Document Attachments in SRM

Hi All,
Thanks for your help on previous posts. Now my question is, where do you define the type of documents that can be attached to a shopping cart in SRM 5.0? Also, is there a similar process for attachments in Invoice processing?
Thanks for your help!

Hi

  • Restricted access to attachments in SRM 7.0 web applications

    Hi,
We have a very specific problem regarding the handling of attachments with SRM 7.0 web applications. The system is configured to use ArchiveLink for storing documents on a remote content server, which is working fine.
Now we have a requirement which should restrict access to certain documents to specific user groups. As an example you could say that a Purchase order has (besides others) two documents attached, e.g.
    - signed contract
    - meeting minutes
The contract should only be visible to a limited number of people, whereas the Meeting Minutes are accessible to everybody.
Our problem is that apparently only one Content Category ("BBPFILESYS") is used by the SRM web applications for an upload. When granting authorizations on this content category, we cannot distinguish between contracts and meeting minutes anymore.
Comparing this with the config in ECC we can freely define document types which can be used in AUTH profiles. Is there any similar solution that can be used in SRM 7.0?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Mark

  • Attachments from SRM to SAP R/3

    Hi,
We are currently setting up the DMS for document attachments from SRM5.0 to the SAP R/3 backend, and have followed the customising steps for both SAP R/3 and SRM accordingly.
In the process, we attach documents to the SC. The follow-on document created is a PR. The problem that we face is when we view the PR from ME53N, and select the ‘Services for Object’ – the attachments link is ‘greyed’.
However, in transaction CV04N, we can see the attachment/s via the object link (referencing the respective PR and item no.)
Also, if one creates a PR directly in the SAP backend, and then create an attachment via the ‘Services for Object’, you can see the attachments and the link is not ‘greyed’ out. This attachment can also be viewed via CV04N
I have been through many of the links on SDN, and can not find any possible solution that describes this problem. Is there any additional customising that is required for this link to be visible and not greyed out when viewing PR’s created from SRM?
Anyone experienced the same issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
    Many thanks and best regards,
    Alan Brouard

    Hi Nacho.
Sorry the bad news, but account is not transfers from SRM to ECC or from ECC to SRM in contracts.
The Contracts goes between systems via IDOCs (BLAREL)
As you can see in transaction WE60, IDOC BLAREL02 has not account data.

  • Document transfer from SRM to DMS through content server

    Hi Everybody,
In one of scenarios we need to transfer documents attached to the shopping cart line items in SRM to R/3.
For that we followed the following procedure.
1.In the SRM to R/3 system, the attachments are driven by the BADIs.
2.In the BADI, if we define DMS_C1_ST as the storage category for R/3 Database, the DMS should work
3.The existing DMS, the customized content server is Z_DMS.
4.Using SRM (with Z_DMS)we are able to create the Document Info Record
5.The attachments are not reflected in DMS (driven through SRM)
6.When the attachments are added in the DMS manually, DMS works perfect
I am thinking there might be some configuration required in content server for the conversion of original application files.
If anybody have the solution for this please post here.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

  • Transfer of legacy open P.O with attachments to SRM

    Hello SRM Folks,
Can some one let me know How we can transfer Open P.O or closed P.O from Legacy system to SRM with  Attachments directly..
    Need your inputs..
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ivy,
Thanks for the quick response. the note provided is for SRM 7.0 and SRM 7.0 EHP1 packages and currently we are in SRM 7.0 EHP2
Can you please guide me in configuring the settings required in DMS in ECC side.
    1. Is it mandatory to use only document type of SRM in ECC or any Z-Document type can be used ?
    2. Wat is the relevant settings to be mapped in DC10, DC20 and DC30 . If possible guide me step by step of settings for the document type to send the attachment in PR.
    3. Does the system sends the document in URL or as an attachment to SC ?

  • Can't send document attachments from Mail to iPhone

...well I can but not very well.... When using Gmail IMAP to sync everything, document attachments sent from Mac Mail to iPhone mail arrive as a bit of mess.. i.e. not as attachments but as text within the email itself, plus lots of garbled numbers and letters. Strange because if I send the same message from the iPhone back to itself or from webmail-Gmail it works fine. Its also just fine with photos and Pdf's. Help!

    No, sorry. false alarm.
I just received a message, sent by Apple Mail 2.1.2 from OS 10.4.11, through POP, to an email-forwarding address, to my imap-gmail, and received from there (by IMAP) with Mail 2.1.2, too.
Details of what got garbled below, just to say that sending the email not to the forwarding address but directly to [email protected] did not help either.
the email was constructed like so:
    - some text, readable.
    - an attached PDF, space characters in name. this entire pdf was just printed in the email, meaning the postscript code and what have you.
    - some more text, that was still readable
    - an attached image that was probably pasted into the email, the name was "pastedGraphic.png". The image survived.
    - text, readable.
    - another PDF, raw contents printed into email body.
    - a zip file, spaces in name, made with the built-in archive maker of Tiger. Also here, the entire 'source code' of the zip is printed in the body copy.
    - some final bits of text. readable.
On another computer, this email was not routed through a gmail account and was received by POP. not a single problem there. In fact, not ever.
    This is not very cool

  • Integrate Document Builder to SRM (wihtout using PPS or XI)

    Hi all,
I am using SRM 7.0 and I want to use the Document builder with SRM  without activation the PPS (Procurement for Public Sector) business scenario and without XI.
I looked at some documentation at the service market place
    https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000676863&
and also found the Wiki entry:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/DocBuilder/DocumentBuilder3ContentConfiguration+Guide
But the first seem to imply the use of PPS, and the second one describes the configuration of a stand-alone mode, which means that Document Builder is not integrated to another component.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to integrate the document builder into SRM without using PPS or XI?
    Thanks very much.
    Regards
    Ulrike

    Hi,
Thank you, Roman, for creating the helpful instructions on integrating Document Builder with HCM using Web Services (Cross-application synchronized integration - SAP Document Builder - SCN Wiki).
Document Builder can be integrated to any SAP application in a similar fashion to how Roman describes in his link; however, in the case of SRM with Procurement for Public Sector (PPS) there is out-of-the-box configurable integration available that shortcuts this process.  Licensed PPS customers can access the PPS integration aide by activating the PPS switch.

  • Mapping of invoice document type in SRM and Backend

    hi,
I need to map invoice document type in SRM and backend. We are in SRM5.0.
e.g. when we create no PO invoice , we need to select document type from drop down  and that document type should be replicated to backend invoice document type.
    1. There is no list in drop down of invoice document type ( RE/RN)
    2. How it will be replicated to back end document type when enter document type instead of selection?
If anyone came across this, pls let me know.

  • Can you save R/3 documents (attachments to sales orders) in KM?

We have R/3 version 4.6c and KM version 2004.  We would like to have R/3 Sales Order document attachments that are currently stored in the Knowledge Provider - Document Management System to be stored in a NetWeaver 2004 KM Repository.  Has anyone done this? or know how to configure this?

Tracy, I am not sure if you can store the document attachments in KM but using the KM DMS Connector you can access them from portal KM.

  • Records management and Document builder in SRM with PS

    Hi,
We are implementing SRM 5.0 with PS ( Public section), can any one share any experience and documentation about Records management and Document builder in SRM with PS.
    Thank you
    Sreedhar Vetcha

    Hi Chris,
I am having the same issue as Patrizia while using BSP, SRM_DEMO_RECORD & SRM_DEMO_BSPEXT, to search/display, maybe update later the records, documents, and notes that are stored in RM. I have read all the documentation  described in your messages as to how to customize web display BSP application using these 2 BSPs, srm_demo_record & srm_demo_bspext.
I tested SRM_DEMO_RECORD with <srm:element> tag embbeded in the layout page, but it lists only the records that associated to a given RMS_ID and SPS_ID, and I wasn't able to get it to display the associated document and notes for a selected RM record. The comments on the iview page in BSP suggest the custom code is needed for initial request from browser and callback event to return the notification for the activities occurred in RM. As you suggested to Patrizia, I wonder if you've some sample code that i could use to make these BSPs work before additional enhancements is needed later.  As far as other prerequisit settings of http access and assigning search interface class to the correct service provider element type using GENSP_QUERY_EXT connection parameter are all properly set with my customer. So i'd feel really grateful if you could forward me the example codes for these BSPS.

  • FAST JDBC Connector with documents/attachments

Hi, we are using FAST database connector for crawling/indexing a Oracle database, from the docs we didn't find sample of crawling documents stored in Oracle. We created a Python script to do that but the problem is, only one document can be crawled/indexed
to FAST, and we are using DATA property to store.
I'd like to know is how to crawl documents/attachments in JDBC connector by leveraging document processor and how we map to FAST managed properties?
    Thank you.

    Hi JOSHUA,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use FAST JDBC connector for crawling/indexing documents/attachments stored in an Oracle database.
You can use the following string to connect to the Oracle database:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@<YourServerHere>:1521:<YourDataBaseNameHere>
    Where:
•<YourServerHere> is the Oracle server host name
•<YourDatabaseNameHere> is the name of the source database that you are connecting to
More information, please refer to the link below:

  • How to transfer historic document attachments while migrating BP masterdata

    Hi,
Hope one of you might have encountered such a situation. We have host of customer masters in legacy which has customer specific documents attached. While migrating the data from legacy to standalone CRM, is there an easy way to migrate these document attachments automatically into the 'Document' view of the CRM ?
We are installing standalone CRM 5.0 version
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

  • Tables of Document Attachments to BP

    Hi friends,
Do you have any ideas about the table which stores  the document attachments to BP.
Early reply would be appreciated .
    Thanks in advance.
    Kumar

    Kumar,
Instead of trying to read the table use the following ABAP class:
    CL_CRM_DOCUMENTS
You can search this forum for some coding examples on how to use this function module.
This thread gives a basic example:
    Activity Mgmt - Attachment
The business object type should be BUS1006
The instance id should be the partner number of the business partner.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Use of a content server to store attachments in SRM

    Hi all,
We already have an SRM system in production storing many large attachments on table BBPCONT.
We are facing huge performance problems because:
           a) SRM holds the whole file content in memory during document upload.
           b) During the process of saving the document, SRM creates one record in VBDATA table for each row that will be stored in BBPCONT. For large files, this process of inserting data at VBDATA takes a very long runtime.
    I have two questions:
       1) Anyone already handled this situation ?
       2) We are thinking about using an external content server to store attachments. My concern is related to the attachments already stored at BBPCONT. Will these documents be available to the user or it is necessary to build conversion programs to move attachments from BBPCONT to the external server ?
    Best Regards,
    Roberto

    Hello Roberto,
    1) Yes, but we anticipated this performance issue by switching to an external Content Server. I also remember one performance issue: when you are uploading an attachement in your session, the system will store it in a temporary table BBP_TRANSCONTENT (the content is not stored in memory). It will be definitively stored in BBPCONT only if the user saves the purchasing document (otherwise we pollute the final table).
    2) You have to "migrate" old documents from BBPCONT to the new Content Repository (ex:Content Server). There is a report for that : RSIRPIRL.

  • PO -document attachments file size

    All,
We have extended classic scenario.  One PO is in ordered status and it contains nearly 30 attached documents.
When we tried to attach one more PDF document (example test.pdf) we get a dump.
But the same document can be attached to another PO, which has less number of documents.
Is there any limitation of number of documents can be attached to a PO?
Is there any limitation of total size of all the attached documents for a given PO?
    Thanks
    srigant

Per standard, you might upload a maximum of 5MB size for attachments
If you like to upload the files more than 5MB, you can use CFOLDERs. And do not upload attachments in a normal way which are greater than 5MB.
Max, 5 MB size is for one attachment and not the sum of attachments
size. this size limit is only valid when customer's use ITS 620 with SRM 4.0 and not for ITS 640 with SRM 5.0 onwards. for SRM 5.0 with ITS 640 customer can upload upto 75MB attachment.  Secondly for ITS 620 aswell, the size limit can be extended by changing a parameter setting in ITS as a modification by customers. there is no restriction in the total attachment size in one SRM  document. The limit is concerned only for each attachment.
If these information doesn't help, you can create a SAP ticket to report this dump.
