Hi,
You can give Valid from and Valid properties to a document. Before that its doucment parent folder should be lifetime enabled. You also need to activare the Time dependent publishing services.
Then people having only read permission can only see only betweenthe valid from and valid to dates.
People having full rights can see even though the time expires.

Insert document expiration date in a Word template

Hello all,
I have a problem I hope anyone can help me with. I need to include a column in Document Library with the Document expiration date and after that, include that expiration date into the Word templates I have in that library.
In order to do that, I created a date column (not a calculated one) called "ExpDate" with a default value of Today + 365 as I want the document to expire one year after its creation. After that, I edit the word templates I have associated to the
document library so as to include the new "ExpDate" column as a Quick part.
The problem I find is the following: When I create a new document based in the document templates (through content types), the user has the chance to insert an expiration date (as it is metadata) or leave it empty (the column is not defined as mandatory). If
the user leaves the expiration date empty, the new column is filled with the default value (today + 365 days) but when I open the word document I see the name of the column [ExpDate] instead of the default value.
Is there a way of forcing the document information panel to be filled with the default value?
Do you imagine an alternative solution to the requirement of including the expiration date inside the document without having to be defined by the user?

Wordsub.llb should be somewhere in your Labview folder on your local drive. The path to it in my install is: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb
Also what specific problem are you referring to about 17 bookmarks? Is that the limit on the express style VI for filling them in from LV? If so what you will need to do is to use the lower level function 'Word Insert Field' under Word Advanced VIs. You will need to supply the VI the name of the bookmark and the text you want to insert.

Document Expiration Date Not Updating

Hi,
I’ve implemented a document retention policy based upon a custom date field. The custom date field is not for users to edit so it defaults to 1/1/1900 for new documents and I have written a console app that updates the custom date field to an appropriate
date. The problem is that the expiration date, both for new and existing documents, doesn’t update. This is also the case if I update the document properties manually. In dev updating the custom date field, manually or via code,
triggers an update in the expiration date but this isn’t happening in UAT. We’re using a content type hub in UAT although I can’t see how that makes a difference as the information management policies have been distributed correctly.
Does anyone have an ideas as to why the expiration dates are not re-calculating?

It is running and I've run it manually a number of times. But my understanding is that the job only updates new or amended expiration policies, it doesn't re-calculate for existing ones. That aside, the expiration date should update immediately when
the field upon which is based is updated - at least that's the behaviour I've seen in development.

I have already created a new BADI which contains interface MB_DOCUMENT_BADI. There I use the method MB_DOCUMENT_BEFORE_UPDATE. What I want to do is to modify the expirate date (VFDAT) from MSEG.
I thought that I could use BAPI_CUSTOMERCONTRACT_CHANGE but I can't because I don't have any <b>order</b>. The parameters I use to create the material document are next: GOODS RECEIP --> OTHERS --> movement 501. After that I enter the information of the material.
After that I want to check if the expirate date has been insert or not. If it is not, I want to insert 31.12.9999 (dd/mm/yyyy).
I tried to use this fuction: MB_CHANGE_DOCUMENT also with IN BACKGROUND TASK and after that COMMIT WORK.
The program doesn't do anything, and it is just because in transaccion SM58 it says "MISSING PARAMETER WITH PERFORM".
Which BAPI or FUNTION can I use to resolve my problem?? I'm completely locked!

Actually, it can be done with JS, but it is far from a secure solution and there are various ways a user can get around it (download a new copy of the file, disable JS entirely, change their local time, etc.), so yes, for a real solution you'll need to use DRM technology.

Bolivia: expiring date for issuing billing document

Hi gurus,
there is a singular requirement in Bolivia which consists of a date in which a certain billing document has to be issued according to several variables, e.g, the number range issued by the Local tax agency.
Is there in VBRK a field which could fit such requirement? if not, is there any standard field which could be added to VBRK? Otherwise, there is no more option than configuring a header text where user can update this date or as per standard texts in SO10 which can be called from the billing form, bearing in mind that this "expiring date" lasts at least for one year.

In VBRK, as for as date fields are concerned, to my knowledge all fields (pricing date, billing date etc) would be filled in from a predecing document and no date field would be left with blank which I am not sure as right now, I dont have access to SAP. Nevertheless, there would be some unutilized fields which you can check and make use of that. Having said this, you can achieve this with the help of billing exit.

Inclusion of line items before previous document due date passed

Hi All,
I am having below mentioned scenario:
1. I am invoicing a consumer in Aug-14 with periodic billing order. Document is having due date of 10-Sep.
2. Further I am doing interim billing and invoicing (before previous document due date expired) with posting date say 05-Sep.
The recent document of 05-Sep is not including all line items of document invoiced in Aug-14.
How do we include Aug-14 bill line items in next invoicing.

If you are not using Integrated Account Maintenance, under "Item Selection for Bill printout (Subitems)" it should be as easy as leaving Open Items Selection restriction blank - meaning "All open items for contract acct (w. and w/o ref. to cntrct)", setting the "Interval days for the due date of items to be printed" to 999, and choosing the "Consider Items in Bill Sum Total" setting - once or always, I believe. If it doesn't work, I'd be looking at FQEVENT R410 FMs to see if the Items are passed that far.
<rant on>I can't to this day get how come so many Utilities (in my experience - all I've worked with) practice this "double" or even multiple billing of the same amounts (even if the amounts do not multiply in FI-CA postings, you have invoiced the amounts to customer multiple times). Or rather - nobody has been able to tell a valid and irrefutable reason, why things need to be done that way - it's usually "that's how we have always done it" reason. The accounting people don't even care that the previous invoice remains valid in the system (as long as their precious FI-CA postings do not multiply), because there is nothing in IS-U that automatically reverses or invalidates it... And I don't get why the regulators even permit it...<rant off>

Expiration date and Price break date in blanket purchase agreement

In Blanket purchase agreement i see expiration date and in price break i see the from date and to date, can some one tell me the difference between these two dates?
Issue
1.when i try to put an end date(expiration date) to one of the line i get this error message or when i try to cancel the po line by giving some reason it throws the same error.
The error
"You cannot cancel or finally close this agreement line because there are open purchase order lines referencing this document."

Hi Sudarshan,
Expiration date under BPA is used to prevent ordering of the item after the date appearing in this expiration field. It will stop you to create new releases incase you are trying to create one after the expiry date of the BPA.
In short, If the item on the agreement has expired but already exists on an open release, you can still use the release. However, the expired line item will not be used for sourcing, and any future releases you create will not allow using the expired item.
Under Price Break, Effective from and to date indicates the validaity of Price break rule for a particular duration. This is restricted to Price break rule only.

Cannot use back button, Document expired. Need a workaround on 1 website. Also mozilla says it crashes every time I close it.

I use one website extensively day to day in researching for my business. Move forward and bacj to original search in order to tweak the search criteria and Im constantly getting:
Document Expired
This document is no longer available.
The requested document is not available in Firefox's cache.
As a security precaution, Firefox does not automatically re-request sensitive documents.
Click Try Again to re-request the document from the website.
This has become a real pain in the neck and I need to find a work around. Ive researched to find check the box stating
"override automatic cache" which is checked already and still have the issue.
ALSO everytime I shut down firefox I get a message stating it has crashed??

You can clear your cache without clearing anything else.
If you are using the Clear Recent History dialog, make sure to expand the lower section ("Details") and uncheck the other categories of personal data.
Or you can use the method described below.

Are you sending HTTP response headers that instruct Firefox not to cache the pages?
You can get a "document expired" message if you use the back button to return to a specific page and the web site has instructed Firefox not to cache the page.<br />
Firefox tries to retrieve the page from the server, possibly by sending POST data.

I'm aware of JS API Reference disclaimer on page 277. I am executing it from folder level script. The script hasn't changed in 2 years and worked fine in Adobe versions 7.0 through 9.3.2. It stopped working when Adobe released version 9.3.3.
I can make the script do nothing but
this.closeDoc(true);
so that there is no reference to the document after it closes. I still get a fatal error:
Expected a dict Object
Followed by Microsoft Error report
Followed by:
Runtime error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader9.0\Reader\Acrord32.exe

Then Reader closes.
All our users have rolled back to Reader 9.3.2 and the problem went away.
I don't believe it is related to the location of the method ...rather something Adobe changed between version 9.3.2 and 9.3.3.

Get battery expiration date with sscs on CLI

At the moment I search for a command to view more information as
sscs list -d <Device-Name> -t battery fru provides.I search something like show battery-status from sccli.
I found this document about battery status and sscs:

Maybe somebody has a few hints or can point my to the right document.

If you are managing your storage array with the StorageTek Common Array Manager you can look up the battery age in there.
1. Go to Storage Systems 6130a Troubleshooting FRUs.
2. Click Battery.
3. Click on the relevant tray controller battery, and you'll see details "Life Remaining" and "Element Status" (Optimal, Near Expiration, or Expired) and "Battery Age".

Black Ink HP 45 Expiration Date

I have a HP Deskjet 880C, which uses HP 45 black ink, and I was wondering if this model printer is effected by the expiration date/installation date listed on the ink. Also, if it is effected, how does it effect usage? Thanks.

The 45 cartridges have an internal spring bag to regulate ink back pressure. A vent is not required. Removing the fill plug ball will likely allow the ink to dribble out the nozzles and is NOT recommended.
Are you using cartridges that are very old? Check the "install before" or "warranty ends" date on the back of the package. If the cartridges are very old they may not print properly. You can also check the warranty date (two years from the date of manufacture) as shown in the document here.
