Document attaching to Customer Object link

Hi all,
I have created a document relevant for Sales. In object links i have attached this document to Customer object. Here in the Customer master data (After double clicking the Customer object link in the DIR), Can i attach any document to the Customer master irrespective of whether it belongs to Sales?

Yes,provided you have the requisite authorization for creation of the document types and document creation has been enabled from Customer object in DMS customizing.

This is regarding HR object link (Object link PLOGI,screen 500) through DMS .
I have attached a document for a personnel number in CV01N transcation tab HR Object by specifying plan version : blank, Object type 'Person', Object ID -selected the personeel number.
I wanted to view or display this document from HR transactions,Please let me know from whic transaction and menu path I can view the uploaded document.

As Archive Link solution given so many times by many experts.
but, what about
1.TREX Search for HR documents.
2.What abt Authorisation control
3.do you think end user can upload documents easily by selecting object/doc.types in OAAD(ie.OAOH)
4.can you maintain folder structure through Archive Link?
can anybody clarify these queries as it is mandetory in most of business processes? if not what is the alternative solution.

Custom Object Link in DMS

Hi
I need to create Object Link For Inspection lot (table QALS). I followed the steps like Maintain Screen for Object Link, Maintain Key Fields ,Define Object Links for Document Type and implemented BADI DOCUMENT_OBJ. And the object link record is successfully creating in DRAD table. Where as the record is not updating in QALS table(Inspection Lot table). I have a question here, Do i need to save explicitly in QALS table through coding?

Hi,
When you are saving the object link in the Document Info Record(DIR), at that point of time itself, it can be updated in the QALS table via User exit / BADi.
secondly, you had to get some coding for displaying of DIR as additional data in the display screen of inspection lot.
The technical consultant will help you in doing the coding and identification of user exit/ BADi.

Document attachment to custom tables / records

Good morning,
do you know if it is possible to attach external documents to custom tables / records, in the same way as it is possible for standard transactions (Services for Object)?
If yes, can you please advise me on some reference documetns about how to customize this functionality?

Hi ,
Displaying attachments is not available in the Interaction record view.You need custom development to enable the attachemnts there.
usually the process would be to create a followup activity from the interaction record and attch documents there.

Hi, There is no standard report or transaction to get this other than looking at the object through the transaction that creates those attachments, also you can go through SAP OSS note 530792

Attaching a document to a customer

I want to attach a document (PDF) to a customer.
And when creating a new sales order of this customer, the document attached appear. How can i do ?

Hi,
You have entered the customer number in the object link of the u2018Documentu2019 created in DMS. So, you are able to see the PDF file in the Customer master only. Goto the customer master XD03 and check the document in Extras >> Documents.
If you want to link the document number of DMS in the sales order you should have u2018Sales documentu2019 as one of the tabs in object links. Then only you can link the document number with the sales document.
To add the u2018Sales document itemu2019 in the Object link: Goto SPRO >> Cross app components >> Document management >> Control data >> Maintain key fields. Check for table VBAP; or add this in the list.
Goto SPRO >> Cross app components >> Document management >> Control data >> Define document types. Select your document type say u2018ABCu2019 and click on u2018Define object linku2019. Goto new entries and enter the object VBAP. The screen number is 215. Save the settings.
Now you are able to link the document number created in DMS with sales order.

Error when attaching object link in DMS

Hi Experts,
I am calling the function module CV110_DOC_CREATE in my program. This program i have attached to a ztransaction.Thus the screen after entering the document type, document version and part in the cv01n transaction appears when my ztransaction is executed. But the problem is that i can attach object link (document info record) when the ztransaction is executed initially. But when i click on back button and again comes to the screen i am not able to attach the object link.Then it gives an error as " Object does not exist". Please help.

When the back button is clicked screen for my ztransaction comes.From there it is calling the actual screen to attach the object link.there i am trying to attach the object link again...then it is saying as object does not exists. This same dir i have attached earlier as object link when the ztransaction was run initially.

Customized tabstip for CV01N in Object link tab like customer ,material

Can anybody help me out in Customizing Object Links tab for Transaction CV01N.
I want to know exactly how could we add a customized tabstip in object link other than SAP Standards like Material Master, WBS element and etc.
I want to know whether do we have any SAP Note or any Badi to get the tab strip in Object Link tab.

Go to IMG ->Cross-Application Components->Document Management->Control Data->Define Document Types
choose the document type and double click at Define object links and "New Entries"
and enter
Document Type: Your document type
Object: MARA
Screen no.: 201

The business scenarie is that poeple working in only SRM not in ECC system at all and they want easyly reach or link some document in DMS to SRM objects by using object links.

Customization of Object Link of Transaction CV01N

Hi All
   Can anybody help me out in Customizing Object Link of Transaction CV01N.
I want to know exactly how could we add a customized tabstip in object link other than SAP Standards like Equipment Master and Material Master.
How could i link these to R/3 transactions like MB03, FB03, CJ20N etc....
When i save these documents it should get generated and saved to the document data of the respective transactions.

Object link BOM header doesn't work

Hello,
We are in version 4.6C (standard) and I have a following problem with DMS.
I have created a document type and assigned object links STKO_DOC BOM header (screen 258). I have created other document type quite similar, just with different object links, and they work just fine. However, when I create or change my document type with tra CV01N or tra CV02N I cannot see the sheet for assigning the BOM header. I have no error messages. I have tried to compare to the standard document types and simply cannot find out what's wrong.
If I go to the tra CS02 (BOM) to assign my document - I cannot - because the list doesn't show it even though I can see it using CV02N -- CV04N.
I tried to add also object link BOM item (screen 257) but without help.
Can anybody help with this - thank you in advance.

Report Custom object with product?

if I want to create a report with the fields of a custom object in relationship with the fields of the product,is possible?
Because when i cilck in Analytics there aren't Custom Object link and in Product History isn't present the Object link where i select the columns.
Also when I go to the panel of Reporting there is not a link there is not the link that reports Custom Object with Product,also in Product Opportunity there isn't a Object link.
How can I be connected for a report these 2 entity?

Hi Vale,
Unfortunately, not every object relationship is exposed within analytics and reports, and that is the case with the relationship you are trying to report on (i.e. Custom Object and Product). Also, Custom Objects can only be reported on using real time reporting (as opposed to the historical analytics).

Object Link MARC - Screen 211

In SAP you can link a Document info record to object link to MARC (Material u2013 Plant)
I was expecting to be able to view DIR in a plant specific view within the material master, but I canu2019t seem to find it.
Does anyone know where I can see this link, or am I looking in a totally wrong place.
