Docs with prompts can schedule to WebI, not Excel, pdf or CSV

I have built Custom Access levels but am having problems with scheduling.
I believe I have given the correct rights in the CAL, but even the standard "Schedule" access level gives this error:
Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Add objects to the folder' (ID: 1) for 'reportname' (ID: 86429). Please contact your administrator if you require this right.
This happens for Excel, PDF and CSV formats. WebIntelligence is fine.
I have checked half a dozen reports in different folders a number of times and results are the same.
- Users with Schedule rights can refresh reports to webi format
- Users with Schedule rights can refresh reports WITHOUT prompts to excel / pdf /csv
- Users with Schedule rights can NOT refresh reports WITH prompts to excel / pdf /csv
To get Excel, PDF and CSV files created, I have to give "Add objects to folder" access which allows users to save documents which is not wanted for this role.
It is also not a right granted in the standard "Schedule" role.
Have added user group with Full Control at root level over all applications and all other folder trees including Temporary Storage, no change.

  • Can't create WORD or EXCEL PDF?

Can't create WORD or EXCEL PDF's?
All Adobe updates are already installed.
I am running Adobe Professional 8
I am running Office Professional 2003
When opening WORD or EXCEL I get this error message:
    Microsoft Visual Basic
Compile error in hidden module: DistMon
A suggested solution was to go to:
    C:\Documents and Settings\IBM USER\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
    Then delete PDFMaker
The error message goes away but I cannot create a PDF Doc either, so that's no good.
When I click the create PDF button in EXCEL this is the ERROR Signature:
    AppName: excel.exe
    AppVer: 11.0.8307.0
    AppStamp: 49ee85df
    ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0
    ModStamp: 00000000
    fDebug: 0
    Offset: 00000000
Also, when I click on send error report, it never finishes.
If I open Adobe Professional 8 and click on create PDF, then select a file,
the error message I get is:
    Missing PDFMaker files.
Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?
If I click yes, it takes forever and nothing happens.
    Suggestions?

I got this message when trying to use Excel 2003. I went to Microsoft's web site's community and entered the error message that you got. There was a solution offered that worked for me although I cannot remember now what it was. You might also try Microsoft's knowledge base for any possible answers for this problem. IMHO, I believe this is an Office 2003 problem and not an Acrobat problem.
I usually find the answers to problems such as these on Microsoft's web site. Good luck.

  • Prompt To Download File when not a pdf or doc

Different files are uploaded through one of my applications. The problem is when clients want to view the file, if its not a .pdf or .doc, .docx, its not rendered through the browser and throws an error.
Is there a way I could force a download prompt to save the file when the file extension is not a pdf or doc?
As of now they are viewing the file through <a class="note" href="#qry.drawing#" target="_blank">View</a>
    Thanks

Most probably reason the file is got corrupt due to virus. For this I would like to suggest you a third party tool which will help you to recover your corrupted PDF file data and it will export into a fresh PDF file. Tool Name:
    Recovery Toolbox for PDF.

  • How can I convert web page to PDF? When I upgraded to 4, it does not work.

Since I upgraded to firefox 4 I can not convert web page to PDF, before there was a place in the upper left corner that said convert to PDF. If there is not a way to do this in 4 then how can I go back to the old firefox. If I can't I guess I will just uninstall FireFox.

  • Can't convert web page to PDF in IE

Hi, I was using Window XP with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8. It's running pretty well. I just got a new PC with Window Vista Enterprise. When I installed the Adobe, I got problem asking for "AdobePDF.dll". Yes, I did hotfix #930627 and updated Adobe to 8.1.1 but there is still error. I can't convert the webpage to PDF in IE. I checked the plug-in in IE, all the PDF plug-ins are enabled. But if I clicked on the Adobe tool bar in IE, none of the menus responses. Same thing happens to the popup PDF menu.
    Can anybody help me out?
    Thanks.

copy the above link into a web page has the following information, so try one or all of the following. Its usually a config problem and the adobe support people were not very helpful in finding the answer, but hopefully the following will resolve the issue
PDFMaker icons are missing in Internet Explorer (Acrobat 6 and 7 on Windows)
    Issue
The PDFMaker icons are missing in Internet Explorer.
    Detail
You are using Acrobat 6 or 7 on Windows.
    Solutions
Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Unlock the Internet Explorer toolbar.
To determine if the toolbar is locked and unlock it if necessary:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Choose View > Toolbars:
-- If the Lock The Toolbars option is selected, then click Lock The Toolbars to clear the check mark.
-- If the Lock The Toolbars option is not selected, then the toolbars are already unlocked.
    3. Close Internet Explorer and then re-open it.
Solution 2: Set Internet Properties to enable third-party browser extensions.
    1. Close Internet Explorer.
    2. Open Acrobat and choose Edit > Preferences.
    3. Choose Internet from the list of categories on the left, and then click the Internet Settings button.
    4. In the Internet Settings window, click the Advanced tab.
    5. Under the Browsing section, select "Enable third-party browser extension (requires restart)" and Click OK.
    6. Start Internet Explorer.
Solution 3: Do a repair of Acrobat.
    1. Start Acrobat.
    2. Choose Help > Detect And Repair.
    3. When the repair process is complete, restart your computer.
Solution 4: Make sure PDFMaker for Internet Explorer is installed properly.
    1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click Add/Remove Programs (Windows 2000), or choose Start > Control Panel and double-click Add Or Remove Programs (Windows XP).
    2. Click Adobe Acrobat [version] and choose Change. You will enter the Acrobat Setup.
    3. Choose Modify from the Setup dialog box.
    4. Expand Create Adobe PDF.
    5. Click the Acrobat PDFMaker menu and choose "This feature, and all it's subfeatures, will be installed on local hard drive."
    6. Click Next, and then click Update.
Solution 5: Disable Firewall, Antivirus, or Internet Blocker software.
Certain protection programs prevent plug-ins from loading in Internet Explorer. Disable any such software and restart Internet Explorer.

  • I can't print web downloads, specifically pdf files, with Firefox.

I get an error message if I try and look at the page in print preview which says: " Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize. " I can print the same pages in Safari. The only remedy I can see so far is to abandon Firefox for any online transactions and move to Safari.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 4
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 5
Do as in Step 3 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • Problem with prompt for default in WEBI!

    Hello friends
I am new to BO and Webi And I have a problem with a report. It happens that I have created a query in SAP (with Query Designer) and I created the Universe (with Universe Designer). The query gets a cost center to filter the data, but when I run the report in InfoView I asked the cost center, it comes with a default. Is it a property that can be turned off in Webi or elsewhere?
I would be grateful if I can help.
    Regards

Is in the BEx query any default value selected for the cost centre?
Could you please mention here the where clause of the filter object for Cost Center in the universe ?

  • Lost mail, forwarded doc with attachment.  No record and not received

Using a message and attachment from an email in my files, created new message with updated info to send to CEO. Hit 'send' and heard normal rush sound. Later checked my sent file and no record. Called CEO exec asst not received. Tried again with a shorter message same result. Sent another message with an attachment to another exec, no problems. iPad problem or system?

    Not recipient.
I have both a Me and a Yahoo account.
When I forward a mail with an attachment using Yahoo account, it shows the sending bar, makes the sound that a mail was sent and even put the arrow icon on the left side of the original mail. But no mail is sent (recipient doesn't receive it and I don't get my blind copy).
This also happens when I send a mail from an app (notes, noterize, numbers, pages, etc.).
If in both cases I use my Me account, it works fine.
Using Yahoo account, forward without attachments, and reply works fine.
    Don't know what to do.

  • I use iMac desktop. I can't save web pages as PDF file by using Firefox, but by Safari is fine.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.4. Today, I tried to save my email content as a PDF file. However, I only got a PDF file that have partial content of email. Then I adjust the printer setting and did it again, then I only got a blank PDF file. There was nothing inside. Then I tried to save email as a PDF file by using Safari browser. And I got a complete and sucessful PDF file. I usually save web pages or web mail, online receipt as PDF file by use Firefox. But since I have updated to the new version, there were many problems with my Firefox. I tried to restore all my application and made Firefox in the old 3.6.3 version which I used to have no problem. But now still not working.

I solved it for myself: it was my HP smart-web printer crap that was a plug in and add on for firefox that somehow automatically got installed when I upgraded to 5. I disabled both in the add-ons manager, and voila, printing is working.
It seems there are many things, like this and the Google toolbar, that were screwed by the oddly fast update to 5. Looks like Mozilla didn't give anybody any notice! Must've been some really bad security hole.

  • IBooks - can't save bookmarks/notes in PDF files

Can some one of you tell me if you can save notes, bookmarks in PDF books imported in iBooks from iTunes?
Each time when I add a note in a PDF book it invites me to save is as a copy. I undestood that we must wait for other basic functionalities but not be able to save my work is a big bug.

The most feasible solution available for this problem is to have a reset on your iPad. It can be performed with the help of Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Press those buttons simultaneously and hold down for about 15 seconds. Remain in that position even when you see the red slider on the screen during this period. Once you can view the Apple Logo on the screen, release your fingers from both buttons. You can get into the home page after a few seconds. Then, check whether the bookmarks are restored and ‘add bookmark’ function works fine.

  • How to set a form field in pro so an 'adobe reader' user can insert a jpg (not a pdf) as an image. It used to work but now doesn't.

I think this question has been asked a million times before but I'm hoping something has been resolved now! It did work for me and my client a few months ago (by using the 'event.target.buttonImportIcon();' script. I'm 99% certain it worked fine a few months ago, where the adobe reader user could select a jpg to insert...but now it only allows a pdf. Does anyone know if anything can be done? I know you may say LiveCycle but is there really nothing else?
    Thanks in advance.

There's nothing to solve. If Reader (XI only) is used only PDF files can be selected. This is how it's supposed to work (although I agree it's silly and should be changed).

  • Can I store documents (word, excel, .pdf) on my iPhone?

I want to use some of the storage on my 16g 3G phone to store important work documents. Some of these docs may be in word, excel, and .pdf formats. I know I wouldn't be able to open them on the phone, but if I could attach and email them it would save me a lot of time.
    Is this possible?

You can't store documents on the iphone, unless there is a third party app that will do this.
You can e-mail them to yourself and then access them via e-mail.
