Document descriptions in the KB

Can anyone tell me how the document descriptions are generated by the .Net NT file crawler in v5.0.4? There is an article on the KB but it relates to v4.0 of plumtree
thanks

You can ignore columns that apply only to bookmarks if you look at the history in the Library.<br />
Keywords also do not apply to Bookmark folders.
You can select which columns to show via Views > Show Columns or via a right-click on the header bar.

  • How do I unlock My Documents folder in the hard-drive with another PC?

    I have a 3000 series j100 desktop, 3 days ago restarted on its own and can't boot anymore, no keyboard, no mouse and no monitor signal sent from the pc.
    I took the drive out and use it as an external drive to my laptop, but it asks for a password before I can access My Documents folder.
    I believe it's the windows xp login password that's needed, but there's no field on that pop-up box to enter any password it asks.
    I know my windows login password, but I don't know if that's what really needed and how to use it to unlock the folder.
    Is there another way to access the folder, or do I need to get the computer working again to access the folder in the drive?
    I also do have some encrypted files inside My Documents folder that I created with windows when the pc was working.
    The encryption comes along with windows xp. When you right-click a file, you choose properties and advance option then apply the encryption, then the file name turns color to green.
    Could it be the reason I can't access My Documents folder in the drive with another pc?
    Please help, I need to know if I need to do a recovery job or is there an easy way to access My Documents folder in the drive with another computer.

  • Default File Name in Description of the DIR,

    Hello Sap Gurus,
    We are having  automatic DIR creation from notification screen, DIR creation takes place automatically.
    The requirement is when the DIR is created automatically the File name should be defaulted to the description of the DIR,
    This is required as when we see the list of documents automatically created from notification screen we only see the DIR No, Part and Version, and the description is Blank as it is not entered while automatic creation. (and this DIR No will give no detailed explanation)
    after doing this if required we can restrict  such that  for Each DIR only a single file to be uploaded.
    (FYI
    i have found this do happen when uploading documents manually in to Easy DMS, but how to upload file automatically in to Easy DMS is there any separate BAPI for uploading in Easy DMS Separately pls advice,)
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
    you can use a user Exit after assigning the file. The file name is existing as variable in the function so that you can set this value as document description.

  • Why do I not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

    We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
    1)  When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected.  However when we click on the document
    link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option.  Why does this happen?????
    2)  The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email;   HOWEVER,  one of our co-workers does get the
    check out option when clicking on the link in the email task.  Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ????  We have compared our internet settings and adobe
    settings to ours and found no differences.
    We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI.  Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you could not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, no matter when I click the pdf type document in the library or click on the pdf document link in the workflow task email, it download the pdf doucment and then I can open it.
    It will be better if you can descript how you
    get the check out option as expected when you click on the pdf document in the library.
    Then I upload a
    word type document to the library, no matter when I click the word type document in the library or click on the word document link in the workflow task email, I can open the word document directly and get the check out option as expected.
    I recommend to use the other type docuemts to check whether the check out option works.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • How to include citation information into document description

    I am a chemistry professor in a small college and have a large number of journal articles as pdf's that I reference in my research.  I'd would like to include fields for the article citation such as:  Journal, Volume, Issue, page, Author 1, Author 2.  I can copy these items in Zotero or Endnote, but it seems logical that they should be imbedded in the document and part of the Document Description and go along if I share the document with a student or collague.
    I have Acrobat 6.0 and would upgrade if a newer version of Acrobat would to this.  I would also really like to avoid using "metadata".

    Metadata is the logical way to include the information. You could add a text field, possibly making it hidden if desired, that contains the information. The standard form text field is markup and would not print if you selected only the document for printing. You could also add a header or footer that had the citation information. Another option would be to use the text touchup tool and hold the ctrl key as you place the cursor. That will give you a text field that is part of the document that allows you to enter the information. That lists a few items that might meet your need.

  • Document Description Issue.

    Hi All,
    When I create a document in CV01n and mention some description for that document, the description of the document is stored only in the log in language.
    e.g. I logged in with EN, then the description of the document will only be stored in EN language.
           If I see the same document in DE language, the description will be blank.
    is there any standard way in which we can copy the the description in English to other languages.
    Thanks and Regards.
    Piyush R Sakharkar.

    Hi,
    Espen is right. The document description is normally stored in combination with the logon language. The only alternative would be to go to tab "Descriptions" and here you can add different descriptions for different languages.
    Otherwise the BADI method mentioned by Espen could help to add further entries in table DRAT.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Can SharePoint automatically remove documents from "Followed Documents" list once the document is deleted?

    Hi,
    SharePoint 2013, I followed a document.  It appears in my "Followed Documents" list.  Now someone deleted the document I followed.  I want the item be automatically removed from my "Followed Documents" list.  How to
    do this?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Sindy,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to automatically delete the following documents links after the documents are deleted.
    I tested the same scenario in my environment, and I got the same results as you got.
    It is by design that the links will not be deleted automatically when the documents are deleted.
    We need to click Stop following to clear the links.
    Thanks,

  • XI Actions: Add Document Descriptions - Values not showing

    1. Using Adobe Pro XI (version 11.0.0) I create a new Action and I add the Add Document Description step.
    2. I click Specify Settings and enter default values for Title, Subject, Author and Keyword (e.g. as in the screenshot below).
    3. I close the dialog box and activate the Prompt User checkbox.
    4. I save the action.
    When I run this action, the description dialog box comes up, but none of my default values ("a", "b", "c", "d") shows up. This seemed to work well with similar  actions in Adobe Pro X.
    What goes wrong?
    Here is the exported action:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Workflow xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/acrobat/workflow/2012" title="test add document description" description="" majorVersion="1" minorVersion="0">
    <Group label="Untitled">
      <Command name="GeneralInfo" pauseBefore="false" promptUser="true">
       <Items>
        <Item name="Author" type="text" value="c"/>
        <Item name="Keywords" type="text" value="d"/>
        <Items name="LeaveAsIs">
         <Item name="Author" type="boolean" value="false"/>
         <Item name="Keywords" type="boolean" value="false"/>
         <Item name="Subject" type="boolean" value="false"/>
         <Item name="Title" type="boolean" value="false"/>
        </Items>
        <Item name="Subject" type="text" value="b"/>
        <Item name="Title" type="text" value="a"/>
       </Items>
      </Command>
    </Group>
    </Workflow>

    I just realize that updating from 11.0.0 to the latest patches (11.0.10) resolves the issue.

  • When printing a AD RMS protected email (Exchange IRM), can have the description of the AD RMS template policy print as well ?

    Greetings,
    I noticed when I get an email which is AD RMS protected (e.g. read only ) but I am given the permission to print, I will like to have the AD RMS policy template description to print as well.
    This description is the one that shows up at the top of the email when reading a AD RMS protected email.
    Thanks
    Sarbjit Gill

    Hi Sarbjit,
    There is no printing template description feature that works out of the box. However, You can implement Watermarks text being placed on your document when using ADRMS policices but only with integrating ADRMS with 3rd party solutions (f.e. Gigatrust,
    SecureIsland, Foxit, etc).

  • Updating Document Description

    What is the best way to update document description?
    We are trying to use BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2  but it is not updating DIR description.
    We also tried using Commit post this BAPI.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Niketan,
    BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2  is the correct way.
    Could you please send the code?
    I guess there is one of following mistakes:
    DMS key is not provided in parameters DOCUMENTTYPE, DOCUMENTNUMBER, DOCUMENTPART and DOCUMENTVERSION
    DOCUMENTDATA-DESCRIPTION is set to new text but DOCUMENTDATAX-DESCRIPTION is not set to 'X'
    function module BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT has to be executed after change
    Using this the text in the actual language will be set/changed.
    To change other languages you could use table Parameter DOCUMENTDESCRIPTIONS.
    Regards,
    Benedikt
