Document numbering in SAP B1

Dear All,
I am getting error 'Numeric value deviates from legal range (ODBC -1015)  [131-183]' while adding new series,
Series have 10 digit numbers. If number starts with '2' its accepting but if starts with 3 or 4 giving above mentioned error.
Version SAP b1 8.8 PL21
Please help on high priority.
Regards
Aarati Kollur

Dear Aarati Kollur,
The Docnum is set to data type as INT (ie integer). The numeric value range for int is
-2147483648 (Minimum Value) and 2147483648 (Maximum value).
The number you are specifying falls above this range so error message is displayed.
Data type BIGINT has higher range than INT which ranges from -9223372036854775808 to 9223372036854775808
So not start with 3 or 4 its deviates out of range.
Kindly check SAP Note 902123 for more information.
The work around might be by prefix like '3' and '4' or anything that the existing codes have in common. The total length then could be shorten.
Thanks,
Srujal Patel

  • Document numbering in SAP B1 2005 B

    Hi
    I have defined two series for each document type and alloted them to different user like A and B (both A & B are not super user). When i am logging in SAP B1 as A or B and trying to make a document. SYSTEM is showing that "You need to define the Document Numbering Series for the document"

    Hi,
    Log in using manager.
    Go to administration module > Sys.Initialisation > General authorisations
    Click  the concerned user name and
    Give acces in administration - system initialisation -series.
    note: give authorisation to the concerned series to that user and check wheather it is working or not.

  • Using series for UDO document numbering

    Hey All,
    Does anyone know what else I need to do to implement series numbering on my UDO document? I have added the following line during the UDO registration:
    oUserObjectMD.ManageSeries = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
    And I have a docnum field on my custom form but I keep getting an error message stating document numbering must be setup for this form and the text box is empty.
    How do I get the autonumber to populate that text box?

    You haveee to declare the tables and link them. Mine usualy looks like this
    Dim oUserTable As SAPbobsCOM.UserTable
            Dim Rs As SAPbobsCOM.Recordset
            oUserObjectMD = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserObjectsMD)
            oUserObjectMD.CanCancel = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.CanClose = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.CanCreateDefaultForm = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tNO
            oUserObjectMD.CanDelete = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.CanFind = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.CanYearTransfer = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.CanLog = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.ChildTables.TableName = "DSH1"
            oUserObjectMD.Code = "DEAL"
            oUserObjectMD.LogTableName = "ADSH"
            oUserObjectMD.ManageSeries = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tYES
            oUserObjectMD.Name = "Sheet" '"SM_DEAL_SHEET"
            oUserObjectMD.ObjectType = SAPbobsCOM.BoUDOObjType.boud_Document
            oUserObjectMD.TableName = "ODSH"
            lRetCode = oUserObjectMD.Add()
    Then i usualy do all the binding in the screen painter. Do it once off. But when you load the document you must also say what it will browse by
    oForm.DataBrowser.BrowseBy = "DealNo"
    Mine does not populate the box when in add mode. But if i scroll through the old records that have been added it shows the recorde number and all the relvant detail. Under document numbering in SAP make sure that it has created your series.....you should see it there
    Hope this helps.

    Kannan
    OK. Unfortunately reservations cannot be created at the serial number level. So the unsupported way of doing this is updating the mtl_serial_numbers tables. I hope you would know (by some means) which serial numbers you want to allocate to a specific sales orders. If you know, update group_mark_id column in mtl_serial_numbers table with your order_line_Id, This will avoid any one from picking the serial numbers (they will not come up in the LOV or will not be auto allocated).
    But you have to make sure to take it off when you actually want to pick this order line and allocate this serial number. So just before you pick release/ confirm this order line you need to update column back to null so that you can allocate that serial number.
    Thanks

  • Document Numbering Series and navigation buttons in SBO

    Hi there,
    A new set of document numbering is created for new financial year.
    e.g. SO11-100001 is for financial year 2011 and SO12-100001 is for financial year 2012.
    Due to this setup, we have encountered a problem to use SAP navigation button to search between documents such as when I continue to click u201CNEXTu201D button, the documents would be popup in following sequence:
                    SO11-100001  SO12-100001  SO11-100002  SO12-100002  u2026u2026
    Is there a way to just navigte through SO12 series documents only?
    If I use series grouping under "Authorizations", this will totally block the previous year's documents. There may still be open docuemnts from last year and therefore, using "Authorizations" is not a wise option.
    If there is a workaround, kindly share with me.
    Thanks,
    Yadana

    hi Yadana
    in that case u can create a user query displaying the fields u want on the basis on the period indicator i.e. 2011 & 2012
    hope this would suffice your concern

  • Align MM and FI Document Numbers in Logistics Invoice Verification

    Hi All,
    Need help!
    Requirement : Align MM and FI Document Numbers in Logistics Invoice Verification
    Followed all the steps as per the SAP documentation : Materials Management > Logistics Invoice Verification > Incoming Invoice > Number Assignment > Maintain Number Assignments for Accounting Documents
    As per the SAP documentation the configuration done should be enough to pass on MM Document No to FI document. But its not working as expected.
    I have done the following:
    1. Assigned MM and FI documents the same number range and both are in sync.
    2. MM Documents are configured to be internally generated,
    3. FI  Documents are configured to be externally generated.
    While during MIRO system generates errror and tells "Accouting Doc number are externally configured" (Not remembe the exact error) ? What is the solution for this issue. I need to align the MM and FI Document Numbers in Logistics Invoice Verification.
    Gone through articles on internet and all discuss the same steps and configuration.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/HowtoAlignMMandFIDocumentNumbersinLogisticsInvoice+Verification
    Kindly provide inputs as to what could be the missing configuration or probable solution.

    Hi,
    Following step should be missing in your system:-
    *Step 4. Update MM number range assignment. The last step is to assign the MM number range to your MM transaction via IMG menu path Materials Management>Logistics Invoice Verification>Incoming Invoice>Number Assignment>Maintain Number Assignments for Logistic Documents>Transaction - Assign Number ranges. Two transactions are available. LIV contains the following two internal transactions that are used for the MM document number determination:
    u2022RD: manual invoice entry (MIRO)
    u2022RS: cancel, reverse invoice (MR8M), evaluated receipt settlement (MRRL), EDI invoice receipt, invoicing plan (MRIS), and revaluation (MRNB).
    You need to update the number range interval for transaction RD.*
    Please check.

    Hi Mahalingam,
    There could be various reasons for document number skipping. SAP has given various notes on this.
    Note 175047 - Causes for FI document number gaps (RF_BELEG). The note is very comprehensive and has a reference of lot many notes.

  • Document numbers missing while posting a batch of GL documents via BDC FB01

    Hi all,
    While posting a batch of GL documents using a BDC program for FB01, all the documents are posted except for a few document numbers getting skipped while posting. For instance, in posting 100 documents, if 101-200 is the document numbers expected to be generated, we are getting a list of doc. numbers from 101-185 and 187-201 thereby skipping the document number 186. But when we post another set of GL documents, the skipped doc. number 186 is first taken and remaining from doc. number 202. Could any one have comes across this scenario or somebody can help to throw some light for the reason behind this. Thanks.

  • Unable to change document numbering once documents have been created

    Hello,
    I have created a couple of test quotations, but now I want to change the primary document numbering for quotations and SAP B1 will not let me.  We have not gone live with the software yet.
    Thank you.

    Thank you - how do you define a new series?  We have SAP Business One 2007 A (8.00.178)  SP: 00  PL: 42.  In the Help document it says;
    To open the window, choose  Administration  System Initialization  Document Numbering  Define Series . Alternatively, you can display the window by choosing New in the Series window.
    But when I go to System Initialization>>Document Numbering - Define Series is not an option.

    Dear All,
    There is UDO with manageseries = true. Series and DocNum fileds are binded to database (Combobox And Edittext). I can easly get next number and assign to Docnum field while selecting series from Combobox. The problem is when i choose series diferent than default and add document i get warning message "The actual posted document number is :XXXXXXX". No matter which series i choose system always takes default one. I found other threads accourding to this issue but no solution found.

  • Sequence of Document Numbers

    Hi,
    I have recently noticed that the numbering sequence of the SAP document numbers which appear after an invoice is entered have not followed a numerical sequence.
    I notice them ascending over time but then the numbers just recently went down nine instead of going up one from 559 to 550?....I expected it to go to 560 ....
    If this makes sense to anyone...Can you please shed some light on this for me... and you please tell me what process i can follow to find out what may have caused this?
    Thanks for your help.
    Noopers

    Someone would have manually set the current number to 549, hence system picked up the next number 550.
    Execute T code SNRO, enter RF_BELEG in Object field and click on 'Number ranges' button.  Enter your company code and from the menu on top choose Goto -> Change documents (or press F8) to see changes to your number ranges.

  • Duplicate Document Numbering after Upgrade

    Hi! Can anyone please help me to find-out a resolution for the Duplicate Document Numbering found after the SAP B1 upgrade from 2007 to 8.8?
    This report has been found from the Administration -> Utilities.

    The previous company database was a trial database, but the production version of the same is showing the following (missing & doubled) List in "Check Document Numbering -> Document Serial Numbering List"
    Missing List - 52 rows (a sample from the top is given below) -
    Document     Number     To Number
    Checks for Payment     1     3931
         3933     6925
         6932     6932
         6963     6963
         7014     7014
    and in right had side in the same as above way, the Doubled list - 16 rows
    BUT I have check the "Checks for Payment Documents" the documents there shows their "Check Internal ID" 1 to 691. Then from where the above numbers have been detected by the system?
    ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT IS THAT THE above testing I have done on SBO 8.8 PL12, hence I have got the "Upgrade Control Report" as well .... and this showing the following "Non-matching quantities" -
    #     Table     Records Before     Records After
    1     OINM     20284     17342
    I have checked the upgrade log-file ... there were no errors. BUT at the time of "Pre-upgrade check" of this company database the warning "common database version differs from the company database version" always.

  • Document numbering for each bank

    Hai Experts,
    We are having multiple bank accounts.
    For eg. HDFC Bank
                ICICI Bank
    For each bank the Incoming Payments should be serially numbered, like wise outgoing payments also should be serially numbered. As we have set in the document numbering as 100001 for Incoming payment as starting number, the voucher number generated serially irrespective of the Bank accounts. Pl. let me know how to set up document number generation for each bank seperately.
    Thanks in advance

    Sampath

    hi sampath,
    There is no automatic determination of numbering series in
    SAP B1,This is limitation of SAP B1.
    you should define numbering series for each bank in
    incoming and outgoing payments.
    You can set outgoing payment series(Banks)  as default
    for certain users and incoming payment series(Banks) as
    default for certain users.
    Ex:
    One user will handle HDFC,ICICI Banks,
    other user will handle SBI,Canara Banks.

  • Document Numbering Problem

    Hi Created one user define table of  Document Type...
    this table used to store some parameters..(Addon)
    i uploaded nearly 200 parameters to that table  using SQL bulk upload concept succesfully..
    But as per sap the next document numbering will ( in NNM1 table) be 1 only for that table..
    later while adding parameters manually through user defined screen(add-on) it shown error "

    so i updated that next no value to 201 in NNM1 table ..
    still its showing same error..
    is there any way to solve this issue... i must upload using Bulk upload,later the client may add through screen..
