No problem. It is an older monitor. But being a small business, we can't afford to discard a working monitor that costs $1500 to replace.
The annoying part is that we tried to do a lot of research prior to purchase to find out exactly what resolutions the Lenovo docking solutions supported. We asked our rep to check because of the total lack of Lenovo documenation on this. We would not have wasted all this time trying to get it to work if we had known.
Even now, no one from Lenovo has come right out and stated that their docking stations don't support Dual Link. I think that they actually have no idea.
We've been bounced around and around between the same Lenovo sales, support and customer service numbers so many times in the past three days that they are now just dropping our calls in the hope that we will go away. No one at Lenovo has offered a solution of any kind.
FYI, we've even been told that because we ordered the W540 through CDW that there is 'nothing Lenovo can do.'

The question is, what do you currently have? If a system for the older 30-pin dock connector, you will need a converter for the 30-pin dock to Lighning connector. See the Apple store for the adapter.

Songs pausing for a few seconds when using speaker docking system

Got a Logitech AudioStation speaker docking system. Every 3 or 4 songs played seems to pause for up to 5 seconds then continues playing normally. The pause icon doesn't appear on the ipod, just the play icon. The countdown timer pauses though. Also skipping songs with remote control a problem. Sometimes skips two with one press. Also takes a few seconds to 'think' between songs. ipod also defaults to shuffle album every time it's docked. Anyone else experienced these problems? Is it docking system or ipod?

HP Elitebook 2740P Overheating.

I am not 100% sure if this is the right place to post this. If it isn't feel free to link me to the right spot.
Recently my computer began overheating.. It only happens (so far) when I am using Flash and Microsoft Security Essentials (doing a full scan)
So far we have replaced the Power Supply.. System Board/CPU twice.. The Heatsink/fan.. And today I replaced the Hard Drive and installed the OS fresh. I really doubt the RAM would be causing this.. so I really don't know what else to try. I was thinking it could be a virus until I replaced the Hard Drive and it still crashed.
Any ideas?

Hello rld73. What leads you to believe that overheating is the issue? This seems unlikely due to you having changed many of the parts inside the notebook. This means you would've cleared out any debris inside the notebook and you also replaced the cooling system. What symptoms are you experiencing?
You've also already replaced the hard drive so that can be ruled out. However, memory problems can cause similar issues (computer randomly shutting down especially). So, testing the memory is likely the best place to begin. Follow this document to test the memory and post the result.

HP EliteBook 2740p Tablet PC Windows 8.1 Webcam not working

I have a problem getting the webcam working on Windows 8.1.
I have installed the latest versions of the webcam software and Youcam software. In youcam I can select the HP Webcam [2 MP Macro] as only driver. Youcam starts alright, but there is no video.
In the device manager all seems alright as well, no issues and the webcam is listed.
Can anyone help me out here? Is this a Windows 8.1 thing or do I need to install another driver?

Looking for competent docking station for iPhone 3GS

I'm having a terrible time finding a good docking station for my new iPhone 3GS. Before I bought it I used a 5th generation iPod 60GB. I have a belkin usb hub/dock for it that works great. When my computer is off it charges the iPod, and it's a powered usb hub as well. Occasionally I would plug in an AV cable to watch content I purchased from iTunes on my TV.
I'm now trying to find a dock with equivalent or better abilities for the iPhone 3GS, and I'm coming up empty. Here's what I need in order of importance:
1. *Plug into AC and charge iPhone when Mac is off, while still being connected via USB so that it will sync automatically when Mac is on.*
2. Pass through dock connector to another dock connector on back so that I can connect Apple composite cables to TV, via the dock.
3. Powered USB hub with 2 or more usb ports.
4. A media card reader would be a really nice plus and make it perfect.
The closest I've found is the Griffin Simplifi, however the FAQ for it on their website states this:
"Will the Simplifi charge my iPod or iPhone while my computer's powered off or asleep?
Even though the Simplifi has its own power supply, your iPod or iPhone requires an active USB connection to charge. This means that the Simplifi will not charge your device if your computer is powered off or asleep."
I'm pretty sure their explanation is technically inaccurate, and simply a way of trying to shift the blame for their stupidity on to Apple. Nevertheless it makes this dock utterly useless (see item 1 above).
Is there any way to accomplish what I need, or is it hopeless?

Costco was, and may still be selling, the iHome Model iD95.... I think this model is only carried by Costco. Other retailers such as Amazon.com sell the iHome iD83 App-Enhanced 30-pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Alarm Clock Speaker Dock. See the description of this model at Amazon.com. Both my model and the one on Amazon.com are described as a HOME SYSTEM for your iPad. It has a dock on the top of the AM-FM Radio which will accommodate either an iPad, iPod or iPhone (up to model 4s). If you have an iPhone5 or newest iPad, you can get a "30 pin to lightning" adapter to accommodate. I just got an iPhone 5, and ordered the "30 pin to Lightning" adapter, so that I can once again use my iPhone on the dock. It has 2 alarms, and numerous other features, including a battery backup, digital display, it charges your iPad/iPod/iPhone, and it has pretty darn good stereo speakers. It's easy to adjust the base and treble. Price when I bought it in September, was $79.95 and there was a $20 coupon. It is easy to program music or Pandora from an iPhone/iPod/iPad, and can even program for music or Pandora before going to sleep and shuts itself off at a specified time, and then can turn on the radio or an alarm, or music or Pandora at a specified time in the morning. I'm happy with it.

Universal dock adapter for iPod classic

I am having problems obtaining a MA125G/B Universal Dock Adapter for my 160Gm iPod Classic. Now that all my music library is on the iPod, I am changing the "docks" from my car to my SUV to my home stereo system to a chargeable portable SONY docking station. I have only the one dock adapter #9 which came with the iPod. I live in Canada, and have had my Apple store try to locate a few additional adapters for me, but without success. I see that I can order one on line from Amazon.com, but when I go to purchase it, I am told that it can only be shipped within the US. Is there any retailer out there in Canada from whom I could purchase two or three of these universal adapters?

Actually, I'm not really replying to myself. I just want to confirm that the MA125 G/B universal dock adapter which I found on Amazon.com will be compatible with my 160GB iPod Classic? There is no picture shown with the adapter,and it says it is for an iPod Video 30GB. Is this adapter the one which has the number "9" stamped underneath the lip? I own a Zen Vison: M and am wanting a speaker system for my player

I know there aren't any docking speaker systems for them yet, and I honestly doubt there will be any real soon.
So what would be the best way to go?

I had a Toshiba Gigabeat S30 first but the battery was horrid (seems to be very close to the Zune in design and features etc)?then I swapped for an 80GB Ipod video but there is a massi've problem with the EQ settings wanting to clip passed the digital headroom (google "ipod distortion")?Got The Creative Zen Vision M and I can say the following so far:?The sound output is strong and powers my $200 Sony in ear headphones with clean power even with bass all the way up. It's got a custom 5 band graphic EQ which works well to customise the sound to how you want it (I hate the standard MP3 EQ options of most players)?The sound quality is Very Very Good. (I'm a Hi-Fi freak and a competent home recording engineer)?I can see the screen easily even on a hot bright sunny day outdoors on 50% brightness (Very useful)?I have a couple of MP3's that were converted from WMA's and on some players they dont play but the Creative plays them fine. The use interface is easy to navigate but not quite as good as the Toshiba Gigabeat but looks nicer. The FM radio is great sounding aswell which is a bonus and you can custom name the stations. You can set photos as wallpaper and it comes with 6 player skins to customise the look. Battery seems pretty good. when its not locked the screen goes dimmer instead of turning off completely but the battery still seems to last ok. I just bought a Sony home docking system, it has a iPhone and iPod dock. I thought I could use my ipad2 and USB cord and play my I tunes off it. But it does not support iPad. So my question is are there any other ideas I could try. Thanks

If you need to show a web page during your presentations you should give Expedition-The VGA out browser for iPad a try. It lets you show a web browser on the projector screen and can even play HTML5 video on a page on the projector. Also has a laser pointer feature just like keynote.

Can the i pod Nano 7th Generation be connected to a Bose docking system? Or is there some other docking system that can be used? I need to play my i-pod Nano over a loudspeaker system of some kind.

In order to connect the 7G Nano with older accessories, you'll need the Lightning to 30-pin adapter.

As for a clip, you'll have to wait and see if any third party manufacturer's release a case/cover/sleeve that includes a clip.

Using Windows 8.1 on Elitebook 2740p

I recently bought a refurbished Elitebook 2740p and it's great. I have installed Windows 8.1 because Windows 7 didn't seem to have anything going for it.
But then I went to download drivers from HP website so that I can use MULTI-TOUCH!!
Windows 8.1 does not appear to be supported in the Elitebook 2740p Drivers page...
Please Help! I would like to start using touch but currently I need to use the Stylus which is kinda lame and doesn't allow me to scroll or zoom

I believe the development on this notebook has been stopped that is why there are no drivers available for the unit.
In other words the unit is now obsolete and was never intended to be used with windows 8.
However, you can always log a ticked with HP support in your country and chek if they can help
