DOCKING STATION NO LONGER SUPPORTED since 7.06

I think people can be forgiven that Apple have a secret agenda when things like this happen.
OK my Logitek Dock and player didn't cost hundreds and hundreds but cost enough and now both my I-Phone 4S and Ipad2 will not play music. I am getting the message " THIS IPHONE/IPAD DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS DEVICE". I am dreading connecting my phones to the Mercedes Benz A20 sound system using the IM interface because I suspect that may not work either.
Anyone else having this problem and are there any fixes?

I am not totally sure from which version I jumped to and to be honest, its irrelevant.
The update notification on the Iphone flagged up the other day on the settings icon as normal but the Ipad didn't. I got it to search and the 7.06 became available. Only a few days ago I was using the Logitek dock ok.
To be honest with you, I am finding these 'restrictions' rather annoying. A perfectly good piece of equipment is now useless apart from charging.
Why restrict one type of dock and not another? Mine has no connection to the internet, it has no security issues it just charges and plays music so why in heavens name is it no longer supported?
This seems like selective hardware brand discrimination. I noticed it happen on a Bose dock at a hotel but my Mercedes SLK still works with the IM lead today.
Is it because its an Ipad 2 and a 4S with the 'old' connectors and its a clumsy marketing attempt to get me to upgrade to the new Ipad and Iphone and lightning socket? Pffft.
Dream on! I will upgrade my hardware when *I* wish, not when Apple says so. If everything becomes unusuable, I will go Android.
This sort of behaviour will as time goes just decrease Apples's share price even further. Their fantastic attempt to replace Google maps is a typical example.
One of these days a miracle either soon or far in the future, will happen that will be akin to the invention of the wheel and the invention of money.
It will revolutionise the retail world and the financial markets.
It will be when the retailer/manufacturere gives the customer exactly what they want.
Beware, Bill Gates and Balman found this out to their cost and Microsoft will NEVER recover.
What in Heaven's name is going on why cant people just leave things as they are?

APPLE DOCKING STATION NO LONGER WORKS WITH TOUCH 3G and 4G after ios 4.2.1 update.
I have both of these touches. I updated both 3g and 4g to ios 4.2.1 and poof...no docking station support other than charging, no audio and no remote function. My av/cable works with the tv, and the headphone jack still outputs audio, just no auido through the Apple dock and hte remote is dead. I purchased the dock from the apple store last year and it was working with both ipod 3g and 4g grrrrr...
Is Apple now in the bug trade business?, trade one for another....
    Anyone else have this problem?

My iPod Touch 3G running 4.2.1 works fine with the Apple docking station.
Perhaps you have a loose cable somewhere and/or a dead battery in your controller?

Clean any debris from the adapter, docking station connector and the connector on the Nano.

  • Videos no longer supported since Lion upgrade

Since upgrading to 3.1.3 and Lion videos are no longer supported in Aperture. Is there a solution to this?

I have been trying to find an answer to this for days.  I lugged my 27 in imac to genius bar last night and they said to wait because they are sure apple will have a fix sometime soon?
I have my managed library on a firewire extended hd.  I loaded aperture on an old macbook I have running snow leopard and it does just fine, on lion the videos won't play and crashes, sometimes it crashes regardless, preview images are pixelated.....
I have libraries everywhere now trying to find a solution.  If you drag a video out of the library, and then back into aperture, it will ask if I want to play in quicktime and then plays normally?  weird.

  • Bose docking station no longer works with software update

Has anyone figured out how to get their iPod to play music through their Bose docking station after the latest software update?

    - Some users have reported similar problems after updating the iOS.  I do not remember if it was for the Bose.  You can look at the previous podiscussions on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This".
You can also use the communities search box in the upright and search for: bose.
    - Have you contacted Bose or went to their support site?
    - f I recall, some accessores worked after reseting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sometime a restore did it too. For some, nothing helped.

  • PowerPC Applications are no longer supported since Lion was installed

Would someone please tell me what this is all about? My applications are not runnning since I downloaded Lion. Why would Apple do this? Why are they forcing me to purchase new software? Isn't a Mac Pro supposed to handle these applications? Why would they make an OS like this?
Please tell me that I am doing something wrong here and Apple is not costing me a fortune in new software.

I myself am EXTREMELY upset about this change with Lion.  I feel I wasted my $$$ upgrading because I am a NURSING student who spent a lot of money on learning tools to make myself "A BETTER NURSE for in the future", a nurse that needs these tools that are no longer supported and able to use because of Lion-I bet the people that came up with that not so bright idea did not think that well when they get sick, their nurse that had a MAC could have provided better care if she/he would have been able to use her learning tools Related to NURSING AND PROVIDING CARE FOR PATIENTS.  I do not think these people clearly thought this through.  I do not believe too many learning tools for any field these days comes with a cd strictly for Mac users.  And what ***** is I have an IMAC and a Macbook Pro.  They need to fix this.  This semester is almost up and I really need to be able to use these tools in my Macs.
I know this thread is old but I had to respond because I FEEL YOUR PAIN!! I am also a nursing student and for months now NONE of my resources work anymore!! I've been using my bf's PC and I'm getting sick of it and finally am taking the time today to try and revert back to Leapord. I can't take it anymore!!!!!!

  • Airport Express Base Station no longer supported.

Older version of Airport Express Base Station is no longer supported on my computer.  Apple Support advises to install firmware update using Airport Utility 5.6. But I cannot install 5.6 on my system (running Lion 10.7.5).  Help?  Are older Express Base Stations useless?

The easiest and quickest solution would be to use...or borrow for 5-10 minutes.....another Mac running Leopard (10.5.x), Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or a PC with Airport Utility installed on it to administer the older Express.
If that is not possible, there are unsupported methods to install AirPort Utility 5.6 on a newer Mac, but you will have to decide whether to trust an unknown source for this, and accept the fact that there will be no support if something goes wrong.
The Internet is the place to look if you decide to do this.

  • No audio from my docking stations any longer

My iPod Touch (~2 years old) will no longer play audio from my two docks.  This problem may have started after the latest update, but I don't recall.  (I don't recall if the problem w/ the first dock occurred prior to the update or after.)  When I place it on the docks, it gets power (starts charging) but won't play any audio.  It just plays music through the internal speaker.  It has worked on both for the past two years.  Any ideas?
Worst case, does anyone know how I can upload the OS version before the last update to see if that fixes it?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it seems like iOS 5 and/or 5.0.1 makes the docks form some manufacturer's incompatible. Have you checked the dock's support site? Only solution is to waid for a firmware update from either Apple or the dock manufacturer.

  • Docking station no longers support ipod touch

I bought my daughter the Philips DS1200/05 to work with her iPod Touch about 18 months ago - which until about a week ago has worked without problem. However, we can no longer play music without getting an error message "This Accessory is Not Supported by Ipod touch".
I've made sure that the ipod has the latest download. I've even reset it to factory settings. I've unplugged the sound dock and rebooted the ipod. I've removed the cover, cleaned the connectors with an electric toothbrush to make sure that there is no dust but it still doesn't work.
Curiously, the ipod touch works on our other speaker system (bose) without problem and our other ipod (one of the very first ones - not an ipod touch) work on the Philips sound dock.
    Can you help?
    Thanks,
    Claire

    Hi,
No - there were no changes. I only did the iOS update today to see if it helped. It didn't!
I've also written pretty much the same message on Philips site - but no news to date.
    Thanks for your interest.

No problem. It is an older monitor. But being a small business, we can't afford to discard a working monitor that costs $1500 to replace.
The annoying part is that we tried to do a lot of research prior to purchase to find out exactly what resolutions the Lenovo docking solutions supported. We asked our rep to check because of the total lack of Lenovo documenation on this. We would not have wasted all this time trying to get it to work if we had known.
Even now, no one from Lenovo has come right out and stated that their docking stations don't support Dual Link. I think that they actually have no idea.
We've been bounced around and around between the same Lenovo sales, support and customer service numbers so many times in the past three days that they are now just dropping our calls in the hope that we will go away. No one at Lenovo has offered a solution of any kind.
FYI, we've even been told that because we ordered the W540 through CDW that there is 'nothing Lenovo can do.'
