Do we have to purchase separate licence to use Document Editor powered by EDIFECS

No not at all,
Please apply patch 5550097. The license expired on the initial released CD and This patch renews the license and enhances the editor.
The current patches are:
6488268 Oracle B2B
5550097 Document Editor
Note:
The above patches are a pair, upgrading the 10.1.2.0.2 installation and are accumulative and are Available on Metalink.
A new patch replacing 6488268, will be out shortly. Refer to:

Looking for a Third Party document editor

I am running a Palm IIIxe with Palm OS 3.5 on a Vista 32 bit laptop with Palm Desktop 7.2 with HOTSYNCSTETUP patch.
I am looking for a document editor that I can use so that I can create text documents and import them into my wordprocessor after sync.
Could someone help me with this before the summer semester starts in June.

I'm not sure if they made a version for the Palm IIIxe but you can look into Docs to Go. If that is not compatible or does not work browse around www.freewarepalm.com for a bit and you might find what you need.

B2B Document Editor Global Replace for Requirement attribute

Hi Gurus,
I am having hard time to replace requirement attribute from required to optional to all segments and fields through B2B document editor.
Here is my scenario...
I am building a spec for "Application A" and it is expecting HL7 structure with all segments and fields are optionanl.
I tried with "Find & Replace" tool but when I select Segment and Field nodes it is not giving an option for "Requirement" (Search Atributes section)
Any trick?

It would be very helpful and save lot of time for us if we have that functionality in the tool. I am wondering what stopping in the tool to replace "Requirement" and "User Option" attributes as it is allowing to replace all other (Data Type, ID, Name, Position,Purpose, Repeats) attributes.

B2B Document Editor: XSD for latest EDIFACT

Hi,
I am using B2B Document editor to get .xsd files for EDIFACT. (Using export to .xsd).
The latest editor has D.07A and D.07B which are 2007 version of files.

I need 2009 version of standards.
Please let me know the procedure to integrate latest Standards or any location where I can find .xsd of EDIFACT.

For which EDIFACT message's XSD you are looking for? You may check with Oracle Support to get formal confirmation on the versions supported through latest Document Editor.

Document Editor X12 Document Type 5030

Hi All
One of our Customer requested X12 Document Type 5030.
But in Oracle B2B Document Editor i can see only up to 5020.
So can any one Please guide me how can i get X12 Document Type 5030 in to Document Editor.
Do i need to install any patches to get this ??

No with that patch we didn't get the 5030.
this is the message we got from the oracle support
I have Document Editor version 6.0.0.1476, and I still do not find EDI X12 version 5030.
I have contacted product management to get the EDI X12 update you need. In the meantime, I suggest you apply patch 5550097
to get you to 6.0.0.1476, which is required for the very latest B2B Server patches.

Regular expression in B2B Document editor

Hi All,
i intent to parse a file coming into B2B with record entry starting as ' 88'. And i want to use this value 88 to differentiate it from other records. I have set a rule (^[ \t]+88) on the field to pick this entry and set the value of the tag field as 88.
but it is not getting picked up properly and is jumping over this record itself completely. could you please suggest how this regular expression rules work when used with tag.. i have to use only the rule but still the record is not getting properly picked up...

Yes, there is a de-identification support in Data Editor of B2B Document Editor. Once you open a EDI or HL7 doc with data editor, it will ask you to "Choose De-Identification and specify rule file". You may create a separate file for your use. Data Replacement Rule file is actually a XML which holds the separator information along with the data to be replaced. You may define your own DRR file.
To know more, just open the Data Editor from Document Editor, go to Help --> Content -->Data Replace and De-Identify section.

In my server, SOA suite 11g is installed, which include B2B engine also.For devoloping a POC in B2B environment, document editor is necessary or not?. Without document editor, is it posible to devolop a simple POC? I am completely new to this B2B environment.

Unable to use B2B Document Editor tool to create guideline from data file

Does anyone successfully used the B2B Document Editor tool to generate the guideline doc from an HL7 data file ?
I attempted to use the SpecGenerator feature of this tool to create a guideline from the "a01.xml" sample file in the HL7 tutorials (came with the B2B installation" and the wizard kept on giving me "parsing errors" message below
"The data in the file could not be parsed. Please check the file to verify that it is valid and formatted correctly. This error can occur for one of the following reasons: A) The data file may be a Word document or have some other binary format. B) The envelope data may not be formatted properly. If this is an X12 data file, please verify that the ISA segment is the correct size (exactly 106 characters). If this is an EDIFACT data file, it must have either a UNA or begin with UNB. For other standards, verify that the envelope segments conform to the specified rules. C) The segment/record delimiters in the file are incorrect."
Any idea why ? I did not alter the sample file in anyway -- its format is exactly the same as when it was installed.

I would suggest that you learn the B2B product starting with the HL7 tutorial. Start by importing the export files and follow the instructions to make the system work end to end.
Next, you want to configure for the HL7 tutorial manually using the ecs and xsd files provided in the HL7 tutorial directory. Again, ensure that the system work end to end after you have done the manual configuration.
Next, you create a new ecs and xsd file using the Document Editor from scratch and use them in your manual configuration. You can use the same doctype and version as in the tutorial so that you can be familiar with the Document Editor and at the end of this exercise, you know you have done things properly if the system works end to end. The documentation for Document Editor is mainly in the Windows Help section.
After the incremental steps above, you will have the knowledge to implement the document type and version of your project. Going straight into the requirements in your project makes it difficult to debug because they are too many moving parts.

FDM_AUTO_CREATE for EDI 820 Deposits

Hi Experts
We are using the EDi 820 from the customer directly for the Incoming payments and credit memo (Deductions taken by them).
The transactions failed in the EDI 820 inbound process will be run through the post processing in FB01 and F-28.
Still we are going to have the transactions from EDI 820 which can not be matched to the corresponding invoice number because the customer provides their own credit memo reference num.
After few days can we take above finally failed transactions and create them as Dispute cases in FDM_AUTO_CREATE instead of the manually via F-28 or FB01.
FDM_AUTO_CREATE runs for the Automatic incoming payments and Open items options.
Which method or option is to be selected in it and what are the input selections to be used for EDI 820 failed transactions.
Please advise accordingly.

Thank you very much for your response.
However as I mentioned, some disputes were created for this customer in the same batch job. So I dont think the customer could be locked for any reason.
If I try to run FDM_AUTO_CREATE in the foreground in the test mode for this particular document, it does propose to create a dispute case for this line item.
So not sure why this document could have missed in the batch job.

Unable to import gentran DDF file in B2B Document Editor

I am trying to import DDF file (available from a Gentran Integration Server) in to B2B Document editor (11.1.1.6 or 11.1.1.7). The DDF file has no external reference to a DTD file (and hence the first line resembles <!DOCTYPE GENTRANDDF> and not <!DOCTYPE GENTRANDDF SYSTEM "something.dtd">). While importing, I get an error "The element GENTRANDDF is used but not declared in the DTD/Schema".
Presuming the missing DTD for the above error, I created my own DTD (using Stylus or IntelliJ etc...), but that results in a variety of different errors.
Can anyone advise what type of DDF can actually be imported in to Oracle B2B ? The document is not very clear on this topic. There is a very old OTN community thread Import Gentran DDF but that also has no solution explained.

Problem with Sender Agreement for EDI File to Idoc scenario

I'm configuring PI for EDI with Seeburger Adapter (Calling as a Module) and I'm having an issue with the Sender Agreement using File Adapter.
Process used is File to IDOC. EDI data will be picked up from VAN (Using existing FTP process rather than using Seeburger FTP) and stored in a folder which is being accessed by PI to send to R/3 to create orders.
All my inbound EDI will be stored in same folder which should be picked up by XI and distribute the same depending upon the respective scenario's in ID and respective mapping/config in IR.
The whole process IR & ID works fine and also creates Idoc in R/3, if I configure for one customer for EDI 850, but when I try to configure for second customer for same EDI 850 having same ANSIX12 version (V4010) as previous customer, I get stuck at the Sender Agreement part for this second customer because I use the same CC for File read for both the customers (Scenarios) and since there is a limitation with File Adapter "sender channel must not be assigned to more than one sender agreement ".
How can I create the Sender Agreement using the same CC for my other scenario?
I tried creating multiple CC for different scenario but when I place a test file for customer A, I see that its being picked up by both CC's.

You need to configure splitter as module in sender file adapter (classifier->bic->splitter) as well as define a message splitter(with partner number and Seeburger mapping) in Seeburger workbench.

Does Seeburger Workbench play any role here? because I'm not using See FTP adapter to connect to my VAN. We get the data from the VAN using FTP process but not using See FTP. I'm using BIC to generate an XSD and SDA file, rest everything is in XI using File to idoc and IDOC to file process.

Vocabulary not getting executed for EDI 855 data

I am trying to pull data from EDI file using vocabulary. But it's not returning any value.

No error message. But after I realized that I am not executing instruction loader policy before the rule that uses the vocabulary, then I created instruction loader policy to set the document type for 855 schema.
But that policy is throwing an exception now. "An exception occurred while executing the policy"
