Docked T440S on start up freezes on "Please Wait"

If my T440S is docked and I turn it on it stays at the "Please Wait" with the spinning circle.  If I undock and turn it on and wait until the Cntrl-Alt-Del login message appears and THEN plus it into th dock it work fine.
Any idea why?
PS- Just installed the fix for the extended monitors blacking out when docked.  Keeping my fingers crossed....

I have a similar problem with my T440s, I am running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise. If I dock it and boot up it freezes at the Windows graphic just before the ctrl-alt-del screen appears. One thing that I noticed is that if I unplug the NIC cable from the dock before I boot up, it will boot up fine. I can then plug the NIC cord back in and everything works fine. I have already updated the firmware on the dock to 2.22, as well as the bios and all drivers with Lenovo System Update.

i've jail break Iphone 3GS. i tried to restore setting (erasing all data and media) without connecting to computer/itunes. When it starts it freezes by showing apple logo only. what is the solution. please help me out. Here i don't have iphone service center too.

Although not illegal, Apple discourages a user from modifying the iPhone OS in any manner, including "jailbreaking".  Apple feels so strongly about this that discussing methods to assist a user trying to either jailbreak or "unjailbreak" an iPhone are prohibited.

  • Ipod Start-Up Freeze

I Have A iPod Touch and for the first week or so has been fine and then i suddenly started getting freezes when i tried to go into Music Photo's and Video's and it will highlight the chosen application but it wont load Please Help.

Well, it looks like you might have to do a restore.
You have to re-sync to load your music/video/pix but it might do the trick.
Do you know how to do it?
Attach the Touch and launch iTunes.
Select the Touch and hit the Restore button.

  • Does adding applicaions to Dock slow down start up time?

Does adding applicaions to Dock slow down start up time? I'm thinking about placing the whole creative suite on dock but I'm unsure whether it will slow down time it takes to start up my laptop, please help.

On the dock? Not particularly. If you have things starting up with the computer then yes.
Having lots of stuff on your desktop does though.
    Best of luck.

  • T440 - Win 8.1 - Freeze / hang after updates

    Hello Guys,
I have some T440 that are crashing / freeze screen , this start happen after Windows Updates.
On the Internet , i found some resolution ( roll back driver sata , update drivers and BIOS by Lenovo Updating, Remove malwares and virus). None of this things worked.
I like to know if this problem is happening to somebody else?
I belived it's something with the Windows updates and Lenovo.
I came to two conclusions, when not used wireless. the problem is not happening. And when the system is idle the problem shows.
    Thank You!

    [update]
System restore didn't work for my convertible.
BUT, updating the driver for the my wifi-card did the job.
    I've had to update Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1 for the build-in card (Intel® Dualband-Wireless-AC 3160) from 17.0.8 to 17.1.0.
Maybe that will work for your T440 too, depeding on your build-in wifi card?
    [/update]
Yep, one of the 11.11.2014 Windows updates causes that failure.
Have it on my (non Lenovo) convertible, too.
Heard from a Vaio Tab11-Convertible with the same problem.
My R400 with Win8.1 strangly doesn't show these symptoms (and doesn't show any updates at this date).
I'm not exactly sure what will fix this problem. Regards

  • After Effects just bounces in the dock but wont start

    Hi all,
Just installed CS4 production studio under Snow Leopard.  All works well and updated using the Adobe Updater.  All apps are fine except AE which just bounces in the dock a few times and then stops.  I read that this could be because Rosetta was not installed.  I installed Rosetta from the Snow Leopard DVD and still nothing.  Have restarted 3 times just in case (I also read that several restarts may be required to get it to work), but still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Dave

OK... Now I feel like Scott of the Antartic writing in his journal before the inevitable... I am writing this purely to help anyone else with the same issue to resolve it without the pain that I am still experiencing.  Hopefully the last entry will read "all solved" and not "I am about to pop outside... I may be some time..."
After using CS2 for the bulk of my work I thought I'd try and get this solved once and for all, especially as we have a DVCPROHD project coming up and need CS4 to do it.
OK... The so now I have the suite running, except Premiere is running under at trial without the presets and the updates fail when installing.  Contacted support this week, they wont re-open the original case because it has been over a month.  Fair enough, new case.
The adobe guy takes control of my machine, deactivates it, then from Finder deletes lots of folders.  He then asks me to re-install the products.  I do this (2 hours later) and run Premiere and it appears to work with presets.  I look a bit closer and notice that under the help menu of Premiere Register, Deactivate and Updates are all greyed out.  This is not the case in the other products of the suite.  OK, so not a major deal but does imply something is not installed right.  I run the Adobe Updater, Premiere updates, but AE, PS and several updates fail.
Call back to support.  This time the Adobe guy takes control of my machine suggests I deactivate the suite, run the un-install and then download and run the CS3 Clean script and re-install.  I do all this.  Another 2 hours later feeding discs into the machine... and... Premiere looks fine, presets all there... but wait for it... AFTER EFFECTS JUST BOUNCES IN THE DOCK BUT WONT START.
3rd call back to support and ask for the issue to be escalated.  This is difficult and I have to cause a fuss to realise that this problem is the same one that has been hanging around for months and that I am not prepared to spend more hours removing every trace of Adobe from my machine and re-installing - this doesn't work.  The support technician asks me to delete a hidden folder that has all the Adobe patches in it, manually download the AE 9.0.2 update and install it.   It installs but AE wont start.  I explain that I've had enough and want the problem escalated.
I finally get a call back from a 2nd level engineer this morning.  After explaining the that AE wont start and then answering the question "why is this a problem for you!" we do some quick troubleshooting.  This time I have to pull out the network cable, turn off Airport, create a new user account, log on to it and then see if AE runs.  Which it does.  Within seconds we get launched into the pre-determined script, "if it runs under another user account then there is nothing wrong with the applications and I should call Apple".  After being patronised for a further 5 mins I had to PROVE to the guy that it was also possible that the fault was Adobes.  I also know the moment I phone Apple, the response will be "Call Adobe".
The only example I could give him at the time was to image a piece of software I had written that allocated memory based on the screen resolution (this is a user preference) and if my code was badly written and crashed when encountering a screen resolution bigger than my code was expecting.  OK, is that Apple's fault, no it is my code.  Will it run under one user and not another, yes it will.  There are a million other posibilities.  Some I agree could be Apple's, but equally some could be Adobes and the big fat fob off as soon as you can is terrible.
I have also since realised since leaving this call with the technician, that:
    1) This is a brand new iMac and the Adobe Suite was the 1st piece of 3rd party software installed on it.
    2) The iMac is for video editing and nothing else.
    3) This was working without presets before the Adobe guys deleted all these files and asked me to re-install.  It is more likely that they have deleted something they should not have rather than the a bug in the OS.  A bug in the OS is still possible but I suspect the problem is with a rogue bit of installation code from Adobe.
Finally incase anyone from Adobe is reading this:
I have paid thousands of pounds for this software.
I have been unable to use it for months.
A problem like this should be gold dust for you.  Here is the chance to get to the bottom of an issue that several people are having, understand the mechanics of what is going wrong.  Write a KB article as well as a patch and this would save the time/money and effort of an awful lot of people (including your own).
As a short thought experiment I would like everyone at Adobe to image the following:
You pay £1,000 of your own money for a tool to do your work on the promise that you can make this money back in productivity gains, new business, etc.
The tool you use every day to make a living won't work.  For the benefit of the experiment, imagine this is your email client, web browser or case management tool.
You have no IT group to replace your machine or to come and solve it.
You can't tell your customers that your software is down and you have to keep doing your job.
You have to spend an additional 3 days in your own time, working late or weekends to try and fix the software yourself.
You to keep downloading a Gigabyte of data 3 or four times and you have to pay for downloads.  Currently you are running up a bill of over £100 in downloads and phone calls.
You don't get paid the overtime and your customers start complaining you are late with your work.
You lose customers... you eventually get fired because you have lost too many of them.
...This is what it feels like for a small creative business to not be able to install the software they bought.

  • HT1477 When i disconnect my iPod 2nd Gen from my laptop, its display turns off and working freezes. Please help me.

When i disconnect my iPod 2nd Gen from my laptop, its display goes off and working freezes. Please help me.

The computer freezes?  There may be something wrong with the USB port.  If the laptop has more than one port, does this happen on any port?  If you are disconnecting the shuffle cable from the computer, does it make any difference if you disconnect the shuffle at the other end of the cable first, then disconnect the cable from computer?  Or if you currently disconnect the shuffle from cable first, try it the other way.
You may be able to work around this problem, if you get a self-powered USB hub.  Something like this one
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/USB2HB7PRO/
There are many choices, but be sure to get one that has its own power supply.  You can leave the shuffle cable connected to the hub, and connect the shuffle to the hub, instead of directly to the computer.  This may provide a "buffer" for whatever is causing your laptop to shut off when the shuffle is disconnected.  Since the hub has its own power supply, it will not rely on the computer for power to re-charge the battery.

  • HELP! Started as freezing and now won't start!

Just to start, I have a Satellite P500 (P500-ST6822 to be specific).
    Specs:
    System Manufacturer/Model Number: TOSHIBA/Satellite P500-ST6822
    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8700 2.53GHz
    Memory: 6144MB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M
    Hard Drives: Hitachi HTS723232L9A360 - 320GB
At first my laptop just started to freeze every so often. The last major change that happened was installing Bioshock 2, but I really doubt that is the cause of my problems. I do not pirate, torrent, download sketchy files. I build my own desktops, but when I have issues I can normally just blame myself and figured out what's wrong. Because this laptop was built by someone else, I'm at a bit of a loss.
When things were working, but still freezing, the freezing would even occur in Safe Mode. Now when I try to start it up, the lights come on as if it's working fine, but nothing shows up. It's not just that the display isn't working, otherwise it would make the Windows startup noise at some point after leaving it. On 3 occasions of trying to start it the computer beeped a couple times. 1 somewhat long beep and 2 quick ones.
Because nothing even shows up I'm doubting it being just a HDD issue (wish it was since I could just get a new one and be happy...), not an issue with Windows 7, or any driver issues.
I'm really at a loss here. My first instinct is to open it up and try to figure it out myself, but I can't do that without voiding the warranty on the whole system. So, what do I do? Can anyone help me figure it out?
    Solved!

that's why its called forums, not support. your stats are probably right, 85% of the post are those requesting for help, 10% responds asking for more help and only 5% helps, but, if you check the forums, some of those 85% are included in that 5% who helps. If you really need a fast resolution, though may not be as helpful as some of the computer gods in these forums (not me), call.

  • Macbook Pro 2009 freezes frequently PLEASE HELP!!

It started a few months ago when my Macbook Pro from 2009 suddenly started to freeze for no reason. I could surf on safari and it just started to freeze and I had to wait several minutes before it went back to normal, sometimes up to 15 minutes and longer. When it froze the spinning wheel came up or the arrow just stopped responding.
I tried to solve the problem by updating to OS X Mavericks but that didnt do the trick at all. After updating it worked fine for a while and then it went back to freezing. It got so bad I had to shut off the computer every time it froze. After a few weeks it didnt even start up, no matter what I tried. The grey screen appeared with the spinning wheel. The fan also used to sound really loud from time to time.
Anyways, I recently reinstalled Mavericks and I can now start it up normally, but the freezing problem still remain. As I have written this the spinning wheel has appeared 2 times for like 2 minutes at the time. It's quiet annoying. I have read for solutions but nothing seems to work. I have controlled and repaired my harddrive in disk-utility, resetted the NV-ram (I think it was), and much more. As you may notice, I am not very good in computers what so ever.
Anyone out there who may know what is causing this would be very much appreciated
