Docs for migration

Hi,
i need real Documents for migration.
pls, provide the links & metalink ids by which i can do migration from O/S TO O/S of both Apps & DB.
early response will be appreciated.
regards,
charan

If you are on 10g, you can use data pump to speed the database portion of the migration. The first link is for the apps tier, the 3 below depend on your database release. If you are not migrating to a Unix platform (i.e. Windows), you need to rapid install the apps tier on the new O/S, and apply all patches you have applied to the source instance.

  • Can I migrate from WCS 7.0 to PI 1.2. If so, what are the guidelines for migration?

Can I migrate from WCS 7.0 to PI 1.2. If so, what are the guidelines for migration? Do we have any Instructions/steps?

Migration from WCS 7.0 to PI 1.2 can be  performed. If the customer wants to migrate data you need to first upgrade to  NCS 1.1.1  You can download NCS 1.1.1 from Cisco.com if you have a valid service  contract.
For the migration step involving NCS an evaluation license is  sufficient.  You can obtain an NCS evaluation license from http://www.cisco.com/go/license >  Get Demo > Network Mgmt Products > Cisco Prime NCS Evaluation License.
Instructions for migrating data from WCS 7.0 to NCS 1.1.1 are available in  NCS 1.1.1 Release Notes.  Do not upgrade to NCS 1.1.2 as this release is not  upgradeable to Prime Infrastructure 1.2.  If you are ordering a Cisco Prime  physical appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9) be sure to select the NCS 1.1 image which  you can later upgrade to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 after you have migrated your  WCS data.
There is a post in the support forum which can be refered.

  • Transportable tablespaces for migration and upgrade

    Hello All,
I'm trying to find out some theory about transportable tablespace and upgrade in a single step. I've to move a DB from a Windows server to a Linux server. Win is running 10.1 and Linux 10.2 . It's possible to use RMAN to migrate the whole database and then on new node run startup upgrade and catupgrd.sql to upgrade catalog ?
    Should work?
    Thanks
    Raj

The following doc for TDB says :-
"Note: TDB requires the same Oracle Database software version on the source and target systems; hence, a database upgrade cannot be accomplished simultaneous with the platform migration. However, best practices for a database upgrade, as documented in the Oracle Upgrade Companion, also apply to any planned database maintenance activity, including platform migration."
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/pdf/MAA_WP_10gR2_PlatformMigrationTDB.pdf
There is also an Oracle Whitepaper called "Database Upgrade Using Transportable Tablespaces: Oracle Database 11g Release 1" but I am still trying to find a copy.

  • Is there any way to launch Shared Services in command prompt for migration?

    Hi All,
We are on 11.1.1.1.3 Is there any way to launch Shared Services in command prompt for migration purposes? The purpose is we need to automate the migration process from Dev to Prod. Currently we are exporting artifacts by using LCM in shared service by file management and then exporting that folder to prod server and then importing by using LCM. So we need to automate the whole process.
So is there any way we can launch shared services/LCM in command prompt to launch the migration for export/import artifacts?
Any suggestions will be great help.

Did you see the bit in the documentation called "Creating Migration Definitions"?
    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_lifecycle_management/ch06s03s01.htm
Also, if you follow this link, the docs explain how to (sort of) generate the xml:

  • Any Java API doc for PJC

    Hi,
I 've seen someone has asked about API doc for PJC (Pluggable java components) and there is no response on this matter.
Can someone from Oracle give us some hints on this?
Is this PJC still support in future version, it seems this will be phase out soon as the resource available for this components are so limited and it is discouraging people to use.
But how are people able to progressively migrate traditional form to J2ee without some transitional products to support such migration?
    Regards,
    ana

    Hi,
PJCs will stay, same for Java Importer. You are right that we didn't publish any Javadocs until yet. I'll takle this one up to again suggest to the developers. Only the minority of classes though are Forms classes, the rest are UI classes with consume from an internal group.Just to be clear, PJCs, JavaBeans and Java in Forms will not phase out.
Note also that PJCs don't help you to migrate Forms to J2EE, they help you to use Java in Forms.

  • Docs for RAW fine tuning?

Anyone see any docs for the new RAW Fine Tuning feature? This seems very nice, but I'm not sure I understand what it's doing and when. What's Color Boost? What's Chroma Blur? When are these settings applied? IF I change the setting once does it change for all images that use the same setting?
There's nothing in the 400 page user guide about it.
    Thanks,
    Allan

Look it up in the next help topic, "Performing Image Adjustments". It's got a hole chapter on Raw Fine Tuning.
Basically, "Boost" is increased contrast up to a measure Apple thinks right for your camera. Works quite well. Chroma Blur gets rid of colour based noise (spots of the wrong colour, e.g. green spots on skin, which is typlical for digital sensors).
The settings are applied after you've migrated your Raw files to Raw decoder 1.1 which you can do by right-clicking on the image and then selecting "Migrate Image". (you can also select all of your images and do the same thing via Aperture's menu... which saves a lot of time).
You can change any of these settings and save it under a new name.
    Enjoy and
    Cheers,
    Karl

  • Canceling a billing doc for which accounting doc not yet generated

    Hello,
I have strange issue in canceling billing doc. What happened user created Intercompany billing doc IV against a delivery and accounting doc also released to FI. After that he found that value in that IV doc is not correct so he went and cancelled that doc IV and he created internal credit memo IG .But for this IG the accounting doc not generated due to FI period closing. Because the IV is created in the month of Oct and IG is created in the month of Nov'07.Due to this issue Accounting document not generated for this IG doc.
But unfortunately by mistake he went cancelled the IG doc and it created IV again. Now what happened both IG and new IV created are showing in cancelled status. This is because if we cancel a billing doc for which accounting doc not created, then both doc will turning into cancelled status in doc flow. This is confirmed similar situation in my quality box and confirmed.
Now can anybody come across this kind of issue and tell me what is the best approach to handle this kind of situation.
    Thanks
    Mathi

    Hi Nina
As you are doing Delivery and then billing  with the service item category ZTAD , so go to VOV7 and check wheather the Billing Relevance ( Delivery related billing ) has been maintained or not .
Also check wheather in VTLA & VTFL copy controls  ,  ZTAD item category has been maintained or not

  • EMIGALL performance for migration object OBJCLASS

    Hi all,
my previous question, was Classification of IFLOT & EQUI via CLB2 / CLB1  & was focused on improving performance of classification of IFLOT & EQUI objects.
Testing EMIGALL for migration object OBJCLASS I am seeing no performance gains between a single thread update & parallel update threads.  IE the single thread throughput is reported as ~the same as the parallel threads throughput combined.
    I note in the job logs of my various tests;
for a single thread, that no messages are logged between the start & end of the migration.
for parallel threads, that message C4 200 'Class "CLASSNAMEHERE" is locked' appearing many times.
I don't see any unexpected migration errors in ether case.
Are there any insights on how I might improve over all throughput using this method? I cant see any control parameters for this object, nor does the Guideline have much information on OBJCLASS.
    First world problems :-/

    Hello Daniel,
Without having much insight into your system and infrastructure details or the volume that you are working with, I suggest for you to try below for performance improvement.
    1. Run DB Statistics on functional location and Equipment related tables such as EQUI, IFLOT, ILOA, etc. (these are HLO objects that you are updating by way of classification). Also update classification table such as AUSP. These tables mentioned here as a starting point.
    2. Also strongly suggest that a performance trace be done on this job to analyze and identify another table or steps that may be a performance bottleneck and maybe a candidate for DB statistics refresh Or some other corrective action.
    3. The locks maybe occurring due to a mass update which is as expected. Perhaps to get by that you may want to use "commit buffering allowed" option for this migration object and set to say a number "10" or "20" to start with and see if it helps better the performance. As you would have noticed, locks will also impact performance.
    4. Please also refer to Cookbook for ISUMIG Performance and refer to sections for DEVICE, CONNOBJ and DEVLOC. These are HLO objects for classification and there may be some useful insight in that document too.
    Hope this helps.

  • Best practice for migrating IDOCs?

Subject: Best practice for migrating IDOC's?
    Hi,
I need to migrate some IDOC's to another system for 'historical reference'.
However, I don't want to move them using the regular setup as I don't want the inbound processing to be triggered.
The data that was created in the original system by the processed IDOC's will be migrated to the new system using migration workbench. I only need to migrate the IDOC's as-is due to legal requirements.
What is the best way to do this? I can see three solutions:
    A) Download IDOC table contents to a local file and upload them in the new system. Quick and dirty approach, but it might also be a bit risky.
    B) Use LSMW. However, I'm not sure whether this is feasible for IDOC's.
    C) Using ALE and setting up a custom partner profile where inbound processing only writes the IDOC's to the database. Send the IDOC's from legacy to the new system. Using standard functionality in this way seems to me to be the best solution, but I need to make sure that the IDOC's once migration will get the same status as they had in the old system.
    Any help/input will be appreciated
    Regards
    Karl Johan
PS. For anyone interested in the business case: Within EU the utility market was deregulated a few years ago, so that any customer can buy electricity from any supplier. When a customer switches supplier this is handled via EDI, in SAP using ALE and IDOC's. I'm working on a merger between two utility companies and for legal reasons we need to move the IDOC's. Any other data is migrated using migration workbench for IS-U.

    Hi Daniele
I am not entirely sure, what you are asking, Please could you provide additional information.
Are you looking for best practice recommendations for Governance, for example: Change transports between DEV, QA and PRD in BPC 7.0?
What is the best method? Server Manager backup and restore, etc  ?
    And
Best Practice recommendations on how to upgrade to a different version of BPC, for example: Upgrading from BPC 7.0 to 7.5 or 10.0 ?
    Kind Regards
    Daniel

  • Best Practice for Migration of BO  from one server to another

    Hi All,
I would like to know what is the Best pratice for Migration of BO from One server to another.
i have Installed BO Xi R2 on my server.
    Thanks,
    Anendu Bothra
Edited by: Anendu Bothra on Mar 5, 2009 10:24 AM

You need to copy your input and output file stores from the old server to the new server. By default these are located in the <Business Objects install path>\FileStore directory.
Then you need to stop the CMS, Right click the CMS,Click the Configuration tab, and then click Specify.
    Choose Copy, then click OK.
Choose the version information for the source CMS database.
Select the database type for the source CMS database, and then specify
its database information (including host name, user name, and password).
Select the database type for the destination CMS database, and then
specify its database information (including host name, user name, and
    password).
When the CMS database has finished copying, click OK.
Once this process has been completed start the CMS and click on update objects -> located on the top of the CCM.
I'd advise taking full backups beforehand.

We will use Metalogix tool for Migration. However we want to know which custom changes site Have , SO those WSP we can deployed on 2013, So that Site will work fine After Migration.
SO question is there is any way where I can find what customization site have ?
I want poweshell which will tell me these WSP have deployed on this Sitecollection , SO that only those I will deploy on 2013 ? ALso
Suppose I have created Workflows through designer , is there any powershell which will tell me these workflow have deployed on particular site, so that I can check is those Migrated successfully or not.
