Document library is missing

The document library panel is empty. I'm using windows 7, so I checked my app data adobe roaming folder and I can't find a document library folder on my hard drive. Does anyone know how to get the document library back? I tried updating fireworks, but there doesn't seem to be an update available.

Do you mean the Common Library?
If not, don't worry about it. The Document Library is a part of the document itself, and changes from one document to the next. Any new document will have an empty Document Library, until you start creating or importing symbols. (Likewise, if you drag something from the Common Library onto the canvas of your document, it gets copied into the Document Library.)

Edit Form in Document Library missing data

When I try to create a new Edit Form for a Document Library in SP Designer 2013 the new form is missing the Name field. The people picker field doesn't do lookups anymore either. Like the Java is broke.
When I tried to do the same thing on a Drop Off Library for content management same thing as above plus documents stopped submitting.
Anyone know how to do this? Am I missing something?

Document Library view selection menu missing

Hi,
I am encountering a strange issue with the SP2013 document library web part. I included a screenshot (see link) where you can see that the web part of the doc lib doesn't contain a view selector menu at the right side. This is only available after
you go to the document library system page by clicking on the title of the document library. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Its very frustrating because the customer wants to see all the views at the home page of the site. Thanks for the

You can still get to those views using the ellipses next to the view name can't you?
It's probably related to the way that SharePont handles multiple web parts on a page. Rather than handle item references for multiple web parts they've been stripped out.

Unable to load Packaged App Document Library 0.91 in Apex 3

I have downloaded packaged application Document Library 0.91 from packaged applications URL and trying to import it into APEX 3.0.
In Application Builder I am getting an error message that 'Script has exceeded the maximum limit'. So I tried executing the install script as a application parsing schema, then it returned following error in SQL*Plus:

Maybe we need to be more explicit in the readme. You need to "Import and install the doc_library_installer_0.91.sql ... Select to install supporting objects." This is from the Application Builder, select Import. Maybe you uploaded it as a script under the SQL Workshop? Those directions are in the readme for upgrading from the .9 version to the .91 version without losing your data.

Document library in Explorer showing empty folder and edit in microsoft word not is also not working

I am facing strange issue. I have two different SP2010 environment on two different servers i.e. dev1 and dev2 and each envionment we have one web application i.e.
http://dev1/ and http://dev2/
I am testing this environment from my desktop which has Windows 7, IE8, Office 2010.
I tested Dev1 url on my desktop, and able to open document library using windows explorer, I am able to see files and folders. I am also able to use "Edit in Microsoft Word" is options is working on my desktop. Infact tested on other machine, it
is working fine.
Then I tested Dev2 url, I am able to open dcument library using windows explorer on my desktop, but it is not showing any files and folders and when I tried to to use "Edit in Microsoft Word" got the error "The document could
not be opened for editing. A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document". When I test dev2 url on other machine it is working without any problem. However I am able to upload and download from the document
library.
I googled a lot but could not findout a perfect solution, Please let me guide what I am missing here.

Which suggestions did you do for resoving this issue?
Below are some troubeshotting for you:
Make sure your IE 8 is 32-bit
Add the URL of dev2 to Trusted Site
Make sure that SharePoint OpenDocumentsClass and SharePoint OpenXMLDocuments are enabled as IE Options->Programs->Manage add-ons
Repaire Office 2010 under Control Panel

Advice needed for provider hosted web application - authentication and access to SharePoint document library

I haven't done SharePoint 2013 development with claims so I apologize in advance if my assumptions and questions are way out in left field.
I'm trying to understand SharePoint 2013 claims authentication for a scenario that involves:
A SharePoint provided hosted (web forms) app that will pull information and assets (e.g. PDFs) from SharePoint into the web page.
It will be a VS 2012 solution with asp.net.identity feature.
Security will be set for internal users, federated external users and forms-based external users. Based on their security and (claim type) role it will define what information and assets that can be retrieved from SharePoint
I have looked through MSDN and other sources to understand.
This one helped with my understanding
Federated Identity for Web Applications and assumed that the general concept could be applied to forms-based identity for non-Federated external users .
What I have now:
VS 2012 solution web forms application set to Provider Host with asp.net.identity feature and its required membership tables.
I can create new users and associate claims to the new user.
I can log in with a user from the membership tables and it will take me to a default.aspx page. I have added code to it that displays the claims associated to a user.
For POC purposes I'd like to retrieve documents that are associated to this user from the default.aspx page.
This is where I am having trouble understanding: Is my understand correct?
Internal users
since they are internal on the network i am assuming that they would already have access to SharePoint and they would already be configured to what documents that they have available to them.
Federated external users & Forms authentication external users
it seems to me that the authentication for external users are separate from SharePoint authentication process.
changes to the configuration settings are necessary in SharePoint, IIS, web application.
I believe this is what i read.
claims processes (e.g. mappings) need to be set up in SharePoint
as long as external users are authenticated then things are ok b/c they would have claims associated to the user and the configuration in SharePoint takes are of the rest.
This statement bothers me because I think it's wrong.
So basically i'm stuck with if my understanding is correct: once a user is authenticated either by federated identity or asp.net.identity authentication that it should go to the provider hosted default.aspx page because the claim is authenticated and means
that it should have access to it and the SharePoint document library based on some claim property. I could then write the calls to retrieve from a document library and SharePoint will know based on some claim property that the logged in user can only
access certain documents.
It just sounds too good to be true and that i'm missing something in the thought process.

when i thinking regarding this topic, its looks like an environment with multiple of realms,
from what you understand, its correct that all the authentication is based from the provider, so for example i have a windows live ID and internal ID, then when i login windows live ID, it will be authenticated using windows live ID server.

Unable to see existing documents in a Custom Sharepoint 2013 Document library while saving a document directly in it using explorer mode

We have a SharePoint 2013 doc library based on a custom template, which has been migrated from 2010.
We are unable to see existing documents in a Document library created using this template while saving a document directly in it using explorer mode, However we can save files and even see them in explorer mode, only when we try to save a new document there
directly, we cant see the old docs.
All the OOB libraries work fine.
Below is the normal behavior while saving a file, however nothing comes up when saving on this custom template library

Email attachments from SSRS email subscription are not being uploaded to an email enabled SharePoint 2013 document library

Email attachments from SSRS email subscription are not being uploaded to an email enabled SharePoint 2013 document library.
I have tested the library using a standard email (with attachment) to the library and this works fine.
I have monitored the drop folder on the server and I can see both emails being picked up in drop and processed by SharePoint. The email sent from a regular email account is uploaded with the attachment, whereas the email sent via SSRS subscription
email is uploaded and the attachment (report) is missing.

An update on this. The email when sending from SSRS subscription is received in the library and the attachment is contained within the .EML file uploaded.
The behaviour that I would like from SSRS subscription emails are to just have the document and not the email.

OOTB approval worfklow not creating task when require checkout is set as Yes on the document library

HI,
I set the document library versioning to "require check-out" to yes.
I set the workflow settings to create an approval workflow and "start the workflow when the item is created".
I create a new document from the document template, save and check-in. The workflow task is not getting created, however the workflow is started.
when i change the require check-out to "No" and create a new document as above, the workflow tasks are getting created.
Can someone advise on what is the problem when versioning is enabled?? can anyone provide solution. thanks.

According to your description, my understanding is that the task was not created after the approval workflow was running when setting the require check out to be yes.
I tested the scenario in my environment, if I used the Office client application to create documents, then the task would not be created even when the workflow was running.
There may be some reason that the creating task action is missed when the document is created using Office client application and the require check out is set to be yes.
As a workaround, I recommend to install Office Web Apps and use Office Web Apps to create the documents when setting the require check out to be yes.
The workflow will be starting before the documents is checked in, and it will create the task after the document is checked in.

Is this a bug? Document Library view has the wrong 'Show in Folders' option when created from custom site template.

I have a site with the default document library.
I add views to the library, some ask for the items to be shown in folders, some not.
I create a site template via the SharePoint UI.
I create a new site.
In the new site, the library exists, the views exist, but all the views are set to show the items in folders.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a patch or any workaround?

According to your description, my understanding is that view property "show all items without folders" is not preserved in packaging and is lost after we create a site using the saved site template.
For your issue, I can reproduce your scenario in my environment. It should be caused by the scope attribute is missing. For a workaround, you can try to crack the site template wsp, add the missing scope
attribute to the View schema in the list schema.xml.
Also, I recommend you open up a ticket for deep investigation.

Editing Excel in Browser deletes title from document library.

We just noticed an issue where if we update an Excel file using Office Web Apps, when we return to the library the excel title is missing from the document library. The name and other metadata in the library all seem to be preserved, it's only the Title
field that seems to be deleted. We confirmed this behavior on several different site collections and on our test environment which has SP1 installed as well.
Anyone know of a fix for this?

According to your description, my understanding is that the Title became blank after you edited the excel file with Office Web app.
Whether this issue occurred when you edited the files of other types, like word or ppt.
Please install SharePoint 2013 SP1, compare the result.

Document library: File name with spaces at EOF

I noticed a strange issue with uploading files with space at end of file (example "ABC .xlsx"). Such files are allowed to be uploaded for the first time but when the end user (with contribute permission) tries to upload the same file again
(overwrite) then it uploads the file and goes to the next dialog box where properties for the form is collected (EditForm) and then when user tries to hit save, he gets "Sorry this site is not shared with you" error. The owners (with Full control
permission) get the error message that the file needs to be renamed.
This does not happen with files having proper names. The files are automatically overwritten as expected.
Is it a SharePoint bug or am I missing something ?

When we upload a document which contains spaces at the end of the file name, then SharePoint will trim out the spaces in the Edit Item Form, so the name for this document should be “ABC.xlsx”.
When we re-upload the document to SharePoint, because of that extra space it sees the filename(ABC .xlsx) as different to the existing document (ABC.xlsx) so it adds it as a new document.
And in the edit item form, the space has been trimmed out. Because there is already a document with that filename in the document library, it throws the error.
So this issue is by design that SharePoint uploads the document first and then edit the properties of the document.

XSL variable-of document name from document library list does not render

I'm currently building a custom XSL file that is to be linked to a webpart so I can create a custom view. I must say I am new to XSL coding though I have background in html, javascript, php.
I'm able to render general columns that has been added (from document properties) in the document library I'm pulling data from but cannot seem to figure out how to render out the title. It is a document library so it is to be pulling the name of the document
added to the library.
In the aspx, I did try changing all name types (ones with links, without, with edit etc.) but no luck.
Here is my xsl code so far:
