Document Object Linking with Material

Dear All,
              I have a small query regaridng the object linking between document and material. Whenever i create part in CAD system, i am creating a document and material for the part in the SAP PLM system using the CAD Interface. Then if i log onto the SAP PLM system under document i am able to see the linked material in object links. Where as i am not able to see the document link in the material basic data screen.
               Where can i found the document linkage information for the material in material master screens.
regards,
rajesh.

Hi Rajesh,
in transactions MM02 and MM03 you have to go to the "Additional Data" Screen. Please use the button and then switch to the "Document Data" tab. Here you should be able to see the linked document info record.
Best regards,
Christoph
P.S.: Please reward points for usefull informations.

    Hi,
    A]The uses of T code CS01: Create Material Bom and CS02 :Change Material BOM .
    Hope you have created the Material BOM.
    1) Link it to DIR using the Object link.
    Use T Code DC10, Select the DIR ,and enter in to define object links, new entries, select object as STOP_DOC.
    2) Create DIR, select the object link tab enter the BOM which already been created. Hope this will solve your query.
    B]Go to dms,
    1)Dc10, do the object linking for material/ BOM.
    whatever document you have selected for object linking attach the file to it.
    2)Go to cs01n, give your material name, enter.
    once you, inside the bom, select document tab, enter your document type and number and save it.
    3)This way that document is link to that bom. and whatever the file is there inside document, you casn see it. just click it.
    Note; If T Code CS01 & CS02 does not exit the & gives error message then contact your basis to activate.

    Hello,
    The links to certain objects are not provided from DMS side, They can be only linked from production side.
    Hence you will find the screen disabled in DIR. These restrictions are specifically given by SAP.

  • Copy WBS, MIRO, MIGO element to respective Document Object Link....

    Hi Experts,
    I need to link/copy the WBS element Document number from CJ12 to the Document Object Link (while creating a Document Number from the cj12 screen).
    I have checked BADI's and exists but i couldnt find the exact point to capture the WBS Element and add the same into the DRAD Table.
    In the same fashion i need to capture the MIGO and the MIRO Document Number and put it in the respective Document Object link tab. MIGO and MIRO DMS screens are custom Designed.
    I have tried adding the code in the BADI - DOCUMENT_MAIN01, but am not able to capture the WBS, MIGO, MIRO Documents.
    Pls provide a solution if your time permits, Thanks in Advance.

    Hi ,
    In DC10 define document type and assign sap object links . To make fields as mandatory its an risky in DMS customization it will effect on other sap object links like BOM item,BOM header. why beacuse for an BOM item you cannot assign values directly on CV02N.So that you need to create DIR  first and than assign BOM item from user t-code .

  • Object link with finanace Documents (Vendor Invoice) Tcode FB03

    Hi all,
    Can DMS object link be maintained with finance documents for ex Vendor Invoice?
    Tcode FB03.
    Thanks
    Ansih

    Hi,
    you can link documents to purchase order item or purchase requisition then obviously this will be displayed in vendor invoice.
    Best practice is to use SAP DMS standard functions. Don't go to link with vendor invoice.Anyhow MIRO and MIGO transaction are
    depeandent on purchase requisition.I hope this will resolve your query and is a best practice.

  • Copying Documents Object Links attached to BOM Headers & Items in Prod Ord

    Dear Gurus,
    I've created a BOM for an assembly. This BOM has document assignments at 3 places -
    1. BOM Header level (in BOM Header overview - Document Assignment tab)
    2. BOM Item level (in BOM Item: All Data - Document Assignment tab)
    3. Document assigned as a BOM Item with Item Category D (in BOM General ITem overview - Document tab)
    When I create the Production Order for this assembly, only the document that is assigned as a BOM Item with Item Category D (point#3 above) is copied into the order.
    I'm not able to view the document links for the documents as described in points 1 and 2 above.
    The necessary configurations in Production Scheduling Profile have been done for integration with DMS.
    I need to know if there is a way (probably through some user exit, BADI or by implementing some SAP Note), the object links for documents attached to BOM Header and BOM Items can also be transferred to a Production Order.
    Please help me out in resolving this issue as it is a very critical requirement of the client.
    With Regards,
    Nitin

    Hi Niraj,
    If you follow following path in the Production Order Header. click on the Document Overview (SHIFT+F7) Button
    You could be able to see the Links for Material Master attached Documents. there is a Button for BOM origin documents. I tried but it didnt worked. I hope it works for you. If it works for you. Please let me know.

  • Document object link information

    Hi Experts,
    We are working with documents linked to WBS elements and networks. Now, we need to know which objects have links to a certain type of document without using development.
    We have explored several solutions:
    Using Object Link tab on CV04N - it is not working, since PRPS object links don't allow wildcards
    Extracting to an excel file the information on a certain document on the object link tab - how can we extract it?
    Using some report????
    We know info is stored on table DRAD but we need to extract the information through user transactions.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Kind regards,
    Neil

    Dear Neil,
    the easiest way for achieving this function without special developmentwould be to use transaction SE16 and made the selection for table DRAD.
    Maybe function module 'CV100_OBJECTLINK_SEARCH' could also be useful for you. This module is also used in CV04N search. Here you can enter a value for the document type (STDOKAR) and a search criteria for object type (OBJECTLINKS). At OBJECTLINKS just enter the object type (e.g. MARA) and value '*' for the object key.
    Best regards,

  • Object link with final status only

    Hi
    We have following scenario:
    - We want to link the PR with document but only when the document is processed through approval procedule and once it reaches to final status then only object linking shall be possible... I want to prevent the object link in other status for the same document.
    How can we achieve this?
    Regards
    Yogesh

    Hi Yogesh,
    I think that an implementation of a DMS BADI could help here to filter the object links and display only those documents which are in the final status. For this action you can use the following BADIs I think:
    - BADI_DOCUMENT_OBJ: This one controls the behavior from DMS side
    - BADI_DOCUMENT_OBJ1: This one handles the behavior from object side
    I hope this information could be useful for you.
    Best regards,

  • Object link with HR master

    Dear All,
    Is it possible to object link HR master to DMS? If yes Plz explain me steps.I have requirement of attaching all employee related documents to that employe HR master.If this is not possible through object link, then plz let me know other possible ways.
    Regards
    Sham

    You use ArchiveLink not DMS in HR. Big difference between the two is ArchiveLink does not allow for versioning.
    Archivelink allows you to store documents against infotypes in HR and the authorisations follow those infotypes.
    Tcodes to look at are OAC0 (content server for storage), OAC2 (doc type config), OAD5 (config doc type against HR object in SAP). The documents are stored used OAWD. You can find the documents by using OAOR or selecting the menu path EXRAS - Display Facsimile (for all documents) or Display Specific Facsimiles for documents related to that specific infotype.

  • HR object link with DMS

    Hi, Devoloper,
    I have one requriement, \Client asks to link employee Photo, testominals, corporate Training reports etc to DMS. explain
    rgds
    Ben

    Hi,
    Employees all necessary documents can be linked directly to the personnel number in HR objects itseif.
    If you want to see it, pls go to Tcode PA30 and look for services for object on the top left side / goto create / create attachment and link the file you wanted (testominals, corporate Training reports).
    You can view the same file in services for object / attachment list.
    Attaching a photo can be addressed in HR itself....FYI
    hope this answers your query.

  • Add Document (invoice),  linked with payment (DI API)

    Hi experts.
    I am using SAP 9, PL 11.
    DI API is returning the "Invoice receipt & must be paid exactly [OINV.GroupNum]" error when I am adding a document (invoice).
    This is because the "Open Incoming Payment" has the value assigned "Bill Of Exchange".
    My code is simple, I insert one document (invoice) and then add the payment of that document. The error occurs when I am inserting the document.
                    oInv.CardCode = "C40000";
    oInv.Lines.ItemCode = "A00005";
                    oInv.Lines.Usage = "9";
                    oInv.Lines.Quantity = 1;
                    oInv.Lines.Add();
    oInv.PaymentMethod = "Boleto-Itau";
    if (oInv.Add() != 0)
                        throw new Exception(oCmp.GetLastErrorDescription());

    Hi Brian,
    The problem is that the "Invoice + Payment" transaction is a specific kind of the "Invoice" one, which uses the OINV.IsICT value to differentiate both kinds ; and luckily for us, this value is not visible (so nor updatable) from the DI.
    Your only solution, is to book a regular invoice and a regular payment... And to take care of the PaymentGroupCode property, since this is it which will force or not the use of a transaction (Invoice) or the other (Invoice + payment).
    In case you continue in this direction, be aware that handling manually transaction to cancel the invoice if for any reason posting the payment fails, will do nothing (so you'll have to post manually a cancellation document).
    Regards,
    Eric

  • Object link to PP material/serialnumber combination

    Hello,
    I am looking for a solution to link a document info record to a material number / serial number combination. This material number / serial number is unique and has a equipment number. In DMS it is possible to link the document to an equipment, but then i have the problem i cannot search for the serial number in DMS which is linked to this equipment. The material/serialnumber is in the table: EQUI / SER05 /
    Can we somehow fill in the object link the material / serialnumber combination?
    Best regards,
    Nick

    Depends on the way you design it. Thats the whole thing about designing zscreen, you can design them the way you want to.
    Personally, I'd avoid doing screens at all costs, there are always other ways to build the functionality in with classification and its normally safer for changes to build them on these because you aren't impacting on other document types or areas.
