Document format issue from iPad

I created a pages document on the iPad, when I open it up in Pages for the Mac the formating is seriously off. At first it looks like the text is just shifted, but there are images that are 3 pages out of place.
I can quick preview the pages document just fine, even open it in preview. I can even export a pdf and looks fine.
I am trying to open in it in pages to use the reduce file size command.
Any ideas what is going on here?

Think I might have found a potential cause, seems there are some text boxes that overlap on the iPad, and it displays fine. But text in those same text boxes disapear or a truncated in pages...

Icloud document sync issue between ipad and mac

So was very excited when mountain lion could sync my spreadsheets (numbers) documents with my iPad, but having a weird issue (I think).
So I took one of my spreadsheets from my Mac, and moved to iCloud. Opened it up in Numbers (Mac), made a few changes, and saved it.
Now I go on my iPad, I see it. I open it up - great.
Now for some reason, I have a duplicate spreadsheets named 'Untitled'. I have no idea how it got there, I am not sure what happens if I delete it (or if I should).
Anybody know whats up with this?

When you place a document into iCloud from your Mac and then try to open it on a mobile device, you will be given the option of opening the original document or opening a copy. It sounds to me that you have chosen to open a copy.

Exporting HD video clips from Final Cut Pro in a format readable from IPad

There are many ways to convert mp4 formatted videos into a file that can be sent to IPad via Itune and be read by IPad. However, my problem is that my videos are in a format 16 x 9 and the IPad screen is near 4 x 3 format and the pictures of my videos are squeezed horizontally.
Which application could help me creating a letter box stype with black bands on top and bottom of the IPad screen so that I can have my 16 x 9 dimension of the picture kept correctly?

Whatever your output from Final Cut, if you open in Quicktime and export or share and select Apple TV (iPad), your video shouldl be exported in a format playable on iPad.

Deleting document or photos from ipad to save space

Is there a way to delete a document or photo from my iPad to save space but still keep it in iCloud? I want to be able to have access to it when/if I need it but am trying to maximize space on my iPad.

iCloud is able to backup your documents and photos, however if you delete them from your device they will be removed from the backup.
I would use either Dropbox or Microsoft SkyDrive. These will both allow you to store documents and photos, that you can access via an app on all your devices.

You can only use TextEdit documents uploaded to iCloud with another Mac with Mountain Lion, but you can use Dropbox to upload the TextEdit documents to the cloud and use them on your iPhone and iPad

HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format Printer from IPad

I would like to print 11" x 17" documents to our HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format from an IPad without access to a wireless network. I have downloaded the HP ePrint and PrinterControl apps and they don't have the 11" x 17" option. I was told by the HP Help Center that I need a 'third party' app. Anyone have any suggestions?

Unfortunately there is no way to print to the Officejet 7500A using your iPad without having access to a wireless network. The wireless network is how the iPad and printer comunicate with each other. If neither devices have any kind of network connection, then there is no way possible for them to communicate.

TS3642 It is really unacceptable that I cannot transfer my garageband format songs from iPad to iTunes for windows and then add them to my new iPad. Any ideas?

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3642 tells me that this is not possible because garageband format songs are saved as folders.
I just want to transfer songs from one iPad to another. Why does Apple make things so hard?

But if you want to transfer between two iPads, you could use iCloud to transfer directly between the devices, if the iPads support iCloud and you are using the same Apple ID on both iPads.
If you save the project (or better a duplicate of the project) to iCloud, you will be able to import it on the second iPad from the cloud.

Text formatting issues from MS Word 2011 to InDesign CS5.5

Is there anyway to copy and paste text from MS Word 2011 into InDesign CS5.5 and have it retain the original formatting? Each time I try to copy and paste content from MS Word, even into a text box, all the bolding and italics are lost. I've tried to troubleshoot this on the forum but can't seem to find a relevant thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've spend a fair amount of time trying to figure out this issue.

In the preferences you can choose to retain formatting when pasting from other applications. See screen shot.

Erase a document or email from ipad search

I have an email that I sent to my tax accountant. I want to delete it from my Ipad Search history. I have deleted it from my email but when I search the ipad it still comes up. How do I delete this so that it cannot be searched on my ipad?

You can't delete that from the cache in the SpotLight search. You can restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Other wise, you can't delete that from the search.
Just for the heck of it, tap on it when it shows up in the search and see if that actual email still shows up. The email itself should not show up if it has been deleted from the server.

Syncing/Video Format issue from iTunes to iPod touch

I recently upgraded to a 4th gen touch from 4th gen iPod. All my previous videos were able to be synced properly. Ones I just purchased from iTunes store, however, I cannot load onto my iPod touch. I'm not able to sync it nor drag it into my device to upload.
This is the message I receive when syncing: +"Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including "xxxxxx" were not copied to the iPod "xx" because they cannot be played on this iPod."+ When I clicked further the message reads +"...the video format is not supported by this iPod."+
All of these are regular ole TV shows in MPEG-4 format. Yes, I can watch them on my computer. Yes, my software is up to date. Yes, I have iTunes 10 (and reinstalled it). Yes, my properties are to automatically sync my TV shows (which is why I'm constantly getting above error message). Yes, I restarted and reformatted my iPod touch.

Have you tried using the Create iPod and iPhone Version in the Advanced tab of iTunes? That opion is made to convert most formates to the iPod and iPhone compatible formats.

Sync issue from Ipad to computer

I bought some tv shows on my iPad via Itunes, when I synced back to my computer, the shows are no longer on the Ipad and my computer is attempting to download them from Itunes. Why did these dissappear? It took several hours to get all this downloaded orignally, and now I have to go through all that time again?

I can't tell from your post if the shows are on the iPad or not. If the iPad "moved them over" they should be on the device.
See if you can locate the TV shows this way. Swipe to the right from the home screen to bring up the Spotlight Search. type the name of the TV show in the text field at the top of the screen. If one of the shows appears in the search - tap on it and see if it starts playing. If it does, let it play from a minute or two and then hit the done button. Go to the videos app and see if they are in there.

I have recently purchased a Ricoh Aficio SP204SN which is a network-ready printer. I can print from a PC but I like to know if I can also setup my ipad and iphones to use that printer? And if you can how can I do it?

Remove previous issues from Adobe Content Viewer

We do not have a DPS licence as yet, but as part of the process to get the business to sign up we have created some example docs in InDesign and shared with the decision makers directly.
We now want to remove some of these examples, and have 'unshared' the folios but they are still appearing in the Content Viewer? If I delete the issue, the thumbnail remains with the option to download it again.

On the iPad, you (or your clients) need to tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the library and choose "Remove Issues from iPad." Then you select the downloaded folios and delete them. If the folios have been unshared or removed from the server, they'll no longer appear in the library.

How to resolve formatting issue when eprint from an iPad to Officejet 4500

Just activated the eprint app on my IPad. It found my HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer but the formatting is wrong when printing an email. Is there a solution?
