Document in Pages App is frozen

I was opening an email document in the Pages App on my iPad and it is basically frozen. It looks like it is beginning to load but nothing happens. I was able to open another couple documents and the rest of my documents work fine. It does not seem to cause any problems but I just have this grayed out document that won't open or load and I can not delete it. I have tried closing the app, turning off the iPad and even reset it holding the power and main button. It just bugs me to have an extra document that I can't do anything with. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

No I have spent the last hour trying. I tried all kinds of things. The last thing I tried is to access the files in Library>Mobile documents. I wanted to see if I could save a copy to another folder, so I have a backup in case it all goes wrong. I stupidly didnt think of duplicating most of my files when I gleefully moved them from Dropbox to icloud. I did with the later ones, but this is one of the ones that I dont have a backup for. So, anyway, you can try to access the Library folder is you like, but starting with Lion, Apple hid it, so that unskillful people like me couldnt mess around with it, deleting important files.

    Hello Yvonne.
    Specialized OCR software may be needed in order to save files directly to Microsoft Word format.  Our software does not have this capability.
    If you are attempting to scan a basic, text-only document.  You can use our IJ Scan Utility to scan and make adjustments.
     1.  Start, point to (All) Programs, Canon Utilities and then open the Canon IJ Scan Utility.
     2.  Click 'Settings' on the lower right corner.
     3.  Click 'Document Scan' on the left.
     4.  Under 'Application Settings' on the right, select 'Start (OCR)' and choose 'Canon My Image Garden' in the menu.
     5.  Click OK.
     6.  In the IJ Scan Utility, click 'Document'.
    When scanning is completed, Notepad will open and you will be able to edit and save your document.

    I had not backed up my ipad mini and it stopped working so i had to restore it. All my important documents are now gone. Is there any way i can get my documents back? Do they save those documents on their servers or anything? Thanks in advance.

    I could not find any solution so i had to redo all the documents, but this time I used iCloud to save all my data on the server incase any mishap.

    There's several ways to get access to your documents.
    You can email them to yourself from where ever they are presently.
    You can use iTunes file sharing to copy the files into the file sharing area of Pages in iTunes.
    You can turn on iCloud and go to iCloud.com on your computer to copy files into iCloud which will then copy them to your iPhone.
    If you have Pages on your computer you can turn on iCloud on your computer and your iPhone and select those documents to keep synced between the two devices.

    As far as I can see, you have to create a shape and then format the shape. Tap the + sign icon in the upper right corner and select a shape - a prefilled shape or a blank one - and the tap the paint brush icon and select a style/color for that shape.
    You can change the size of the shape by selecting it and then dragging the blue dots to the size that you want. If you tap on a background that you have already created - tap on the paint brush to change the color from the styles palette.

    Usually it is not frozen as such it is just waiting for you to click on OK somewhere.
    Check if there isn't a button or window somewhere or whether Enter will clear it.

    Have you tried closing the Pages app completely and seeing if it works ok when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Pages 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Pages app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • TS1702 When I tried to update existing Pages app it did not complete loading update and has 'locked' into loading mode. I do not want to trash the existing Pages because it contains documents I need. Any advice?

    My problem is that when attempting to load updateed Pages the app has frozen in 'loading' mode and will not complete the loading. It is now unusable and does not respond to turning off the iPad and restarting. The Pages icon is in 'shadow' and will not respond . Cannot get the red minus symbol. Can get X symbol but do not want to trash it because it contains many documents I do not want to lose.  Suggestions welcome!

    Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

    My pages app on my mac wouldn't open documents created on my iPad, it said that I needed to down load the newest version which I belive I had.  So I put it in the trash hoping I could re install but now I can't open it at all :-(

    Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

    My Mac is requiring the newer version of Pages to view an existing document created on the old Pages.  I updated my current Pages app and it still won't open this document I want to view.
