Document Library: Open in Explorer - Client Certificate Selection Prompt

Hello,
when a User in a Document Library clicked on "Open in Explorer" a Window Prompting where the user can choose a Certificate. If the user clicked on Abort (Abbrechen in German) the Library open correct in a Windows-Windows and the user can work.
Clicked the User in the same Webapplication in a other Document Library on "Open in Explorer" no Certificate-Windows prompt. After the next Restart of the Client the Certificate-Windows prompt for the First Time. Is this a WebDav Problem or a wrong
IIS configuration? We use for all Webapplications https.
Thank you
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
For troubleshooting your issue, please refer to the steps as below:

    Even it was working fine but not is giving this error.
    Please help me on it. Its making frustrations.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer” error.
    Did you enable the both authentication (Windows and FBA) on default zone.
    As far as I remember when FBA is enabled on the same zone when Windows is used, it breaks whole client integration.
    So it will be better if you will recheck your architecture and will use different zones for Windows and FBA.
    There is also another thing to try: use claims based authentication with authentication provider which will work both with Windows and FBA.
    What’s more, you can also check with below steps.
    Use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
    Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
    Add the site into Trusted sites to check whether it works..
    Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
    In addition, you can also try to enable Basic authentication on the client computer, by setting the BasicAuthLevel registry entry of the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters

  • Document Library "Open Window Explorer" option is disable in FireFox

    Hi,
    I am opening my SharePoint Site in FireFox and tried to open Document Library in "Open with Explorer" option but i could not open it.
    It is disabled mode. But i could open in "Internet Explorer".
    How could i resolve it?
    Thanks
    Poomani Sankaran

    Hello Poomani,
    AFAIK Explorer View wont work in FireFox because FireFox doesnt do ActiveX and Sharepoint has few ActiveX Components. You will have to use IE for that.

  • Connecting a SharePoint 2013 Document Library to Outlook 2010 client

    Good Day,
    Can someone please confirm if you can connect a SharePoint 2013 Document Library to Outlook 2010 client?
    I have seen articles, like the one shown below for Outlook 2013 to SharePoint 2013;
    http://www.sharepointgeoff.com/how-to-connect-a-sharepoint-2013-document-library-to-outlook-2013/
    Please provide a link to documentation to validate what Outlook Office versions will support viewing Document Library from Outlook client from a SharePoint 2013 Document Library.
    Thanks in advance for taking the time to review my request.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    Per my understanding, you might want to connect SharePoint 2013 Document Library to Outlook 2010 client application.
    Yes, SharePoint 2013 Document Library can connect to Outlook 2010 client application, the connecting process is similar as what SharePoint 2013 connect to Outlook
    2013 client application does.
    Thanks

  • Document library open in client application not working for img,pdf,txt files

    In an office 365 sharepoint site i have enabled open in client applicartion for document library but it is not working for image/txt/pdf files for word and excel files it is working fine. I have even turned on the feature open document in client application
    by default from site collection features also but there is no change.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Chaitanya

    Hi Chaitanya,
    The feature is currently designed to be used with HTTPS, and will not work as expected with the HTTP connection available on Office 365 for professionals and
    small businesses sites.
    To take advantage of this update, do the following steps:
    Wait for the update to the SharePoint Online service, which is in progress now.
    Upgrade Adobe Reader to the version 10.1.2 client.
    Add your SharePoint Online root URL/domain to the Trusted Sites security zone in Internet Explorer1 (e.g.,
    https://contoso.sharepoint.com).
    Check the Keep me signed in box when you log in to a SharePoint Online site.
    This
    SharePoint Online update is currently
    being rolled out worldwide along with several other new features.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • When I try to print something, my "documents library opens which creates a printing "error" .

    I have downloaded and installed the HP Drivers for my new windows 7 lap top in the windows programs and in the Mozilla program (fire fox). I can print without any problem from any of the windows programs but not from fir fox. As soon as I click on "print" in fire fox, my "Documents Library" page opens and a message comes up saying, "Unknown Printing error occurred while printing" and no printing occurs.

    Is your printer selected in Firefox? <br />

  • Adding a Sharepoint Document Library in Windows Explorer Fovorites

    I want to add a sharepoint document library in my favorites in windows explorer...  Every time I copy the link, instead of opening the library in windows explorer, it open the browser and go directly to the site... Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sebastien

    Hi Seabass:
    Have you tried mapping the library in question as a network location on your local machine?
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-shortcut-map-network-drive#1TC=windows-7
    To map to a particular SharePoint resource on your site, you would use this structure:
    \\mysharepointsite@80\sites\library\Photos as your network address.
    In this manner, you can add this link to your Favorites, and you will have the Windows Explorer mode you're requesting.  Hope this helps!  ;)

  • Create folder in Document Library using Sharepoint 2010 Client Object Model

    I would like to check for the existence of a folder in s Sharepoint 2010 Document Library and if the folder is not found, create it. (I would then subsequently programmatically upload documents to that folder -- which I have figured out). Can someone
    please help me figure out how to check for the extistence of and then create a folder using the Sharepoint 2010 Client Object Model?

    You can use this:
    public static void CreateFolder_ClientOM(string listName, string folderName)
    ClientContext clientContext = new ClientContext("http://basesmc2008");
    Web web = clientContext.Web;
    List list = clientContext.Web.Lists.GetByTitle(listName);
    clientContext.Load(clientContext.Site);
    string targetFolderUrl = listName + "/" + folderName;
    Folder folder = web.GetFolderByServerRelativeUrl(targetFolderUrl);
    clientContext.Load(folder);
    bool exists = false;
    try
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    exists = true;
    catch (Exception ex)
    if (!exists)
    ContentTypeCollection listContentTypes = list.ContentTypes;
    clientContext.Load(listContentTypes, types => types.Include
    (type => type.Id, type => type.Name,
    type => type.Parent));
    var result = clientContext.LoadQuery(listContentTypes.Where
    (c => c.Name == "Folder"));
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    ContentType folderContentType = result.FirstOrDefault();
    ListItemCreationInformation newItemInfo = new ListItemCreationInformation();
    newItemInfo.UnderlyingObjectType = FileSystemObjectType.Folder;
    newItemInfo.LeafName = folderName;
    ListItem newListItem = list.AddItem(newItemInfo);
    newListItem["ContentTypeId"] = folderContentType.Id.ToString();
    newListItem["Title"] = folderName;
    newListItem.Update();
    clientContext.Load(list);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();

  • LDAPConnection; JSSESocketFactory; Client Certificate selection

    I'm trying to set up a LDAPConnection (using netscape libraries) to use SSL.
    I've read quite a few forum topics/replies concerning this subject but I have yet to see how I can programmatically (via Java API) provide the certificate from an available keystore to go with the connection.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the feedback!
    I've been able access the keystore and truststore and associate them with an SSLContext object (using the examples you pointed out in the SDK guide.
    In the examples a SSLSocketFactory is retrieved from the SSLContext object and used in a normal Socket programming manner.
    In my case I'm trying to associate the SSL Socket Factory object with an LDAPConnection (Netscape libes) object. Based on my investigation the LDAPConnection requires a JSSESocketFactory and it's inconvertible from the SSLSocketFactory.

  • Enable Merge Documents and Relink documents views for a document library

    Hi All,
    I would like to have Merge Documents and Relink documents views for a document library (not a form library). I was able to see Combine.aspx and Repair.aspx in the document library open with explorer -> Forms folder. How do I enable these two views?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
    Merge Documents -> /Forms/Combine.aspx
    Relink Documents -> /Forms/repair.aspx

    These two views is actually hidden in SharePoint library, you can enable it by set hidden property to false.
    download SharePoint manager, then find the site, root to the specified library, click views, find the Merge documents view, you will see that the Hidden propery is by default set to true.
