Docking Station With HDMI Out

According to HP customer service, they do not have an HDMI Out supported docking station for their laptops.  Does anyone have a working solution to this problem?  Does HP have plans to bring one to market?

get a laptop with HDMI out integrated to the system board or just settle for DVI out

  • Usb expansion dock station with arch

    Hi guys,
I'm the owner of a dell xps m1330 and i was wondering to buy the kingston exapsion dock station with the video out. It is connected to the laptop using a usb cable.
I know it works with winzozz obviously, but i don't know anything about its support with linux.
Is there any problem to transmit video out through usb to the dock and then to the external video lcd?
    thanks in advance

What kind of video card do you have?
Just from my Dell XPS m1530, I have a nvidia card and within "System >> Preferences >> NVIDIA Server Settings", I am able to plug in a VGA cable on the side and have it recognize it almost instantly. I know tried it on a projector but still, it that worked, I would say you should be ok with the monitor part.

  • Problem using docking station with ipod 5th generation

just bought an ipod touch, 5th generation, with the Lightening connector. Bought an Acoustic solutions docking station with the same small lightening connector but when I dock I can only charge the ipod and not play music through the docking station. Does anyone have same problems playing music with a 5th generation ipod that has the new small lightening connector?...I bumped into someone at Argos who said they are having the same problem not being able to play music from the new iphone 5 that has the lightening connector and even if you use a adaptor to make it 30 pin connector compatable it still doesnt work, any help will be appreciated, thanks

Does Acoustic Solutions say it will work with your model iPod and iOS 7.0.4?
Have you went to their support site?
    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Sometimes an iOS updates breaks compatibility and yo will have to wait for iOS update or an update to the dock's firmware.

  • Thunderbolt Docking Station with 2 Ports...

I'm new to the forums. Please forgive my noob status. I have a Belkin Thunderbolt docking station with 2 Thunderbolt ports (as well as a number of other useful connecting ports). My MacBook Pro has 2 of them also. If I connect my MacBook with TWO cables, one in each port, will this double (or at least increase) the transfer speed to and from my laptop, over and above the use of 1 TB Cable?
    Thanks!
    docrocker1

That dock is designed for one TB input from your Mac.  The other ports on the dock are for additional TB devices to be connected.  They are not made for parallel inputs.

I have a music docking station with an 8 pin connection.  My i-pod has a 30 pin connection.  Is there an adaptor available?

No. There are only Lightning to 30-pin adopters

  • Laptops in docking station with lid closed go to sleep during in-place migration from XP to Windows 7

We have an issue where existing XP laptops are targeted with SCCM 2012 OSD TS for upgrade to Windows 7.  The laptops are in a docking station, with the lid closed.  The laptops are going to sleep when the OSD is booted in WinPE, just before the
Setup Windows and Configmgr step.  I have copied powercfg.exe from a Windows 8.1 machine (both AMD64 and x86 versions) to the MDT Tool package...." and then a step to run:
    %DeployRoot%\Scripts\%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%\PowerCfg.exe -setacvalueindex 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e 4f971e89-eebd-4455-a8de-9e59040e7347 5ca83367-6e45-459f-a27b-476b1d01c936 0
However, the laptops are still sleeping during the Setup Windows and Configmgr step.   Any insight to correcting this will be extremely helpful.

    Hi
We came across this issue, seems odd that SCCM doesn't suspend the power management in the OS during the TS - (But then again it also seems odd that Windows 7 will go to sleep if you close the lid of a laptop half way through a shutdown, so that when you
lift the lid it wakes only to complete the shutdown, did MS not spot that, or choose to ignore it!?).
These commands should be run soon after the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr step and will disable the device and screen from sleep/hibernating:
Prevent sleep during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -standby-timeout-dc 0
Prevent sleep during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -standby-timeout-ac 0
Prevent monitor off during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -monitor-timeout-dc 0
Prevent monitor off during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -monitor-timeout-ac 0
Prevent hibernate during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -hibernate-timeout-dc 0
Prevent hibernate during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -hibernate-timeout-ac 0
At the end of the TS, you can revert these changes by running the following command to reset the power scheme:
    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
    Hope this helps
Thank you.  However, we did put similar steps in our Task Sequence right after the "Setup Windows and..." step, but the issue we are having is that the "Sleep" occurs during the "Setup Windows and...." so it never reaches
anything after that step until the lid is opened.

  • Can I connect my iPhone 3GS to a docking station with a lightening connection

I have a docking station with a lightening connection, can I attach my iPhone 3GS to it?

    No.

  • I want to buy a dock station with speakers and radio wich can support my ipad2 (30 pin connector) and also my iphone 5 (lightning)

I want to buy a dock station with speakers and radio wich can support my ipad2 (30 pin connector) and also my iphone 5 (lightning). I would be glad to get your help.

If you get the 30 pin dock get an Apple genuine adapter the rip-offs often do not work correctly
If you buy a lightning dock a company called Sandberg makes the reverse adapter ,I have one and it works correctly
As tonefox said i got the sandberg from Amazon

  • T60 w/ Docking Station DVI - HDMI 1080p problems.

    Hi,
Im currently running vista 32bit on a T60 with a docking station trying to externally display to a 1920x1080 LCD via the DVI port on the back of the docking station to the HDMI port on the LCD (Samsung N series 40").
The problem im having is when i set the resolution to 1920x1080 the output on the LCD is not crisp and there is a 1" black border around the whole screen.  If you lower the resolution right down to 1024x 7xx (cant remember exactly what it is) it fills the screen and is crisp., but everything is just mega big..
I have the latest video drivers off the lenovo support page.
I also have a T43 running vista and it displays 1920x1080 via the DVI port on the docking station fine.
Has anybody seen this before and have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks, Cam

  • Reconnecting to dock station with new T530 creates random colored pixels.

Anyone with a T530 that uses the OFFICIAL and real dockstation have issues with random green and pink pixels on their external monitors when they reattach?.
My T530 has the Nvidia optimus 5400 and the HD4000 Intel chipset which apparnently go back and forth between eachother using the BIOS to save power. I was getting REALLY pissed of with the the Intel HD4000 constantly adjusting the brigthness on my screen so I disabled it and went to discrete Nvidia graphics instead and to hell with the power savings.
Anyone else seen issues with video anamolies with the docktation? If I disconnect the DVI cable and reconnect, it goes away. Do I have a bad dock or laptop?

I experience this as well with my T510 on two different docking stations.
I've simply put up with it for for a few years. Tweaking some display settings helped slightly mitigate the issue.
However, my new dock is a Mini Dock Plus, with dual outputs, which allows me some additional testing possibilities. I've been able to confirm that it is a specific cable/display that is causing the issue, not a specific port on the laptop. Furthermore, dropping the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1680x1050 caused the dots to dissapear completely.
The odd part is that I can't seem to reproduce the issue with another device connected to the same cable/display.
    My remaining troubleshooting steps are:
    * swap out the cable with an alternate (my alternate DVI cable has ferrite cores on each end).
    * If this resolves the issue, I'll add my KVM back in the mix, but not use the apparently bad KVM DVI cables. If it doesn't, then I might have to ditch the KVM, and use input switching on my monitor :/
My specs (but to be honest, my googling has turned up similar issues with older thinkpads and ATI graphics, so I don't think it is exactly dependant on the laptop):
    * T510
    * Nvidia NVS 3100M (with 'nvidia' driver).
    * Mini Dock & Mini Dock Plus w/ USB3.0
    * Fedora 19

  • 6th gen ipod nano works in docking station but not out of it

My ipod nanoworks in the docking station and connects to the PC but when i remove it from a power source the screen is blank. Any ideas?

So the iPod only powers on when connected to an external power source such as a USB port on your PC or Mac, a docking station, or when connected to a wall charger?  If so, that is a very good indication that your iPod's battery is shot and in need of replacement.
Apple can swap it out for a flat fee or you can send it to a third party repair service for a bit less. Here is Apple's pricing: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/

  • Undocking a T42P from a 2877 docking station with an ultrabay 2000 HDD???

I have just added a disk drive in the ultrabay 2000 slot of my 2877 docking station that I use to hold my backups.  I can no longer use the "Undock" function because the device is in use by an active program - I assume the operating system or Windows Explorer.  My PC is a ThinkPad T42p running XP at the SP2 level.  Is there any way short of shutting down the PC to flush all of the cache to the 2nd HDD and be able to safely undock the laptop from the docking station?
    Thanks,
    scott

Thanks for the reply, Huffer. I was plugging it into one of the 3.0 ports. I just tried the 2.0 port. Disk Management successfully loaded, and presented me with an "Initialize Disk" window (I hit "Cancel"). It showed that HDD as "Not initialized" and having no partitions (all space unallocated). No new drives appeared in Computer.
The drive behaved fine when used with my old laptop (the issue with that laptop is a power supply issue, not a drive issue). I don't have another working computer to try it in, nor do I have another drive to try in the docking station.
I assume that I should not initialize it, as that may make my data more difficult to recover, correct? Is problem likely my laptop, the docking station, the drive, or an incompatibility issue? What utility might I be able to use to see this partition and copy my data over?

  • Are any radio/alarm clock docking stations with a lightning connector coming out soon?

I've had the iPhone 5 for a while now, and I've been waiting for a product like the iHome to come out with the lightning connector.  However, I haven't heard or seen any news about this.  Is anybody aware of any products coming out?

iHome already makes docks that support the Lightning connector:

I have a Ipod Touch 5G and a Ipad 4th Gen with a Bose sound dock with a 30 pin adapter.  I have tried several connectors but cannot get any audio on the sound dock.  Do you have any suggestions?

Have you tried this adapter from the Apple on-line store http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=3c  They also have one that uses a cord to connect the dock to lightning that is $10 more.
