Document Manager taskflows in Spaces - differential behaviour

Hoping someone can enlighten me...
If you look at the screen shot here [http://www.trans.com.au/tmp/shot.png] you'll see two Document Manager taskflows placed onto a WebCenter Spaces page. The one at the top of the page is pointing at the Space's content folder, and as such has editing enabled.
The one at the bottom points to a folder elsewhere in our content repository, and as you can see most features are greyed out.
Both of the taskflows have their readOnly property set to false (default), so I'm wondering what is required to be done to the repository folder at the bottom to un-grey the document management features we need on the folder in Spaces.
Both folders are owned by the identity I'm logging in with.
Thanks...

Problem worked around - created a new space with content folder, shunted custom structure under that, works fine.

  • Error in viewing Document Service taskflow in spaces

    Hi,
I am using Content and Spaces 11.1.1.8.0.
I have integrated UCM with Spaces in EM and added a folder to a page through Document Explorer taskflow in spaces.
When I view the page, I am getting below error.
    The Documents service is unavailable.
    Retry
The Documents service is not enabled for this Portal or a parent Portal.
But, I am able to view the files from "Documents" from User profile page.
I have only worked on 11.1.6.0 and new to 11.1.8.0, I am not able to understand any additional configuration I need to make it work.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Have you enabled Folders_g and WcConfigure components on UCM side ?
You can check this from UCM - Administration - Configuration Information - Enabled Components Section .
    Try useful info at -http://yonaweb.be/configuring_webcenter_content_webcenter_spaces_ps5

Then I ran the application. it's working perfectly fine and I am able to view all document under that folder in my TestPage.jspx. But when I try to view the metadata of any document in the given folder through Document manager Taskflow, its throwing exception.

    Hi Jiri,
I am using same environment and I am having Webcenter content (UCM) as my repository.
I want to edit metadata through document manager taskflow.
I have followed one of the two option you mentioned in your reply.
in Document Manager right click on a checked-in file and choose 'Details...' and then open the 'Info' tab
Than same issue persists, here is the requestaudit.

  • Document Manager Disabled for Group space

I am using 11g, I have installed webcenter and ucm in webcenter. Users login to webcenter using jazn xml. Users are able to create personal documents in UCM and the same is displayed properly in the Personal space when logged in webcenter.
But in Group space , the document manager is disabled. and the following message is displayed
"Contact the administrator to ensure that the configuration is correct and that the directory exists and is accessible"
I login to the Content Manager Server and see the Spaces ( this is the root folder mentioned in the webcenter UCM configuration in the Enterprise Manager) folder has been created.
Any help on enabling the Document Manager in a group space would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Venkat

For specific group space , there is an id for it.
you will find this id for a particular space when you go to administration page and select groupspaces and then right click actions (about the spaces ).
    Next step :
Go to jdeveloper.probably you are using extendedspaceswar.
There you have to created a packege(java package) . Name of package will be same as group id. The location of the java package will be at customResourcecatalog->application sources->custom.oracle.adf->rc->metadata->scopedMD->
(your package) . Under this package create Groupspacecatalog.xml file.
In groupspacecatlog mention the document services taskflow .
    <resource id="doclib-document-library"
    name="Document Service Taskflow"
    repository="application.classpath"
    path="doclib-service-view.jar/ADF_TaskFlow/oracle+webcenter+doclib+view+jsf+taskflows+mainView.xml#doclib-document-library"/>
In that way you will find the document services availabe in your spaces.
N.B:Apart from this, you need to ensure that document services are selected for this groupspaces.

  • Upload file via document Manager in taskflow: error the file does not exist

    Hi,
I have a page that include document manager. I am able to upload file to UCM server via one user signon. Then I created a new user in UCM. With this new user, whenever I try to upload a file, the file name that I entered keeps getting blanked out when I click 'Upload'. The I will get an error that
    'Error: A value is required:
The file you are trying to upload does not exist or is empty
Select a non-empty file and retry.
Enter a file name and location'
Do you have any idea what I missed for setting up this new user?
    Thanks,
    Charunee

Found that I need to assigned role in WLS to that new user also.
After that, this issue is resolved.

  • Using Document Management within SAP

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to SAP and need to have some information about using the Document Management Services within SAP.  As with other ERP products there are drawbacks to allowing this functionality such as disk space concerns, upgrades, performance issues.  Based on some other threads I've read about this it looks like some of the options can be disable to eliminate some of the disk space concerns.
Could anyone point me to a good document that describes Document Management Services and the benefits/drawbacks?  I would also be extremely interested in personal experiences of why you would and wouldn't use it.
    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi, Julie
    Purpose;
The Document Management Service (DMS) is a service of the information management infrastructure provided by the Knowledge Provider within the framework of SAP Web Application Server. The central task of the DMS is to process documents and document-like objects on the basis of application-specific content models. Only the DMS can modify document administration data and save this data in a storage medium, such as the SAP database.
    Implementation Considerations;
In order to use the DMS, you need to implement some Customizing steps. For details, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under the following path: SAP Web Application Server ® Basis Services ® Knowledge Provider ® Document Management Service. The IMG modules contain details on the individual Customizing activities.

  • Document's transparency blend space?  Destination color space?

    I need some hand-holding please.
I just exported to pdf, and got this message, and would be happy to fix it if I had a clue what to do:
The document's transparency blend space doesn't match the destination color space specified in the Export Adobe PDF settings.
To avoid color appearance changes in the PDF, click cancel and change either the document's transparency blend space, or the destination color space.
Can you please translate that into English and tell me what to do?

OK, I've reproduced the problem, and here's what I'd do.
You've placed RGB images over CMYK vector paterns made in Illustrator, which in some ways makes things more complex than if the imges and backgrounds were all in a single color space, but it looks as if only the backgrounds are going to be affected by any flattening that will be taking place in the conversion, so if there is any color shifting due to the flattening and choice of space, and I don't see any, it will be isolated to the background texture and probably not noticeable.
Since you have two destinations, you need two differnt PDFs. The sample is very interesting, but I suspect the print run will be small -- limited to family members -- so the first thing to do is ask the printer what PDF export settings he wants you to use. If you're going to have this printed somewhere like Kinkos or Staples, they probably can't answer that question, and I'd stick with the High Quality Print preset, and be sure the compatibility is set to Acrobat 5 or higher so the transparency isn't flattened. Print one page as a sample before committing to the entire job to check the color (and don't expect miracles from the average copy shop running a color copier -- they usually just aren't set up to handle color management and matching).
For the screen version, set the blend space to RGB and choose the Smallest File Size preset. you shouldn't get the warning (but you could ignore it even if you did). If the file is still too big, set the compressin settings to downsample color and grayscale to 75 ppi and lineart to 600 and see if that helps before you try reducing the quality in the compression. The prints off a desktop printer won't be quite as good as they will be at 100ppi, but probably acceptable on most inexpensive paper stocks that peopl seem to use, and hopefully they are going to get the better printed version, anyway.

  • Using the Document Manager Rich Text Editor

I'm wondering whether there is a reasonable way we can use the Rich Text Editor (based on CKEditor) that is contained within the Document Manager task flow (primarily for editing Wiki pages) outside of the Document Manager itself? We have another type of content we need a Rich Text Editor for, but it would be great if we could use the inline image links, tables, links to documents in the content repository, etc.

Have you consider use Site Studio + Content Presenter?

  • Activating u00E1 former Window after calling a Document management picture

    Hi,
in an ABAP programm I am calling function module CVAPI_DOC_VIEW2 which opens a new window where I can view a Document management picture for a given material number.
My problem is, that the new called window is active and I have to use a mouse click to activate the first window to enter a new material number with a barcode reader.
How can I activate the first window through ABAP without having to use a mouse click again ?
Is there a function module or class available which I can call to activate the first window again?
Below you find a short programm which calls the funtion module CVAPI_DOC_VIEW2.
Thank you in advance for an answer.

I've run into this issue in CP4 as well though I've never been sure why it happens. It looks like you're opening the swf through a browser to so, for want of a solution, the easiest workaround is the edit the html file.
open it in a text editor such as Notepad.
Five or six lines down you'll find the title element which defines the title as it will display in your browser titlebar:  <title>This text is the title that displays in your browser title bar</title>
Just change the text the the title you want and save the html file.
If you go with this solution, I suggest that when you are publishing the project again you deselect the option "Export HTML" in the publish wondow. Otherwise you will have to edit your html file each time you publish.
    Hope this helps.

  • Document Management in GRC 10.0 Process Control 10.0

Hi - Our Company is looking to implement GRC 10.0 Process Control 10.0. We have a bit of a challenge for which document management services to go with . Currently there is no integration between GRC 10.0 and OpenText or Sharepoint. I was wondering what solutions others have for Document Management in GRC 10.0
    Thanks

    Hi Sabita,
Did you check this article on Content Life Cycle Mngt supports all SAP GRC products. Check the link for detailed article and I hope this would be right direction for your company to go.

  • Advance Search not working in Document Management Task Flow

    Hi,
We are using Document management task flow to manage UCM content. The simple search works for us but the Advance search does not work. Does anyone know of any possible reason why this could happen. Any hint would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Salim

    Hi Srinath,
    Thanks for replying.
So in my scenario when I try to search the content using the simple search which is present at the right hand top corner I get the search result properly. But when I try to search by clicking on the Advance link which gives me a option to search by Filename, Keywords and adding other filters, it always returns zero search results.
    Thanks

  • Project Document Management for Primavera?

    Hi,
I made some test with Oracle UCM trying to evaluate if it could be suitable to be used as a Document Management for Projects. My perception after these (short) tests is that UCM seems to be too generalist and too complex to be used in conjunction with Primavera Software: it seems to me that it could bring to an iceberg, being the out of water part quite smaller than the underwater architecture.
I would know if there are some other opinions or guidelines to use UCM or some other Oracle Software with Primavera.
    Thanks
    Fabio D'Alfonso
I update the post to add some other result. I configured the Content Repository (using JackRabbit) and the Workflow Repository; I saw that there is an option to configure the AutoVue to be accessed by P6 Web.
I didn't find a way to configure the access to JR repository from the PM Client Application. The result is that the WP&Docs Documents are visible from P6 Web in another tab , near the documents in the repository while this repository files are not accessible (Am I right?) from the PM client application.
In my honest opinion, getting access to the repository if still not possible, from the PM client should have an highest priority than enlarging options for P6 Web.
    Thanks
