Docs on configuring Collaboration Cluster

Hi folks,
I've been trying to set up a simple Collaboration Cluster to perform a simple test.

I followed the only 10.3 documentation above but failed to set it up (I just enabled cluster in config.xml and left cluster.xml untouched, I thought it by default used multi-casting).
I don't know how to set up the Portal for Collaboration Clustering (The portal provides load balancing through mapping one domain name to multiple IP addresses. A single domain name that contains the IP addresses of each Oracle WebCenter Collaboration server to be clustered must be provided. Use this name as the portlet remote server name as per the docs, BUT HOW? No docs on this).
I have tried searching the knowledge base but no luck.

This error typically caused the storage issue, but I am not familiar with Amazon cloud, as David mentioned the failover cluster need the shared storage, please confirm with
Amazon, ensure their SAN is compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2. Ensure the virtual storage drivers, firmware and software is compatible with Failover Clustering.
 The storage must support SCSI Primary Commands-3 (SPC-3). In particular, the storage must support Persistent Reservations as specified in the SPC-3 standard.
The miniport driver used for the storage must work with the Microsoft Storport storage driver.
Storage should be isolated to a cluster in that a LUN provided to a cluster must not be accessible from another cluster through zoning and masking. If you can have a SAN dedicated
for a cluster that would be even better.

    If you want to check the Manual posting blocks you can configure them through FI/CO. Once you have configured the blocks with reasons it will automatically block for the payments.
    goto        SPRO-> Financial accounting->Account receivable & Payable ->Business Transactions-> Out going Payments-> Manual outgoing Payments-> Check payment block reason.

    Error appear to me as following:
    Could not start cluster stack error.This must be resolved before any OCFS2 filesystem can be mounted.

    My issue solved now . . .
    Really , it is strange.
    Once , i added /sbin in .bash_profile under ~ Directory as following . . .
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$ORA_CRS_HOME/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin
    Then log out then back again.
    After this change , i able to run ocfs2console successfully.

  • Programmatic deployment of osb configuration to cluster.

    Hi,
    Could you please help me to solve a deployment issue?
    The osb deployment environment is having an admin server and a cluster with 2 managed servers.
    I would like to deploy osb configuration jars to the cluster by programtic way using the scripts like given in the osb docs.
    The sample scripts given in the osb using admin server and port. If i deploy the osb configurations with admin host and port , will they deployed to the cluster? Or i have to specifically say to deploy in the cluster? If yes , how can i mention in the script, to deploy to the script?
    In one of the OSB video , its said if we use osb console, by default configurations will be deployed to cluster if there is cluster setup. But nothing mentioned about programmatic deployment. Could some one help me. Thanks.

  • Configure Solaris cluster to failover guest domain when NICs were down

    Hi,
    I am running Solaris 11 as the control domains on 2 clustered nodes running on Solaris Cluster 4. There is a Solaris 10 guest domain which is managed via the Solaris cluster in failover mode.
    2 virtual switches connected to 2 different network switches are presented to the guest domain. I would like to use link based IPMP to facilitate HA for the network connections. I understand that in this case the IPMP can only be configured within the guest domain. Now the question is how do I configure it in such a way that the guest domain fails over to the second cluster node (standby control domain) if both network interfaces are down? Thanks.

  • How to configure multiple cluster on multiple jvm

    Hello all,
    I have 15 caches and 6 servers with 8 processors each.
    I wish to split the 7 Caches on 3 servers as first cluster and remainig 8 caches on 3 servers as second clsuter.
    Can somebosy please provide the sample configuration.

    Hi Gary,
    clusters are separated from each other by their multicast cluster address and cluster port.
    Just choose two clusteraddress-port pairs in which both the ports and the cluster addresses are different (different ports are necessary, I believe, because you want to have multiple clusters on the same machine).
    You can specify the cluster address to the JVM with the Java property -Dtangosol.coherence.clusteraddress=... and you can specify the port with -Dtangosol.coherence.clusterport=....
    Specify the appropriate address and port to all the JVMs according to which cluster you want the JVM to be a member of.
    Alternatively you can specify an override file containing this information (you can read more about this on the wiki or in the users guide in the zip file (which is an export of the wiki).

    We have  installed PI in cluster of microsoft 2003 and one application server with  this configuration, sometimes presents  problem with interfaces with status http_status_not_ok and with the load of the interfaces is slow.
    We tested a system with cofiguration standalone and the performance is better and the errors is not presented.
    We have thought change the configuration of my system PI to standalone and  having two servers PI productive with balanced of load.
    The two servers  will have all interfaces, but not all active, in case of failure of server , in the other server is activated the interfaces.
    We investigated with other companies that have a PI and the comment is that your PI is standalone.

  • Configuring Failover Cluster Server Share as a Distribution Point

    Hello and thanks for this helpful forum!
    I am trying to configure a server share as a Distribution Point and am running into problems.  I am running SCCM R2 on Server 2008.  I am trying to use a clustered share coming from 2008 R2 Failover Cluster.
    I have been trying to get this working for the better part of 2 days now, and I have successfully created a Distribution Point to another 2008 Server (non-R2) by simply using the site system (not the server share).
    When I try to use the server share option, I keep receiving an error with Message ID 4701 stating that the SMS Site System Status Summarizer cannot access storage object

    The operating system reported error 2147942467: The network name cannot be found.
    The server share is defined as a site system as
    \\servername\sharename$
    I am trying to create a "Packages" directory under it, so I'm using the option "Share the distribution folder" under the Data Access tab of the Package.
    In addition, I have given local admin rights to the site server on both nodes of the cluster.  I have given the site server modify rights to the share and NTFS permissions.  I have given Authenticated Users Read access to the share and NTFS.
    As I mentioned, I can take another server and define a Site System as a DP and everything will work properly.  I am still missing something though regarding using a Server Share.

    Yes, but that is NOT a failover file cluster. Is there a workaround? It seems silly to have to stand up an additional server for this. It also seems odd that the forthcoming version of SCCM would not have some support for failover clustering which was a HUGE

    I am planning to run a cluster of 2 app servers instead of currently a stand alone App server
    for BPEL processes. Is there a guide/tutorial about how to configure the app servers so that they run as a cluster?
    This guide show cover necessary adjustments in BPEL source code and in JDeveloper (deployment) as well.

    I am new to the collaboration stuff, i have standard collaboration requirement where the user has to create the room and chat with other employees.

    And i came to know that their is no option  system from PAR option in portal 7.3, after some seraching i found the below link

    Can any provide me the correct hardware and software configurations required for two node cluster for acheiving failover.
    We have A1000 hardware configured with Raid 5. Does this suit our requirement.
    I want some clarifications on
    1) Configuring the solaris volume manager for creating diskset. or registering disk group. Since this requires state database replicas, these should be created on local disks or shared disk.
    2) creating cluster file system. What is the diffrernce between global namespace and cluster file system.

    Both nodes should need at least have
    - 4 network Interfaces,
    --- 2 for the Public Interface
    --- 2 for the Interconnects (each a dedicated cable or VLan!)
    - 2 Disk to mirror the Operating System
    - Some shared storage (i have no experience with the A1000 we use SAN, but i guess it should be ok)
    - Configure LVM to have its metadbs on both Disks for the metaset 0 (the mirrored root disk), set the mirrored_root_flag in /etc/system
    - LVM takes itself care of the metadbs for the disk sets, they are placed on slice 7 of the member (shared) disks
    global name space means you have a unic identifier (DID) for each disk, cd and tape device in the cluster. This avoids problems like a SAN disk connected to controller 3 on one node and controller 5 on the other one.
    global devices provide simultaneous access to all storage devices from all nodes, regardless where the storage is physically attached.
    the global file system makes file systems simultaneously available on all nodes, regardless of their physical location

    Hi Michal,
       You can go to the PCD and open the Collaboration Demo Role.
    It should be in "content provided by SAP" folder. There you can open the
    required page and remove the quick launch from the dynamic navigation.
    But it is always advisable not to change SAP provided content.
    Instead try to copy the role to your own namespace and try to modify it.

  • Problem in configuring collaboration rooms.

    Hi Experts,
    I have a problem with configuration of collaboration rooms. I took the standard iview of room creation wizard. After the room is created we get a message xxx room is created and a link Enter room.
    When we click the link of Enter room , we will be able to enter the room with the left hand side showing Detailed Navigation, My Rooms, Related rooms, Members list etc.,
    But in my case i am getting all errors in that place. also the main view of next meeting iview is also not there.   The below is the error::::::
    Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :

  • Bridging Framemaker and Google Docs for team collaboration

    Hello all,
    Our company uses Google docs extensively for all types of documentation.
    As the technical writer, I am the odd one out. Now, management tasked me with finding a way to bridge Framemaker [draft] content with Google docs. The reason is to provide the Engineers with a way to review and edit documents on a OS agnostic (and commonly used) platform.
    Unfortunately, Google docs isn't making this the least bit easy! In particular, Google docs severely limits PDF to gdocs conversion to about 10 pages. Even using Acrobat's Split Document tool (and then splitting the document into many smaller parts), I am still missing many pages!
    This has become a huge dilemma!
    Any ideas are appreciated.
