I expect this navigation feature to work on:
- command line clients
- GUI FTP clients, *if* they allow you to enter an explicit command so you can enter the "cd" command manually, rather than just click to navigate.

I cannot rename files located on a server volume in Mac OS 10.7.4

I have a user who is unable to rename any file types in bridge while using Mac OS 10.7.4. The same is true for metadata. When clicking on the name, the field should allow name changing but it does nothing when clicked on. Same goes for the metadata fields.
It isn't a permission issue as the user is able to rename the files using the Finder application.
I reproduced the error in CS4 Bridge, also on Mac OS 10.7.4.
However, this is not an issue when using Mac OS 10.6.8. There seems to be a fundamental issue with the way Bridge and Mac OS 10.7.4 are interacting.
What would cause this? Since metadata is very important, we are essentially handcuffed by upgrading to Lion. This may be a question for Apple, but I would like to get some input from the experts at Adobe as to why this would be occurring.
Any and all advice is welcome
P.S. this problem was reproduced on various machines- so it's not hardware specific nor is it a network permissions issue.

Thanks for your input. It certainly is odd and made more difficult by a lack of error prompts! What rings out to me is that all signs point to Lion and Bridge, since I can get multiple Bridge versions to work just fine using an earlier OS.
I'm trying to figure out how to get some logs generated, but since no error comes up its proving diffucult to pinpoint where the application is failing to communicate with the server volume.

Is the camera damaged? Could be a hardware problem.
Try:
Close the Camera app in the multitasking bar, then try again.
Restart/Reset/Restore your iPod. In that order.

You cannot use iCloud Storage to suppliment your iPad. They are mainly used to backup iPad.
Free up space on iPad
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad.

WebI does not return failed when scheduling a report which only holds partial results.
We have scheduled reports which take some time to run. When they are scheduled they sometimes show successful even though the report only holds partial results. The only indication is when you open the report as webi report you see the warning that it holds partial results.
When running the report manually, it works file.
The issue is not in the no of rows in the universe settings because we this unselected. The issue is that it times out.
The reason that it times out is that a lot of resources are used for loading and processing data when the report is scheduled. When running it manually, it works because at this time the serverload is less. the time in the universe is set to 10 min.
The version we have is BOXIR2-SP4.
Ok. Issue identified.
The question is - why is the report successful when it holds partial results? If this is normal behavior, noone can really trust the scheduled reports, especially when you save it to excel and send it by mail.
Is there a solution for this except increasing the allowed query time which would not solve the issu but only allow more reports to complete?

I get an error message in iPhoto when I click on thumbnails of pictures in certain albums. It reads 'the volume for "(file name)" cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again.' What does this mean and how do I fix it?

It means that you imported the files in Referenced mode and have now remvoed them from the Mac. Put the disk or card back.

My iPod touch is only holding about 20 apps and 16 songs and 3 movies and it says that it's space is full. I thought I had at least 6gb of memory. Is there something wrong with my iPod?

Just curious if anyone could help. I bought my daughter an iPod for Christmas and it's only holding about 20 apps, 16 songs and 3 movies. I deleted all of my pictures, so no pictures. And it continues to say that I need to delete some items, b/c there basically isn't enough free space. I thought the iPod touch, held alot more than that and that is the reason why I bought it. You are not giving us enough information. A singe move can easiy take more than one GB. Ehne you click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes on the computer a colored bargraph will show the discribution of storage used on the iPod. What does that show? If the "other" category is greater than about 1 GB you can restore yu iPod, sometimes to factory defaults/new iPod is required, to get it to its normal of about 1/2 GB.

Hi,
Yes you are right. At one sever where I was getting error, DateTime was in USA format and Where It was running successfully was in AUS format.
I changed from USA to AUS and I did another changes:
