Document Management App that runs on OS X Server?

I need a CMS or EDMS application (for document management) that runs on the mini-mac server. Others will access via browser.
Thin-client application. Similar to DocuWare or OnBase or IBM Content Manager, but APPLE FRIENDLY!!!!!

I've been running a MacBook Pro for some five years and have also used a Parallels partition to run some legacy Windows programs such as Quicken Deluxe 2000!
I am now determined to dump the Parallels partition and now need a money management app that runs under Yosemite and is suitable for a UK user - we cannot (easily) buy the US/Canada Quicken software anymore - so I need a package that will run UK£ and can handle multiple accounts but I do not need any stock market look up capability etc.

I ran Quicken Deluxe 2002 for years and now I use Quicken 2007 for Mac, since it is now compatible with Snow Leopard through Yosemite.
You can obtain it for $15 using the Intuit online chat function, and I assume they will sell and ship to the UK. Try it:

Since you are using Quicken Deluxe 2000 you first need to convert the data files while still running in Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard:
Download Quicken 2006 (PPC) from Intuit:

Open your data file in Quicken 2006 (PPC) and it will automatically convert it to Quicken 2005/6/7 data file.
NOTE: I know this procedure worked for my Quicken Deluxe 2002 data files, I have not personally tried it on a Quicken Deluxe 2000 data file.

Recommendations needed for document management app

I want to be able to mail text files in various formats (*.pdf, *.html, *.docx etc) to my iPad, where the
files will then be displayed by title. I also want to add a couple of sentences of annotation to each item.
I should then be able to display any given item with a click or tap.
I can mail files to my ibook app right now OK but I can't see any way to annotate an ibook entry and I
really need that.
To review: Imagine that I am working from my desktop. I see a file I want to save to my iPad. I
download it to my PC and mail it as an attachment to my icloud account. I go to Mail in my iPad
and tap the 'Move' icon. The 'Move' icon gives me the opportunity to save it to the document management app,
whatever it is called. I then go to that app and annotate the saved file. The annotation appears next to
the file title. When I tap the entry the file displays.
I assume the right name for an app like this is text management or file management or document management.
What does this???

I do a lot of counselling about a very complicated and dynamic subject. Right now I have to lug 20-30 pounds of reference texts from point A to point B to point C. I bought the iPad Air in hopes I could store this material in the tablet. But the reference material is complicated -- I guess I said that -- and I need lots of words to clarify what the subject is of each pamphlet and brochure, etc, before I can clearly differentiate one from the other. Imagine I have documents A, B and C. In the best of all worlds I would see a metadata display that looked like this:
File A -- Comments
File B -- Comments
File C -- Comments
Taking the filenames and the comments together I decide I need to look at C. I tap that and it displays.
That is the best of worlds. But I see GR allows me to rewrite filenames and maybe doing that will get me to where I want to go.
It does seem strange that with all document-handling packages out there there isn't one that allows comments in metadata. Oh well.

There are several apps in the App Store. Look at them to see what might meet your needs. There is a keynote app that might be best for you.

One app that runs on iPhone and iPad

Hi Folks,
My company wants to make a Native app that runs on both iPhone and iPad. The design is the same for both (super simple), but how is it possible to have the same app run on both - and for both apps to fill the screen of the device? Would we need to create two apps and submit them separately to iTunes? If we were doing this as a Web App it wouldnt be a problem as we just use scaling widths.
I presume we need to create two seperate apps... so if that is true my next question would be how much extra work it would take to make an ipad version? If we already have a developed mobile app how quickly can this be adopted for ipad? Are we talking and extra 20% project time (imagine its a month project for one developer).

Time management app that locks applications about certain amount of time?

Hey guys,
Not sure which community I should be asking this in, but here goes...
I'm looking for a time management app - similar to RescueTime - but one where I could set a time limit on how many hours a day a certain application is allowed to run, and after that time limit, it would be locked down (note - not between what hours, but how much total time!).
I've seen similar applications specifically for certain web addresses, it seems so unlikely that an application equivalent doesn't exist!
Any help would be really appreciated.

Will AEC ( Acoustic Echo Cancellation ) work in an SWF App that runs inside of an AIR app?

I was forwarded here in hopes of better understanding the architecture of Flash Player within the AIR environment.
1) Woulda SWF App compiled to target FP10.3 run in an AIR App that targets FP 9.0 and AIR 2.7?
* Would FP10.3 specific features work correctly within the AIR app since all the work is happening in the SWF app?
* Assumption: The user has AIR runtime 3.1 installed( which I assume embeds FP 11 )
Details:
* App #1 => is a swf app that targets FP10.3 + LCCS v2.2.0 ( FP 10.3 )
* App #2 => AIR 2.7 app that target FP 9.0
Execution Flow:
* App #2 creates an HTML view, loads the "App #1" within itself and runs it.
Will the App #1 have AEC working and/or any FP10.3 specific behavior ? Is it OK that the container AIR app is not be targeting FP10.3 ?

This question would be better directed to the FlashPlayer and/or AIR forum.
AIR embeds a version of WebKit to implement the HTML view and I am not sure of what FlashPlayer is used by that "browser" (it could be an embedded FlashPlayer, in which case I am assuming will be the same version of AIR FP, or the FlashPlayer installed at the OS / external browser level, in which case it could possibly be a newer version of the FlashPlayer).
Best thing to do: try it out
I would build an AIR app embedding a small SWF that prints out the FlashPlayer version and see what happen changing the targets for the AIR app and the SWF.

Is there a file manager app that does NOT connect to the cloud?

I need a file manager that will allow people to open, read and save files from various traditional sofrware such as PDF, .DOC, .XLS, etc. It CANNOT have cloud capabilities but only be local on their personal ipad. Does anyone know of such an app (that's free or of very minimal cost)?

Perhaps GoodReader would work for you. If you need your users to be able to edit Office files, then you'll have to look into one of that type of app and most if not all have some sort of cloud capabilities.

3rd party apps cannot run in the background. Notifications can be used if supported from an external server.

How can I develope a native mobile cross platform app that can access an SQL server.

I would do it in html5 as a web app but I also need to access an SQL server and upload data(text) pictures from the camera and
geolocation data etc.
I've developed many web based applications, but this is this first attempt to integrate native device functions AND interact with an SQL database.
So it would have to be able to use form data then add a photo and geolocation and send everything to the database.
A site with examples and/or tutorials would be nice.
To make things worse, I'd also have to be able to work offline and re-sync when networks connections allow.
If a native app would be too complex, then I was thinking I might be able to develope an app that gathers data then
passes the info on to a browser to connect with the database.
But as much as possible I don't want to have to swing back and forth between a browser and an app.

Here is a page a I bookmarked a while back to use jQUERY to access a php scripts sitting on a server that can then interact with the database in the usual way. This means that you will be able to use DW to create the usual HTML CSS and jQuery to make an interactive app.
I havn't yet tried this but a quick look over the script looks good. Make sure you use php that sanitizes input.

HOw can I delete the apps running I the background in the new Ios7. Earlier all that I had to do was to press continuously and then could delete when the Mark would appear. now I am unable to do it.
AAlso, I am unable to save a photograph as a wall paper.
