Docking station no longers support ipod touch

I bought my daughter the Philips DS1200/05 to work with her iPod Touch about 18 months ago - which until about a week ago has worked without problem. However, we can no longer play music without getting an error message "This Accessory is Not Supported by Ipod touch".
I've made sure that the ipod has the latest download. I've even reset it to factory settings. I've unplugged the sound dock and rebooted the ipod. I've removed the cover, cleaned the connectors with an electric toothbrush to make sure that there is no dust but it still doesn't work.
Curiously, the ipod touch works on our other speaker system (bose) without problem and our other ipod (one of the very first ones - not an ipod touch) work on the Philips sound dock.
Can you help?
Thanks,
Claire

Hi,
No - there were no changes. I only did the iOS update today to see if it helped. It didn't!
I've also written pretty much the same message on Philips site - but no news to date.
Thanks for your interest.

  • Why did my Bose Docking Station stop playing my iPod Touch?

Yesterday my iPods both Touch and the oldMy Bose Docking Station won't play my iPod Touch and the much older version with the click wheel both played when placed my my Bose Docking Station. Today neither one will play. Any ideas?

    - Try resetting the Bose dock
    - Inspect the dock connectors on the iPod and the dock for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset the Classic. I do not know how to do that.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • What docking station works with the ipod touch 4th generation?

What docking station is works with the ipod touch 4th generation?  We have a Bose docking station which I'm having trouble getting it to fit onto.

    Gal:
I'm not exactly clear what your question is.
How does the system you have been given not work with your iPod? What is the problem?
What is your point about the 4th generation adaptor? The "adaptor" is merely a physical piece of plastic that sits in the Docking Station's dock and creates the exact shape for your model of iPod to fit snugly into it. So a 1st or 2nd generation iPod would not benefit in any way from a 4th gen adaptor.
Are you trying to find a portable iPod Docking Station that works without mains power?
You said: " the customer service agent said it would make the iPod fit, but it wouldn't charge or play music." What is your point about charging the iPod? I don't understand what you are trying to say. I presume that the system you've been given does charge a 1st and 2nd gen iPod.
The product you linked to looks portable to me. So why does it not suit your needs, is this about using it out in the garden (my question 2)?
Less complicated in what way? What exactly are you finding complicated? Simply place the iPod into the Docking Station and (presumably) select the iPod input and press play.

Clean any debris from the adapter, docking station connector and the connector on the Nano.

  • APPLE DOCKING STATION NO LONGER WORKS WITH TOUCH 3G and 4G after ios 4.2.1

APPLE DOCKING STATION NO LONGER WORKS WITH TOUCH 3G and 4G after ios 4.2.1 update.
I have both of these touches. I updated both 3g and 4g to ios 4.2.1 and poof...no docking station support other than charging, no audio and no remote function. My av/cable works with the tv, and the headphone jack still outputs audio, just no auido through the Apple dock and hte remote is dead. I purchased the dock from the apple store last year and it was working with both ipod 3g and 4g grrrrr...
Is Apple now in the bug trade business?, trade one for another....
    Anyone else have this problem?

My iPod Touch 3G running 4.2.1 works fine with the Apple docking station.
Perhaps you have a loose cable somewhere and/or a dead battery in your controller?

  • Can u Listen to FM stations from the new ipod touch 5??

Can u Listen to FM stations from the new ipod touch 5 without internet??

Very well, indeed it's true according to information found on google search. The hardware capability for FM radio does exists in some models—the current iPod touch and iPhone 3GS have FM transmitters, and the 2nd-gen iPod touch also has a chip that's capable of receiving FM signals, though it uses it for Nike+ stuff (so if there is a radio app, maybe it'll just be for current-gen models). The third-generation, 32GB and 64GB iPod touch models have a Broadcom chip that supports FM transmitting, though no talk has emerged of implementing that technique.

For now, the only way to stream music offline(without the use of the Internet) is available on the rhapsody application. The version 2.0 of the Rhapsody application latest update, lets subscribers download their favorite Rhapsody playlists to their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad so they can listen anytime -- even when they're not connected to the Internet. However the Rhapsody music service t needs a $10 a month subscription in order to enjoy it's feature, it also has a free trial before you make any subscription payments.
    Good luck

    1) When I go to the apple.com website my computer will either be really slow or freeze my whole system down to where I have to reboot my computer again. This does not happen all the time but when it does operate it is molasses slow.
By any chance, are you uswing Kaspersky security software?
    If so, see:

Will iOS 7 support iPod Touch 4G?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
iOS 7 supports iPhone 4 or newer, iPad 2 or newer and the 5th generation iPod touch. The 4th generation iPod touch has got 256 MB of RAM, which make it unable to run iOS 7.

  • What docking stations work with the ipod mini gen 2?

Looking to get a docking station for my ipod mini gen 2.  Are there any out there that are known to work?

Well, I don't have any specific recommendations, since I've never used them myself.  There are so many choices, just make sure the specs say it works with your older iPod model.
If you get a "plain" dock (like that Universal Dock), or an older version (no remote control) for cheap on eBay, it's not just for connecting to computers.  It has a audio output jack (that gets a high quality line out signal from the iPod's dock connector).  You can connect that to your stereo system's auxilliary input, or to any powered speakers (the type people connect to computers).  For power, connect the docking cable to a USB power adapter instead of a computer's USB port.
And you can connect it to your computer too.  Plus, if the speakers go bad (or you want better ones), you don't have to throw the whole gadget away.  Just get new speakers, keep the dock.

  • Loose dock connector in 2nd gen iPod touch

My iPod touch (2nd gen) won't charge because the dock connector is loose. I have two connector plugs, both work fine with my iPod nano. But neither works with my iPod touch. The connection feels loose. When I examined the connector in the iPod touch none of the pins looked damaged but all were dirty and dark, in contrast to the clean, shiny pins in my new iPod nano. I tried spraying electronics cleaner into the connector but that didn't help. I tried wiggling the connector but that didn't help. Any other suggestions? Is it possible to take apart an iPod touch and replace the connector? I'm sure I could take it apart. Getting it back together would be the hard part.

The problem is back, I restarted my computer and that didn't help. Looks like its time to buy a new iPod.

  • I need some suggestions on what type of dock to buy for my iPod Touch 4 that would be combatable with it.

I use to have a JBL dock for my iPod Touch 4 but it no longer works with it.  I seem to be having some problems finding a dock that would work with a iPod Touch 4.   All I want is a good dock with stereo sound and that is chargable and would also have an adaptor so I won't have to use batteries but one with batteries will do if that's all I can find.  I don't need one that has a radio and a clock with it.  One that probably doesn't go over 100.00.  Would like some suggestions from anyone please?   Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I have finally found a definitive answer on the Microsoft website (after a few days of virtual digging).

And I quote for the benefit of everyone else looking for the same answers:
"While RDS is shipped with Windows Server software, it is licensed separately through a Client Access License (CAL) model. This means that each accessing end point (i.e., a User or a Device) must be covered by an RDS license to access Microsoft VDI infrastructure.
And this CAL is an additive CAL, which means that in addition to a Windows Server CAL, customers must acquire a Windows Server RDS CAL for each user or device that:
    - Directly or indirectly accesses any of the RDS product functionality, and/or
    - Directly or indirectly interacts with the graphical user interface of the server software using RDS functionality or other third-party technology
For example, to access RDS functionality in Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012 CALs and Windows Server 2012 RDS CALs are required along with the server software licenses."

  • Why did apple stop supporting iPod touch 4, Why did apple stop supporting iPod touch 4

I was really excited for iOS 7 to come out and then I couldn't get I on my iPod touch 4. The iOS 6.1.5 came out for it I thought the might make it for the 4. Does anybody know if they might recontinue it?

As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • What is included in the "iPod Universal Dock Adapter 3-Pack for iPod touch (4th generation)"?

What's in the box? Is it a small dock you can rest and charge your iPod on, or is it simply an adapter for the £50 Apple Universal Dock?
    Please reply I'm really confused!

It's only a few adapaters so your iPod can sit and rest properly on Apple's Universal dock.
