Docking issues with applications

Since I installed Mavericks, whenever my desktop goes to sleep or I switch between accounts, I'll find all my application windows docked to the menu bar.  Is there a setting I'm missing?  Is this a known issue?  Is there a shortcut key I'm not aware of

  • Issue with Applications, file paths, mobile accounts in snow Leopard OD

    Hello Everyone,
    The Facts:
    2 x Xserves running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Server
    (1 is a Open Directory Master, the other a backup/slave)
    About 20 end-users running 10.5.8 Leopard and 10 end-users running 10.6.2 Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro laptops.
    All laptops are Managed Mobile clients with full administrative privileges/rights for the local drive.
    The Issue(s):
    Having an odd issue with many applications like Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop etc. not remembering the last used file path and the default network home path showing up instead of the local one.
    This issue ONLY appears with the Snow Leopard clients and the Snow Leopard Server. No matter what, the default path will be the enduser's network home path. This leads to endusers constantly having to sync their home folders to get the copy or losing files altogether.
    The Leopard clients are unaffected, can save to the local hard drive by default and have no issue "remembering" the last accessed file's path (whether local or on the network).
    What gives? What changed? Any thoughts, workarounds, fixes most appreciated.

    Okay, I'll rephrase the issue
    When the Snow Leopard clients are connected to the network and can connect to the OD Master etc, the default path for saving files to the desktop changes to their network accounts e.g. afp://Server/Users/Enduser/Desktop. If they save a file, it will copy here and then the enduser has to synch to get a copy of the file on their local desktop.
    If the client is not connected to the network, no issue. Enduser can save files to the local desktop like normal.
    How do we change this such that the enduser can save to the local harddrive first regardless of being connected?
    All Snow Leopard Clients are mobile accounts which synch hourly the full profile.
    Any further thoughts or similar experiences gang?
    Something we could possibly change in the mcx settings perhaps or am a I missing the point?

  • Popup Issue with Application using SSL

    I am having an issue with one of our apex applications using SSL.
    I have a few popups in my application and for that I am using the Popup2 function that is built into APEX.
    When I run the app without a secure layer (directly from the server) I am able to get the popups and everything works fine.
    but when I run the app using the regular url https: the popup(s) does not work. When I checked the source code on the web page the error I got is as shown below. I found that the following apex_legacy_4_0.js file was truncated in the source code. It was not retrieved fully.

    Can somebody please let me know how I can fix this issue.
    Please Note: This was an application that was working without any issues for more than 2years. All of a sudden (since last month) we are getting this error. According to Our Network and DBA's we have not made any changes/patches to our servers.

    Ok. I figured it out. The url rewrite was missing in the config. Put it there and its working now.

  • IPhoto dock issue with Snow Leopard

    I have a small issue with iPhoto ever since installing Snow Leopard. I have 2 iPhoto libraries (College and Family). When I click on the iPhoto icon in the dock, it opens up the library I used last. This is the same in Leopard and Snow Leopard and that's fine. In Leopard, however, if I wanted to open a different library, I just held down the option key and clicked on the icon, and a window would pop up asking me which library to open. In Snow Leopard, the window doesn't open and iPhoto just opens the last library I used. Every time I want to open the other library, I have to open it through Finder or Spotlight, which can get annoying. Anyone know of a workaround?

    Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, remove iPhoto from the dock, replace it in the dock and try again.

  • Store Issues with Application Connection

    Trying to use the latest itunes to update applications on my Iphone 3. I am able to view items in the store and everything, but when i try to downlaod an application, or podcast, Itunes informs me that I cannot do this beause the connection has timed out. After reading some forums people suggested logging out and logging back into Itunes. I successfully managed to log out, but now I cannot log back in becasue of the connection time out... Any help would be apprciated

    I'm having same issues exactly, cannot download my app updates, and "network connection is lost". No reall suggestion what to do, just confirming my view of the recent wackiness emanating from the Store....

  • X1 Carbon / ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock: Issues with connecting with more than one Dock

    Hello fellow users / Lenovo,
    In our office we have several X1 Carbons and several ThinkPad USB 3.0 Docks (0A33970) located all over the office. We typically bring our X1 Carbons around and use each other's Dock during the course of work.
    However, we recently face a problem with the Ethernet interface not working with other Docks, other than the Dock that the driver was installed with.
    Using other Docks, the Ethernet interface comes up as a generic Ethernet device with a yellow warning triangle inside Control Panel.
    Using the Dock that the driver was installed with, the Ethernet device works as normal.
    It should be pretty easy to replicate this behaviour, just get an X1 Carbon (fresh, Windows 8.1) and connect a USB 3.0 Dock to it, and install appropriate drivers.Verify that the Ethernet port works correctly.
    Next, disconnect the Dock and connect another Dock to the X1 Carbon. Observe that the Ethernet interface does not work, and see the yellow warning triangle icon under Control Panel.
    Uninstalling and Reinstalling the drivers with the new Dock doesn't work either. Only the Dock that the driver was originally installed with will work.

    Would love an official response to this.

  • Docking Issue with Final Cut Pro 6

    I have an issue while docking FCP6 to work in another app. FCP will not undock and I am having to force quit every time I dock it.

    As David already said -the question has been posted here dozens of times and no-one has a solution.
    You have Mac OS X 10.6.2 according to the info under your message. Go to System Preferences and activate Spaces -it's a much more elegant way of working.

  • ITunes 9 issue with Applications

    I have iTunes 9 and it shows that I have 11 applications that need updating, when I try to update them iTunes Store say my account has no updates available. What is going on? I also have Snow Leopard and the new Safari.

    i am also experiencing the same issue - i use my iPhone to find out which apps require updating.

  • Permissions issue with applications

    I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and found that I was unable to change any of the icons of any of the pre-installed applications. Running 'ls -l /Applications' gave me this for every application:
    drwxr-xr-x+ 3 root wheel 102 Jun 27 02:06 TextEdit.app
    I took a look at the permissions for the Applications folder on a different hard drive that has Leopard installed, and here's what I got for every application there:
    drwxrwxr-x@ 4 root admin 136 May 18 16:55 TextEdit.app
    So I figured I'd just change the permissions on all my applications. After running 'sudo chown -R root:admin /Applications' and 'sudo chmod -R g+w /Applications/*', I was able to edit my icons again, so it looked like the problem was solved. However, repairing permissions in Disk Utility set everything back the way it was, and I was unable to change the icons of my apps again. From what I understand, wheel is the default group for root in OS X, and determines who can gain root access with su.
    The only benefit I can see in having all the pre-installed applications only accessible to the root user is that it's harder to accidentally delete one of them, since you'll get a prompt asking for your user name and password if you try. Even that doesn't make much sense, though, since you can just put an application back if you do accidentally delete it. Can anyone else using Snow Leopard check if they have the same permissions for their Applications folder? Also, if these are the correct permissions, does anyone have any idea why this was changed in Snow Leopard?

    V.K.: I tried your method, but Disk Utility set the ACLs back to normal as well. After I run the command, if I repair permissions I get this:
    Repairing permissions for “10.6 Boot Disk”

    ACL differs on "Applications/Utilities".
    Repaired "Applications/Utilities".
    ACL found but not expected on "Applications/Utilities/QuickTime Player 7.app".

    ACL found but not expected on "Applications/Utilities/QuickTime Player 7.app/Contents".
    Repaired "Applications/Utilities/QuickTime Player 7.app/Contents".
    When it's done I'm back to not being able to change my icons.

  • Syncing issues with applications

    Ugh,I just don't get it - I apologize in advance!
    So all of my applications where downloaded directly from my ipod touch (most were free, but some I paid for). When I go to sync my ipod touch on the computer, the applications will not download. When I go on the applications tab, I have a blank list on the left side and on the right is a the snapshot of my ipod touch with all of the apps.
    I need to get the applications on my itunes so I can transfer them to my iphone.

    I have this same problem with my ipod. The ipod is a 2g, 8g, and a 2.2.1. I bought and downloaded a few apps, and some went on and the others didn't. The ones that didnt go on were pocket god and flick fishing... Why is this? I've tried removing all my other apps and just putting those on but when i sync them they become unchecked in the applications section of my ipod touch! Help me!!!!!!!!!

  • Performance Issue with application logs

    Has any one come across or aware how to address a issue in Event Management on R/3 as well as SCM side where the application log tables (BALDAT) are loaded causing peformance issue to the system?I have checked the SAP notes in this connection but its not of any help.Any event change is causes lot of logs registration.

    Hello Anders,
    on R/3 side you can disable logs in transaction /SAPTRX/ASC0AO on AO Type and Event type level.
    In the EM/SCM system you have per Event Handler Type options to control the log in transaction /SAPTRX/TSC0TT.
    Logs for Event Messages can be disabled in transaction /SAPTRX/TSC0MBF.
    Recommendation is that you disable all logging in big production environments and only enable it when you have any problems.

    Hi Anurag,
    the .Net server for BPC 7.5 NW and the app/web server for BPC 7.5 MS can both run on either 32- or 64-bit server OS. However my understanding is that they are still 32-bit processes and as such have the same limitations on 64-bit windows as they do on 32-bit (in particular the addressable RAM limitation at 4 GB)
    Note, and this is important, that this is for version 7.5 only. The BPC 7.0 MS web/app server HAS to be on 32-bit OS.

    I have just followed EMF Forms tutorial on Mars Modeling platform and could get the forms run on application demo. Thanks a lot.
    But I could not share the project on existing EMF Store repository (did not work). I could start the server but next on first commit. it failed with the following message:
    org.eclipse.e4.core.di.InjectionException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Workbench has not been created yet.
    I tried to create a new repository (localhost) but I got same error.
    Any idea? should I try with E3 instead of E4 feature?

  • Issue with applications galery

    Hello,
    I am having an issue to display my component in Applications galery that I have deployed in my SharePoint (Foundation 2013).
    My applications (Client Web Part) didn't display all one after the other like "Generic List", "Items". Have you already experienced this problem ?

    I'm confused but I don't understand your answer. You 're just describing the picture but you don't explain the mechanism (Why 3 panels ? why only the 2 last items are in different page ?) . For information, I have in my solution 18 components and the next
    components are displayed as the same configuration (one by page).
    Please just tell me if you have a reference (msdn) to explain me how it works or if you have already experienced it ?

  • Issues with Applications - Software Update after ...

    Hi,
    I recently decided to reset my phone cause I thought it was getting slow. I have the latest firmware installed and have had the free navigation software installed since it was released. After i reseted the phone I wanted to install the latest and free navigation software so I choose Applications -> Software Update but there are no updates available for any software.
    When i reseted the phone i did it by using the method when pressing the power button+shift+space+back space if this is of interest.
    Hopefully someone can help me...I really want the navigation software installed.
